Coventry and Morecambe draw will be odds on when the bookies do their odds
Shouldn't be. There is still an incentive for Coventry to win. Although the odds will fall off a cliff from about 60 minutes if still level.

Morecambe are still favourites, but to have any chance going into the last day after the abject performance against Stevenage a few weeks ago is amazing. It's that genuine hope now that will make this a very long week.

If this was in Italy you'd get about 2/5, always a carve up there in these situation.
I remember one season in the 90's AC Milan needed a draw for the title and the opponents who I can't remember who they are needed a draw to stay up.
Nothing happened until around 80 mins when the Milan striker had a pop shot from about 30 yards out probably expecting to miss and it flew in the top corner.
Cue stunned looks from all 22 players before the other team kicked off and bizarrely barely a challenge went in as their guy ran through the whole defence and slotted in the equaliser.
Full time 1-1 who'd have thought it?!

Most Vale fans will recall the 2003/04 play off chase in league one, entered the final day 2 points behind both 5th and 6th with a worse goal difference... 5th and 6th Swindon and Hartlepool faced off on the last day so you kinda knew what would happen! We won 2-0 and actually hit the woodwork multiple times which had they gone in would of made things interesting but they carved out a predictable 1-1 and we missed out on goal difference with both!

Some Vale fans weren’t too happy but in fairness had we held on to a 3-0 lead against Swindon at Vale Park a few weeks before it would have been irrelevant anyway so only really had ourselves to blame.

Fair play Grimsby, that's a Jolley good effort by your new gaffer (forgot his name) to turn that around. To turn a team that was as awful as you seemed to be under Slade into one not only winning but also playing good football without having had a transfer window to make changes to the squad is impressive.
I was quite shocked yesterday at the football we played first half as I didn't think these players were actually capable of doing that, second half we played a bit more on the break as County had us penned in a bit.
Most amazing of all for me though is that he's managed to get JJ Hooper and Martyn Woolford playing out of their skins when a few weeks ago I'd have been happy never seeing them either of them ever wear the shirt again.
Considering Hooper has a reputation for being lazy he never stopped running yesterday, great to see.

Edit: also helps when your keeper seems to make a save like this in every game:

Ffs been constantly checking oddschecker for the prices before they went in. Didn’t realise loads of bookies already had the odds out! Only 6/4 on bet365 now for example.

Morecambe supporters on another forum think the relegation could be the end of their club whereas Barnet will just treat it as an inconvience and bounce back in a season or two.

May not be back for a while but we are certainly not going bust with so much of the finance coming from off field sources

Thanks - got that & 2/1 with Paddy. I’ve also nibbled the 0-0 at 13/2 with Paddy.

Might as well soften the blow if it all happens....or Coventry will win & we’ll mess it up ourselves & not win!

Got to pay credit to Martin Allen and Barnet over the past few games having looked dead and buried not so long ago BUT it wouldn't surprise me to see Coventry beat Morecambe only for Chesterfield to get something at Barnet on Saturday.

If I was in your position I’d just lump £100 on Barnet being relegated. Then at least if you lose it you’ll be happy anyway because you’re still a football league club. But if you go down (however it happens) the winnings will soften the blow.

I hope the Morecambe chairman lumped on when they were 100/1 to be relegated two or three games ago...

Judging by their performance against Barnet I reckon some of their players did.

If they go down. they'll be the smallest side to get relegated for quite a while.

Shame to see all that great work Jim Harvey did there building up the club start slipping away. Top bloke and a top manager btw, can't believe he's never managed in the football league. Much better manager then the majority in this league.

I wanted Harvey to take over when Martin Allen was let go in 2009. We went for Mark Yates instead.
Speaking of Yates - done a superb job at Solihull since he went in there earlier this season.

We won't be getting anything at Barnet don't worry Barnet fans.

As for Morecambe, after one of their fans came on giving it big licks the other week about us going down i'll happily see them go down

That sounds very unlike ShrimpsMeltdown .

