The amount of money Raheem wants is crazy. He's scored six goals in the league. Six..

Someone would pay that for him without a doubt [after all PSG paid £50 mill for David Luiz!]. He's #1 in all stats for Liverpool this season and we know he could still improve further. I'm not too fussed either way if he stays or goes. If he goes, Liverpool will get a good whack for Summer (hopefully towards another striker!). If he stays then great, he can improve there and try to help Liverpool push on for the CL etc, next season.

Just because someone would pay it, doesn't make it any more rational. After all, 50 million for David Luiz was insanity.

Indeed it was, but when has football ever been rational? :D

Unlike a Gerrard Sterling won't feel any great loyalty to Liverpool and will want to go for money/more chance to win titles.

He will get the money at Liverpool over the years if he stays but if he gets a move to a big European team or Chelsea/City, I can't blame him if he'd decide to move though as I said earlier, he runs the risk of not being given time to improve at those types of clubs.

Henderson has knocked back an £80,000 per week deal now.:bg1:

Henderson is the one they need to be emptying out all of the change in their pockets to keep. They need two new midfielders as it is.

Agreed. They can't hail him as the future captain and heir to Gerrard and then low-ball him.

Henderson is quality. He's really improved season on season, moved up from the clogger Cattermole category of player and has the high energy workhorse element to his game but also has become a much better passer of the ball with good vision, just a real shame he can't shoot (consistently). Dunno if the rumours of interest from Jose have any truth in them, but he's got the right work ethic for the man.

Where do you put Henderson in the Chelsea team? Matic and Fabregas play the deeper roles there and they are both better players.
You could maybe drop Oscar and move Fabregas up field, but that takes away from the attacking play that's help elevate them to Champions this season.

I can see Henderson being part of a Man City rebuild.

I think if there is genuine interest in Henderson from Jose it'd be for the squad not the first 11.

Henderson will stay at Liverpool, surely. They're going to make him captain.

City are supposed to be investing heavily in HG players in the summer, so they might raid Liverpool like Liverpool raided Southampton.

Would be tragic to see a great club like Liverpool having their best players picked off that repulsive nothing club.

We low-ball everyone. FSG try to pay as little in wages as is possible, leads to contract impasses like we have atm. Henderson will stay.

I think he definitely will but if there is one player justified in walking out it's Henderson.

If Chelsea are in for him and Mourinho says, "you have a spot next to Cesc and Matic", it would be tough for him to ignore. It was tough for Gerrard and he's scouse. I'd hate to see it as I think that improves Chelsea and I'd like Liverpool to kick on and replace on of the Manchester sides in the top four next season (maybe still this one!).

There are a few rumours going around that Oscar could be moving on and I can quite easily see Chelsea moving to a 433 with a Henderson type box to box midfielder taking the place of the number ten. That could also make room for a more attacking player to play on the opposite wing to Hazard. A player like...

Lots of suggestions about City being a better destination than Arsenal for Sterling :pond:

He'd have less competition for a starting berth.

I would say so. He's more likely to win something and has less competition for wide places, plus he might stay fit there.

Don't think there's much difference in choosing a club between 2-4 usually. But Arsenal look very much the club to go to as they're on a big rise while City are unpredictable. It would be more Interesting if there was a chance of United signing him.

Possibly but if Pellegrini gets the boot and Ancelotti was to take over (though with Real still able to win the league and CL I find that a little optimistic for City) then they would be very attractive to all sorts of players, like Raheeeeeeeeeeem!

Besides Utd would be better signing Kagawa.

Arsenal with a better shot at a trophy this season and a younger squad than City. He would face less competition at Man City, I suppose.
