Wonder where Artur will end up. Would expect a club in this league will take him on as their number one.

I'll put ours in here as well as in the non league section.

Already under contract: Jared Hodgkiss, Elliott Durrell, Ryan Lloyd

Offered contracts: David Fitzpatrick, Keith Lowe, George Pilkington, Tyrone Marsh, Scott Wilson, Kieran Kennedy, Mitch Hancox, Danny Whitehead, Danny Whitaker, Nathan Blissett, Callum Evans

The rest clearly weren't going to cut it in league 2 so have been released.

We’ve released Byrom, Bennett, Spencer, Thomas, Taft and Potter.

Byrom and Bennett will be good signings for anyone in this league, Potter would make a good squad player. Taft will probably end up at Cambridge.

Also Atkinson, Diamond, Digby and Butcher transfer listed.

Surely we have offered Bennett a contract? He’s so comfortable onthe ball for a L2 player. Could play at L1 IMO.

Everything else is expected really bar keeping Mirfin considering his age and injuries.

Some interesting decisions made by DF in that list.

Bennet was popular with Mansfield fans wasn't he?
Diamond and Will Atkinson have played a lot of games this season under Jabba

Getting rid of Bennett is ridiculous, the only way he should be leaving the club is if a good fee came in for him.

Atkinson has hardly started all season and been very mediocre, Diamond started well but got injured and form suffered.

Like I said other than releasing Bennett it’s pretty much what everybody wanted.

I've gushed about Mingoia on our forum, I loved him but it was probably right to let him go with the emergence of Amoo, but he'll be a hell of a signing for someone in this division if you have a striker capable of heading the ball playing for 30 games a season, his delivery is the best I've seen in a U's shirt for 20 years, shame it ended as it did and bewildering he has detractors because he can't get his head down and outrun a full back 9 times out of 10.

Rochdale getting rid of Bennett a couple of years ago was imho a mistake. Wouldn't mind at all if he returned!

Wouldn't mind Mingoia either from that description.

Not much room for manoeuvre there!

With all due respect, there doesn't need to be. A large minority of our first team will be teenagers trying to break into it but playing lots of U23 games. We had our major rebuild last season and, as such, most players have 1 or 2 years (some even 3 years) left on their deals. Positive continuity is something this club hasn't had for a very long time, so I'm quite happy with our list. All we need is a few more signings (Green signed today, Miller will definitely sign within a week, then an experienced RB, loanee LB and loanee ST) and we'll be good to go for the new season.

Where ya heard that?

Like somebody mentioned on Stagsnet, Evans attempted to better our defence by bringing in Diamond and Murfin but Pearce and Bennett was still our strongest pairing as he eventually found out.

Would happily take Bennett but he won’t sink to our level.

I'm hearing Miller to Vale, and other clubs in the pipeline, not sure it's definite.

I'm pretty confident he'll sign for us. He's loved being back and, so long as we're happy to have him on the books, I'm sure he'll stay.

Vale have more chance of signing Dagnall, which I wouldn't mind them doing at all personally.

I would have kept Potter because I think he has that bit of magic. I also would have kept Bennett. It's hard to disagree with Diamond going, although of the two high earners I'd have probably got rid of Mirfin (apparently we can't while he's injured). Diamond will probably end up being a great signing for somebody else. Byrom has been pants for ages and doesn't look interested. Digby hasn't really had a proper chance. If we could get Hemmings back I'd have him.

I said all season that we were crap in centre midfield. We need a proper midfielder to play alongside Mellis.

Digby looked a decent player at our place.

I think that maybe the only time we’ve seen him in his preferred position and he did have a really good game. Shame as when we signed him last Summer I thought he could be a big signing with the role he plays. Every team needs that midfielder like him.

Not heard that one myself, linked to a Maltese Luton winger this morning.

Getting it done early this year it seems though which is positive.

Just to carry this post on (didn’t have time earlier) I hope and expect half of those under contract to be moved on... Beckford, Maguire, Aldred and Edwards would be my preference.

Beckford is good but far too expensive and injury prone.

I’d love to see youth grads get the nod next season as we have a genuinely good academy.

Burgess, Styles, Dai, Shotton, Cooney and Da Silva could all thrive at this level.

Styles and Burgess have already shown themselves to be capable at L1 level.

Along with our released players, our assistant Paul Wilkinson has left the club. Nothing personal against him but he was very dull and you can’t imagine all too inspiring, which I’m guessing Jolley thought too. Probably bringing in someone of his own.