Did you catch him at a bad moment or was someone winding him up?...........................................or did that other famous (actually only other) so called Shrimper, epic73 stick an oar in?

I think I'm in a minority of two in hoping that Jim delivers the requisite draw.......although Barrow fans are already looking forward to a renewing acquaintances.

Think Barnet will see it through now, what a total mess from Morecambe to even be in the picture considering where they were a few weeks ago.

I have nothing against Morecambe, good little club who have punched above their weight for years. But their absolute failure to take the game to us the other week could ultimately cost them their league status and deservedly so.

A Crewe side completely on the beach and experimenting a strike partnership of two big lads in Bowery and Porter who were as useful as a chocolate fireguard together and a Crewe side who kept passing to Morecambe shirts at will and were being carved open with ease on the very few occasions Morecambe decided to attack because we played like we didn't give a shit. So what did Morecambe do against this side? Play 5 at the back, put everyone behind the ball when we had the ball ourselves and failed to show any attacking ambition bar their few dangerous counter-attacks. Soon as Artell put Miller on we immediately started looking dangerous and we bagged a 90th minute goal that could potentially contribute to Morecambe's unprecedented relegation.

I'll give Barnet their dues, I don't like Martin Allen, but Barnet played some lovely stuff at the Alex under Rossi Eames in August. How they didn't score I don't know as we mugged them late on for 3 points. When we played recently, I thought both Barnet and Crewe were atrocious in poor weather, but give Barnet their due again, they played attacking football and got the reward that their industrious play deserved, even if we did give them a helping hand with the two penalties.

I'm just happy Grimsby stayed up because they're a guaranteed 3 points at Gresty Road each season. I still would prefer Barnet to go down as it's almost obvious Allen will stay if they stay up, and if that's the case they won't be in a relegation battle next season. Morecambe however, would definitely be in a relegation battle next season if they stayed up. Judging from what the rags said about the Morecambe-Barnet game today, it seems as if Jim Bentley has virtually accepted their fate given that they've got to go and get something at Coventry on Saturday whilst Barnet should coast to victory over Chesterfield...

Seriously - how can it only be Tuesday?!

I have three company month ends that need doing, yet I seem to have prioritised checking our online ticketing to see if the number of seats sold has changed in the last 15 minutes.

I know exactly who that was and he doesn't even go to games. A clueless moron who calls himself "Blackpool Shrimp." He's banned off our own forum.

We've just had the majority of our shares bought by another dodgy company this morning, this time some blokes from Harlow who have dissolved a lot of companies and failed projects in the past. This new company has only been live since January. I would be here all day and night trying to explain what he has happened to us off the pitch. I have no idea what's going on. Such a bizarre time to do it, days before the biggest game in our history.

As I've said before our club is a mess. Partly down to the board and partly Bentley's tactics which have put us in this position. We're awful. (our back 4 isn't that bad at all when you look at the stats)

I think Jim is done, whether we stay up or not. He needs to get out for his own sanity. I've no idea if we'll actually have a club next season or not. The bloke from qatar who was keeping us afloat could have pulled the plug whenever he wanted. The research on these new guys "Bond Investments Limited" sounds just as grim.

Just been wading through the background on Shrimpsvoices, etc.

Commiserations for the ongoing pain. I'm sure Jim will be on his way shortly. By now, it feels like rats nibbling at the remains of the remains of the leftovers that the vultures can't be bothered with, of what was put together at Christie Park all those years ago. Even though the ground is "protected," surely this looks like the end? Who could afford to and would want to pick up the pieces?

Anyone betting against Barnet playing in L2 next season (as opposed to finishing outside the bottom 2)?

With games in hand and position Morecambe were not the club I expected to be in this position, Grimsby, maybe even Yeovil at a push looking at their fixtures. What odds were Morecambe 2 weeks ago for example? Sure they were roughly the same as ours after we'd beat Lincoln and considered ourselves virtually safe.
