That is a fair point!

And actually you could say they should be used to it.

I doubt they're really bothered about the state of the pitch, they seem to play football about 6 foot above it anyway.

Should've beaten Cheltenham today but Artell has us creating chances and attacking again. Desperately need to convert our chances but at least we didn't gift wrap Cheltenham yet another win (though we almost did at the end).

Still think there'll be two worse sides than us but we need to start winning games and fast.

I gave Saturday a miss but good to hear we were dominant for once. Still worried though, there's not enough time to be using games against relegation rivals as stepping stone and there's no question that a home draw to Cheltenham is a poor result. The cushion is disappearing fast and the next three or four games aren't easy; Saturday at Exeter is probably a write-off already.

Think Westley actually complained about the rugby being played on the pitch but in typical *rugby anti football style they sort of just said "get on with it - maybe its the players your supposed to manage at fault"

*Of course there are things football could learn from rugby but they do like to rub in certain things about their game compared to football.

I love both, but rugby does things in average so much better than football.

It could work to new ports advantage to have such a crap pitch, it's not exactly condusive to a passing style that's for sure.

True - you'd think they might have better results at home actually.

We're well and truly doomed. Fucked. Dead.

Resigned to going down. We won't be coming back either.

Crewe are as bad, or if not worse than Leyton Orient.

We've had Crewe orient and county in the last month and were all terrible.

All had 1 thing in common, nothing upfront.

I don't actually think the 3 sides had a shot on target between them against us.

We kid ourselves and others that we're somehow better off than the likes of Orient and County because our board aren't public with their incompetence. They're just good at hiding it with the unique, well run, famous academy bullshit. This club is on its knees from the blind faith in ex players as managers to its academy obsession to its absolute omnishambles of its handling historic child sex abuse.

Going down this season is probably for the best in the long term. Staying up will prolong the agony for another season as we will just end up being whipping boys next season and won't last to Easter. At the very least relegation should (eventually) force John Bowler to fuck off, the academy to shut the fuck down and Norman Hassall to accept he isn't going to get his money from anyone and fuck off.

Could/should the academy really shut down? I mean surely the vast majority of people who have worked there have had nothing to do with the abuse that was going on and I presume the current staff of the academy have no connection to historic events.

Shut down is probably a bit OTT but certainly downgraded from category 2. It's not to do with the abuse, more that it's a lead weight round the club's neck that is going to kill us. It's a costly obsession individuals at the club will not let go and any argument against it is shot down with vague statements about how it's the best way to run the club. We haven't sold anyone for any real value in four years and I can't see a player being sold for any real value in the next four, it's more and more the case that contracts are being run down and we're picking up the scraps.

It's just stuck in the 90s. Once the life and soul of the club and innovative in the lower leagues but never went with the times. Fact is so many other clubs do it better than us now and along with the power and money in he Premier League, it just isn't viable.

Big game this Tuesday between two clubs run by c***.

Morecambe are coming to our place, if by some miracle we win the bottom 7 will all be dragged into it.

Morecambe are in good form though, but are very unpredicatble - Tuesday night could be one of our lowest ever crowds as well.

Tuesday is so important that even I might go to the game. Probably not, though.

Wow Orient, you surely can't be as bad as us can you?! Fully expected you to win tonight and Newport Friday to have us bottom for Saturday.

I'm not surprised morecambe went there and won. They looked a decent side when we faced them a few weeks ago.

Our team had 5 youth teams starting tonight - That will be our undoing!

Easily the worst team in the league right now. Our starting forwards tonight were Sam Dalby and Victor Adeboyejo. Sam Sargeant in goal. Myles Judd at full back. Sandro Semedo on the wing. Josh Koroma came on as a sub.

Who?

Exactly.

Add in our two new signings, Green failed to get international clearance so it looks like he's back at Bournemouth and Liburd is dreadful.

Our goalkeeper Alex Cisak is frozen out.

Jens Janse and Ulrich N'Nomo are frozen out.

Yeah.

Oh and the new manager Danny Webb? Biggest yes man going who's already lost the fans by the looks of it. My favourite soundbite on Omer Riza being assistant manager "good playing career, good coaching ability but most importantly a great lad".

I can kind of sympathise with your managers being yes-men as I presume that to them the Orient job is simply a way of remaining in the game as one of that exclusive set of 92 League managers, and being a yes-man, having a dreadful league record but most importantly having a job and being able to blame the owner in years to come is better for their careers than not having a job.

I don't disagree with that.

Would I do the same in his situation? No, I'd tell Becchetti to fuck off.

If I had a mortgage, kids, bills and no other financial income? Completely different situation.

Gary Bowyer's made a whole career out of it.

Admittedly calling him a yes man at present would be a little harsh since for all the Oystons' myriad faults they seem to leave the football side of things down to the manager.
