Our new club motto should be ‘What does the data say’
Ours should be "we had the better XG"...yeah, but you still couldn't find the back of the net and lost the blooming game!

Horseman kept bringing up that bollocks. None of those games were good performances, regardless of what data he produced.

At least Cotterill isn't into that sort of stuff, hence sacking off all our 'technical' staff. Back to the old school watch a game with your eyes and use scouts/contacts to get players in, not data analysts or spreadsheets.

Crewe and Colchester will play out a 0-0 with the ball not leaving the centre circle.

We really shouldn’t be down with the players we’ve had this season. But certainly deserve to go. Went out with a bang I suppose, scoring 4 in the 2nd half against a 4th placed team.

Thanks for having us, I feel we’ll be back. Never ever thought I’d see us play league football so just feel very fortunate to have done so. Have enjoyed seeing it.

Commiserations to Sutton, had a real go at it in the end.

Shame after 2 excellent season.

1 decent and 1 mediocre. The die was cast for this season in the last 11 games of last season.

Today summed up our season. Spent the first half like headless chickens before a spirited but ultimately futile effort towards the end.

Full credit to Sutton for making such a good fight of it from a position where they looked long gone at one stage. After four miserable seasons I feel more confident in Cowley to have us back in the other half of the table next season, so hopefully we'll have a good clearout in the summer and not have to trouble this bloody thread again.

Commiserations to Sutton, especially to the numerous supporters I know.

I won't miss losing to you though.

Gutted that Sutton have gone down - for some reason I was really hoping we'd play them next season.

Come on now SoC if you want to consign all us tinpotters back to where we belong at least let us have a weekend in Southend to enjoy for a bit longer. Next best around there I've had before that in the Conference was Canvey Island....

Southend are definitely ahead of both of them in the queue.
Southend also a far better side than both of those. Think they’ll win it next year personally.

Oldham are a shambles currently. The disconnect between fans & management/players is so toxic it’s unreal, and majority of their squad are contracted and on big wages so they’ll do well shifting them. Only way they have a successful season next year IMO is if their chairman cuts his losses, bites the bullet and pays off the shit they’ve got to make room for improvements. Their track record in recruitment doesn’t suggest they’d necessarily get it right though anyway, and in 12 months time could be saying exact same thing if they risk it and do that.

Also, glad to see the back of Sutton. Horrid memories of getting pumped at their place on that 3G when we were pony in the conference. Couldn’t be arsed with that again.

Also that nobhead striker they’ve got (god knows what his name is but you’ll know who I mean) stinks of non league shit house so he’s back where he deserves to be too.

You enjoyed Canvey Island!

The place is a dump and should be towed over to France and left. Also, the coldest I've ever been at a football match was Canvey. The wind and rain blowing straight of the mudflats not even slightly warmed by the Shell Haven flames. Ugh!

The only good thing from Canvey was Dr Feelgood.

Canvey's an odd place, but compared with the Isle of Sheppey almost opposite, it's heaven on earth.

Have never been to the "other club" on Canvey, Concord Rangers, but can only begin to imagine how windswept their ground must be, far more so than anywhere Canvey themselves played. It's in the back of beyond by a caravan park, the ruins of an unfinished unopened oil refinery, and on the way to a pub by the estuary that is apparently in "Great Expectations". It's gloriously bleak down there ... But probably not so great to watch footy on a winter evening

My missus is a health visitor in Sittingbourne and on the Isle of Sheppey, some of the stories she comes back with are wild.

The Isle of Sheppey is apparently known as the Costa Del Shit hole.

Not been there myself but going by that not sure I'll be booking my next holiday there.

Agreed, even the predicted play-offs is lower than the average. Take out the top 4 and the rest are pretty poor all round. Think some Crewe fan said they had 9 points from the last 33 and they are still 5th.
The only thing that shows is that Crewe were brilliant until March
