I'm pretty confident he'll sign for us. He's loved being back and, so long as we're happy to have him on the books, I'm sure he'll stay.

Vale have more chance of signing Dagnall, which I wouldn't mind them doing at all personally.

I think the Miller > Vale rumours are borne out of Vale's history of signing our ex-players rather than anything solid. Everything he's said in and out of the media suggests he'll be signing for us. Wouldn't be overly fussed if we did end up missing out on him but I do like him and he wouldn't be the worst signing.

Proof of the pudding for us is the new signings we make. Great to sign up our better players from this season but a lot are already forgetting what a complete disaster most of this season has been with much of this squad. Until we actually strengthen on what we've already got, some fans are getting a bit carried away.

Isn't Miller more in the Pope mould which wouldn't make sense for us to go for?

What? No. Miller is a average height slender striker who relies on his quick movement and pace.

I'd happily take Bennett, Potter and Spencer.

I'd happily take Bennett, Potter and Spencer.

Bennett is almost certain to get some L1 offers - he's good enough, and Potter is a decent player for L2 level so be plenty of competition for them two.

Spencer is good at holding up the ball but he's just never scored enough for a striker, he can do a job but you can't expect him to bag many.

Was Bennett the one we were rumoured to have bid for? I'm not sure whether that was ever anything more than hearsay, mind.

Yeah, you definitely bid for him from what I heard and i'm sure you'll be interested now too.

He's really comfortable on the ball though, he's not exactly suited to Lincoln style but he's a exellent player for this level and it's a real clanger by Flitcroft.

We had Spencer on loan before he joined Plymouth. Probably one of the best first touches at this level but yes he doesn't score enough.

Losing Uche we someone who can hold it up so would take Spencer as a back up to our new striker whoever that will be.

love to see youth grads get the nod next season as we have a genuinely good academy.

Burgess, Styles, Dai, Shotton, Cooney and Da Silva could all thrive at this level.

You certainly seem to have a 'wealth' of talent coming through your youth set up.....

Not seen Colchester done yet so I'll stick it here:

Released:
Denny Johnstone - never really found his feet here, went back to Scotland on loan, will most likely find a new club there.

Craig Slater - another Scottish lad, very impressive first season in 16/17. However after a long term injury and his mate Denny heading back over the border I think his head went a bit, and went off to Dundee Utd on loan. Great player for this level, just didn't work out this time. Will almost certainly return to Scotland

Doug Loft - bad luck with injuries throughout the two years, never really made his mark.

Tommy O'Sullivan - young CM, only started once

Activated one year options:
Tom Lapslie, Brennan Dickenson

Offered new deal:
Sam Walker, Luke Prosser

A little surprise from my neck of the woods. Jordan Roberts has been released.

He has played as a forward for us most games but he really is a left sided attacking midfielder. Good striker of the ball. Quick, good leap...why the f**k are we letting him go!

Josh Lelan also released which I'm a little surprised about. He was a good right back and can still do a good job there or as an emergency centre back.

Yousef Mersin offered a new contract. Most Crawley fans would pay you to take him away! Any goalkeeper with the nickname of Flapper is obviously a good keeper.

On second thought I highly doubt more than 1 will be in the starting 11. If more than 1 is in the starting 11 then we will struggle again. Hopefully Aspin can see that he needs a couple more midfielders.
Signing Connel Rawlinson from TNS in the welsh league. Centre back.

Nicky Adams has confirmed he’s leaving Carlisle United.

Very disappointing but not at all surprising given the current shambles at the club

I'd have liked us to be in on him, but very little chance of that given we're almost set already. Any rumours as to where he might be headed?

Our list

CONTRACT OFFERS MADE: Amine Linganzi, Ryan McGivern, Stuart Moore, Matt Preston, Joe Romanski, Matty Taylor.

RELEASED: Reice Charles-Cook, Donal McDermott, Tom Ouldridge, Ben Purkiss, Tom Smith.

CONTRACTED PLAYERS FOR 2018/19: Keshi Anderson. Dion Conroy. James Dunne. Jordan Edwards. Olly Lancashire. Paul Mullin, Sol Pryce, Marc Richards, Chris Robertson, Lawrence Vigouroux, Kaiyne Woolery, Will Henry, Ellis Iandolo, Kyle Knoyle, Luke Norris, Scott Twine.

LOAN PLAYERS RETURNED TO THEIR CLUBS: Ollie Banks, Timi Elsnik, Kellan Gordon, Chris Hussey, Rollin Menayese.

Off the players released I'd expect all of them to end up back in league 2 (apart from Oudridge). RCC is a keeper that can't catch, McDermott is a tricky winger, Purkiss an old right back and Tom Smith a tough midget midfielder who scored 11 on loan at Bath City this season. Many of our fans are disappointed Smith wasn't offered anything and that may come back to bite us in the arse - FGR may well move for him.

Surely we have offered Bennett a contract? He’s so comfortable onthe ball for a L2 player. Could play at L1 IMO.

Everything else is expected really bar keeping Mirfin considering his age and injuries.

Turned out he’s followed Evans at Peterborough, probably could of never kept him.

They have had Tafazolli and Bennett off us now for free - both would of been six figure sums it under contract, very annoying.

Mullins has signed on for Cheltenham today. Good signing that for them, but was never going to cut it in L1.

Cuthbert should really be inundated with offers at this level. He'd make a very good captain for virtually any team in this division.

Lawson D'Ath would be a decent signing for most teams at this level and has already got 2 promotions. He got injured at probably the wrong time - he would've started the season without it. Wouldn't surprise me if he returned to Northampton.

Jordan Cook will probably drop into non league.

On the extensions, that's a pretty decent coup for us - as all of our key players are now protected beyond next summer. And then we still won't have that much room for maneouvre should it all go tits in 2019.

I wouldn't mind having D'Ath back, he looked promising when we had him on a youth loan in 2012.

I’d definitely have Cuthbert back at Swindon.

By all accounts he is pretty settled living in Essex now. Been there throughout his Orient and Luton stints so I can't see him going too far.

Should go back to fitting kitchens, whenever I've seen him play he was absolute gash.
Tranmere won’t sign him.

McNulty drunkenly told a few of our fans he was a show pony and that we’d have lost both playoff games with him in the team.

We’ll be after a holding midfielder that can pass the ball around.

Our released list is supposed to be announced either tomorrow or Monday, players were all told today.

I thought he was excellent to be honest and really brought the best out of Norburn. I would not be at all surprised if we signed him. He is a better passer of the ball than our current midfielders, now that Hughes has departed.

However, he does seem to upset a few in the dressing room, hence McNulty's comments.

Neal Eardley signing a 2 year deal is the best retention we need to make. Had a fantastic season although playing with a knock for the last few games hindered us.

Tom Aldred who is currently playing in the Scottish Cup final with Motherwell is still on our books. He was shite and uninterested for us last season but there’s clearly a good defender in there somewhere. Do we keep him or get rid and lower the wage bill?

I still can’t believe we finished on 35 points with the indivuals we have on our books. Don’t hire Lee Clark as a manager.

Go at to say, you seem to have had more than a few decent players who couldn’t be arsed. Ince and Ajose for starters. What’s gone on?
