No loss with that pitch, reminds me of what we used to see on The Big Match and MOTD back in the 70's.

It's a shame in a way because I love the pubs in Newport, the beer is cheap and the station and ground are right near the city centre.

However, if Graham Westley was to have another relegation on his CV then that'd be grand.

Orient fans, you seem certain FB won't pay the HMRC bill - is this based on anything concrete, or just his past history of being a total c***?

He is a fucking c*** and an unpredictable one at that. The club have made no statement on the situation at all, which points towards the fact he probably won't do it. Becchetti has gone into hiding, potential buyers cannot contact him, no one seems to know where he is.

He has spent the last 4 months cutting costs everywhere. Our whole first team squad was put up for sale and alot of them were offloaded. Ones who refused to leave like Alex Cisak are now frozen out.

Its all very unfair on EVERYONE though - The fans, the clubs long standing employees, the players - Especially the youngsters who are working their bollocks off to save the club on the pitch and of course all the other sides at the bottom of League Two who come March 20th could well be save.

Bit of a shocking decision that. Not like the new man will come in and turn around Newports fortunes. They are well and truly in the mire

To be fair, losing 4-0 to the Orient youth team probably should cost you your job.

No, but it gives someone else time to try and gauge things.

Bristol Rovers had the right idea when they appointed Clarke in a similar situation and decided he was their man regardless of relegation. The last thing you want to do, like we did, is stick with the manager who relegated you (Westley isn't completely at fault I imagine) then sack him in September/October when he's spent all the money.

With the parachute payments, your first season is the most important one.

Having already been down there, the Newport fans must be pretty gutted.

The concept of being in the conference makes me shudder, it's worse knowing what absolute shite awaits you. The first ever season down there is a bit of a novelty, it soon wore off when we lost 2-1 away to Barrow!

The new manager would be a miracle worker to keep them up.

Can't stand the man -just like everybody else - but I think Newport shouldn't have sacked him. For starters, I don't expect that whoever comes in will manage to keep them up at this stage of the season, and secondly and much more importantly IMO, is that the new guy will have his hands tied due to the large number of players that Westley has brought in.

In short, a new man with very little time to perform miracles with players he doesn't know. If they weren't down already they surely are now.

It's reminiscent of what we did when we brought in Gary Johnson.

He had nothing to lose, keeps us up he's a hero, takes us down it was expected. However, by keeping him he worked out that every player in the squad bar Asa Hall was a waster and he was able to get them all out and bring in his own squad that summer having already worked out exactly what was required.

Newport fan I work with has had them down since about September, and he's only going now because he feels obliged to.

Couldn't believe Newport won today! They were abysmal last week!

A few nervous teams will be looking at our hearing on the 20th March I feel, With the bottom teams being as inconsistent as they are.....

Danny Webb today admitted he isn't sure whats going to happen in court but he is preparing for the worst - Which is 12 points off.

Oh I can believe Newport won. This is our record against sides 16th and below this season.

Crawley (Home: Lost 2-0; Away: Play them 14th March) 0/3
Yeovil (Home: Lost 1-0; Away: Play them 17th April) 0/3
Accrington (Home: Lost 1-0; Away: Play them 8th April) 0/3
Notts County (Home: Play them 14th April; Away: Drew 1-1) 1/3
Cheltenham (Home: Drew 0-0; Away: Lost 2-0) 1/6
Hartlepool: (Home: Drew 3-3; Away: Lost 4-0) 1/6
Leyton Orient (Home: Play them 22nd April; Away: Won 2-0) 3/3
Newport (Home: Lost 2-1; Away: Drew 1-1) 1/6

7/33 points against the worst sides in the league, pick up another 10 and we're safe as houses and nowhere near relegation, it pisses me off. Especially considering we've taken 15 points from the Top 7 this season. Complacent players who think they're too good to play cannon fodder eventually end up making us cannon fodder ourselves.

Newport need a miracle to stay up, the maximum number of points they can get at the moment is 62, Orient's will be 50 if they get a points deduction (44 if they were to lose the two games before their court hearing). Even if Newport got half of the remaining points available which would be a significant improvement in form for them it'll only get them 45 or 46 points and 22nd place Hartlepool are on 38 points already.

I think it's a bit of a dead cat bounce for Newport today. I can't see the bottom two changing now. 45 points will probably be enough this year

I think it will be less than that to be honest - probably about 40, if we lose our next 4 home games, we'd have lost 19 games at home all season and 11 in row!

Still have us to play though so that's an easy 3 points for you lot given our form against the shit of this division. Mind you even we beat you at home!

I know I keep harping on about it, but its looking very likely that we will have 12 points off in a week anyway - Thats if we still exist.

Today at the ground summed up Becchetti's attitude in recent weeks - No Sky anywhere, blank screens all round the ground clearly there on purpose, no catering in the main stand, no beer in some parts of the ground, the stadium music before the game - referring to Money & the Taxman! The match programme was £1 and reduced to 16 pages, 12 of which were adverts. The floodlights apparently can't be turned on either and the electric bill may not be paid next!

All in all our situation runs deeper than actually being shit on the pitch. But its something we've all got to learn from. I'll be sure to enjoy the game at Gresty Road if it goes ahead, we never lose at your place either ;)

I hope the following doesn't happen but if Leyton Orient were to go bust and results got expunged this is how the league table would look for those down below...

14th - Crawley 44
15th - Barnet 43
16th - Morecambe 43 (1 game in hand)
17th - Accrington 41 (2 games in hand)
18th - Yeovil 39
19th - Hartlepool 38
20th - Crewe 36
21st - Cheltenham 35
22nd - Notts County 34
23rd - Newport 26 (1 game in hand)

I reckon the league won't kick Orient out and will only give them a deduction which is the fairest option for everyone at the bottom and especially fair to those who have won points from Orient this season. I'm sure everyone will agree with me that it's imperative that the O's must remain an integral part in their community. However, the points deduction seems all but certain now and that would mean certain Conference football for the O's.

Would take a miracle for Newport to stay up and with us being beat by most of the cannon fodder at the bottom I still think it's highly unlikely they'll make up a 9 point deficit on Hartlepool. Sure they could win their game in hand and cut it to 6 but with 6 league wins to their name all season I doubt they'd get 6 wins in 11 which would give them half a chance of safety and take them to 47 points but I back Pools, us, Cheltenham and Notts to win another 3 games this season to stay up.

Hopefully it's a void argument! But in the event of results against Orient being expunged, what happens with suspensions? Whilst the games are struck from the records, Notts I believe had a player sent off in the home game and got a three match ban and in the away match Duffy picked up his 10th yellow so was without him for two games. Just seems a bit unfair if teams get points already but then have other matches influenced by games that don't count really? Like i said, hope it's just a hypothetical question rather than it having to be argued with the league about!

Only Newport would be relegated in this scenario but it would make it tight. I doubt orient will be straight up liquidated too

If Orient went through, the points might be expunged, but only one team would be relegated I think, but don't know for sure.
Didn't Maidstone fold halfway through a season ?
Whatever happens , Orient will survive as a club. It may be AFC Orient or something but the fan base is big enough to reform a viable club, and quickly.
If Hereford, Darlington, Scarborough and the like can do it ,Orient certainly can. Really hope it doesn't come to that and that they can be bought even if it's from administration.
Notts have been very, very lucky this year. We had the same problems, debt, owner wanted out, winding up orders, but found a buyer who had four days spare to sign players in the window. Those players have more or less kept us up, which makes the financial side of things a whole lot easier going into next season with the opportunity for higher revenues.
