YESSSSS! Thank the football gods that we are safe. We shouldn't have ever been put in that position but credit to Jolley and the lads for turning it around when it mattered. Please do not let this happen again!

Jolley is being absolutely drowned by fans, incredible scenes. The man has done what no Grimsby fan thought possible. He turned around the worst side we have ever had and today had them playing brilliant passing football full of drive and confidence. I am so excited for the future under him. He is already a hero here and who knows where we go from here.

Coventry need a point to be sure of the play-offs and they are pretty inconsistent, I reckon the teams will play out a mutually beneficial draw.

Unless Barnet win by a hatful i would be lumping on a draw in that game personally

That first half especially I couldn't believe the one touch passing and the confidence that was flowing through everyone. The guy has worked absolute miracles with this team, he deserves all the credit that will come his way.

Chesterfield looked like Barca against Notts County at home in fairness but on a more serious note fair play to Grimsby for turning around what looked a lost cause.

Massive weekend next weekend for Morecambe and Barnet. Barnet must be favourites looking at the fixtures.

Good luck to both sets of fans for next week. Glad we’re out of it and although I’m happy it’s anyone other than us, I wouldn’t wish relegation on anyone.

Agreed, I think Barnet are probably favourites to survive for me at this point now.

So after 20 games without a win Grimsby win 3 out of 4 to stay up.
Morecambe now look huge favourites to join Chesterfield in the dungeon.

It hasn’t really sunk in yet. Jolley has done wonders with this turd of squad and they can actually play some football now. I can’t remember an ending to one of our games like that for a long time. So thankful it’s all over and we now focus on getting rid of Fenty and the other shite at the club.

As a side note, as much I dislike Allen, I hope Barnet stay up now, they’re on an incredible run. Morecambe are getting their just desserts for playing for a draw for the past 6 weeks!

Thing is though next week Morecambe just need a draw to stay up, Coventry just need a draw to confirm play offs...........

Keeps me optimistic reading these comments but I do fear a morally wrong draw played out at the Ricoh next week (similar to Yeovil v FGR midweek).

Coventry have also lost 6-2 & 4-2 in recent weeks, however strangely that could help us rather than then being the 1-0/0-0 merchants from the first half of the season.

Amazing we still have a shot at survival. We’re used to these final day survival fights too....

Coventry will surely want to win so they can have home advantage in the second leg though?

23rd Barnet(45) - 43 points. Chesterfield(H)
24th Chesterfield(44) - 35 points RELEGATED. Newport(H), Barnet(A)

And then there were 2. Fair play to Grimsby, they looked dead and buried for a long time, but they've picked up the points when it mattered and are now staying up. Now it's down to Morecambe and Barnet. I'm shocked at how poor Morecambe were last Saturday and they also seemed underwhelming on Tuesday, plus today it sounded like they were battered by Barnet in a game they knew they only needed to draw. I honestly thought they'd cruise to safety, but their goalscoring has disappeared, as has their bottle it seems. Got no sympathy for them, they seem to have totally gone into their shells and are trying to draw their way to safety. That looks to have badly backfired.

Fair play to Barnet and Allen, I don't know how he keeps reviving them, but yet happens time and time again. It honestly looks to be in their hands now to stay up. You'd back them to see off Chesterfield next week and Morecambe could easily lose at Coventry. But this is League Two and it's totally unpredictable. Barnet could fail to win, Morecambe could grind out the draw they need. Wouldn't it be typical of Morecambe to get a result, or for Chesterfield to drag Barnet down with them?

I really hope Morecambe go down as they're northern, tinpot and won't really challenge at the top end. Barnet would challenge there because they always do, plus there's only about 5 northern sides in the National League and we could really do without another southern one.

Some Barnet fans on twitter last weekend were being absolute cocks about us so part of me wants them to still go down, but then the Barnet fans on here all seem like a good bunch so I'm not sure really what to wish for.
Morecambe away is always a drab awful game to watch actually so maybe it'd be better if they fucked off instead.

It couldn't really have worked out much better for Barnet, could it? On paper, it's exactly what you want - a home tie against a poor side who are down there with you with the team above away at a PO team.

Fair play Grimsby, that's a Jolley good effort by your new gaffer (forgot his name) to turn that around. To turn a team that was as awful as you seemed to be under Slade into one not only winning but also playing good football without having had a transfer window to make changes to the squad is impressive.

Still a massive ask for us need to win and rely on Coventry.

We have shown massive nads in the last few weeks to keep the pressure on.

It must be your worst nightmare when you come up against Barnet and Martin Allen in a relegation fight we just never give in.

It will be great to see the Hive full up with our shiny new stand given to home fans, Chesterfield are in the corner.

If I was a Conference side I would be hoping Morecambe to go down.... We have a nasty habit of going top in September and winning the bloody league!

Finally fair play to Grimsby for digging out a great result v county.

Chesterfield will be more dangerous then people think. Under no pressure and unlike most bottom sides they play good stuff and have a goal threat. No guarantee Barnet will find it easy.

Morecambe still big favourites with the bookies to survive.

If we beat Chesterfield, whatever happens at Coventry we can at least reflect on an incredible upturn in form since the return of Allen. Manager of the Month despite being relegated, probably...

Yeah, Chesterfield certainly gave us a game yesterday and probably had 4 or 5 very solid chances to score, had any of those gone in then we wouldn’t be quite so cheerful today.

Martin Allen may be a loudmouth mercenary cock, but the medicine certainly seems to work in the short term. Well and truly challenging Sir Ian Atkins for the title of Lord and Master of The Lower League Relegation Dogfight.
