Michael Doyle is the first out the door for us. Great work ethic and although he isn't everyone's number one fan he has always tried his all for us. Hope he can find a new club and be a success.

The first of many a presume with Collins, Hoard, Harris, K.Wallace, Ben Davies and Jay Mac all at the end of their contracts. Hopefully only Harris will sign on from that lot.

Once Doyle and Collins go we'll have a completely different squad to the one we were relegated with. With only Flynny (I think) surviving from our play-off final nightmare.

Doyle on whether Clough can get us promoted: "it doesn't matter what my opinion is, it's down to the club to decide" before going on to say that Danny Wilson is the best manager he's worked with.

May just be bitter but think that speaks volumes about Clough tbh as Doyle always comes across as genuine.

Joe Anyon has signed a two year deal with the club.

Never actually played for us so I can't tell you if he's any good or not.

Have never rated Clough tbh. Underachieved with Derby and you lot this season, just seems far too conservative with his tactics and team selections.

Clarke Carlisle has came out with this about our very own Wade Elliot.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/p...ause-he-looked-a-bit-effeminate-10249546.html

Vile c***.

“But when homophobic abuse is targeted at one individual, it is horrendous... Calling him gay when he wasn’t.”

Because it would've been fine if he was Clarke. Oh and its always horrendous, whether its targeted at one individual or the whole LGBT community you prick.

All respect completely lost for him. The steps football's come on to improve racism yet this amount of homophobia still goes on is ridiculous. Imagine the furore that would happen if it was racist abuse the other way.

I'm not being funny, this 100% goes on in every dressing room in the whole country. Without a doubt. I am not a big fan of Clarke Carlisle for many reasons but to criticise him for this is harsh. I'm not saying it isn't totally abhorrent but at least he has come out and apologised for it, 99% of people wouldn't do that.

He's still a c*** though.

It probably goes on in many, yes, which is still stupid and whether he'd said it or a Sheffield United player id say exactly the same thing. And yes, at least hes doing something to raise some awareness and hopefully gain some publicity about how ridiculous it is. He still seems to be missing the point though by an absolute mile...

Whether Wade Elliot was gay or not it wouldn't have been ok

Imagine if someone had come out and said racism happens to the same levels or...

Yeah, fair point.

For a clever bloke, he does say some absolutely stupid things.

Magnus Okuonghae has been released by us. Not particularly surprising, he's been out injured for 95% of the season and was most likely one of the higher earners. Did wonder if we may have tried to keep him on a lower deal (perhaps we did), but happy for us to bring in some other experience instead.

It's funny that the board is unanimous in its contempt for homophobia when there are many on here who are routinely sexist and even misogynistic and no one bats an eyelid...

Turner, Doyle and Ben Davies released

Optional 1 year extensions taken on Jay Mac and a few youngsters

Apparently the rest are still under contract...myself and, seemingly, every other Blades fan must have missed Neill Collins, Mark Howard and Bob Harris signing contract extensions then.

Wouldn't be surprised if Davies ended up back at Notts. Still lives in the same house he bought when playing for us and has a couple of kids - his wife's a lawyer or something too I believe so it's not like she could just up and leave to follow him to Plymouth for 12 months.

He's nearly 34 and that so I'd be hesitant. Don't know really. If we keep Jones and Thompson then it's a big fat no because we need some pace in the team, but if those two were replaced with younger, more mobile players then it'd be quite cool to get Super Ben back for a year. I'm guessing his free-kicks are still other-worldly (the cheek of people to call c*** like Alan 'can't beat the first man' Sheehan 'dead-ball specialists' whilst in the same division as Ben Davies is embarrassing).

Jabo Ibehre and Sanchez Watt leaving are no surprise - Jabo wanted to leave the day Humes took over and so hasn't featured since, his contract was never going to be renewed. Sanchez seemed to fall out of favour at the end of January/early February and, again, never featured in the squad again.

Sanchez is a real shame though as he is a real class above on his day. Disappointed in how it has panned out with him.

Not sure why the massif rovers were omitted but the rejects who we let go...

Dean Furman
Stephen Bywater
Theo Robinson
Jamie McCombe
Abdul Razak
Reece Wabara
Alex Peterson
Lewis Ferguson

Bar the bottom two the rest would get into most league one teams. I'm happy they've been binned

Lots of people on our forum wanting Bywater, I assume he's very much past it? Been throwing them in for you lot and Gills for the last couple of years yes?

Whilst a return to San Spotty for Stephen Bywater would potentially mean him making his second first team appearance 17 1/2 years after his first, and possibly setting some sort of record thereby, I'd rather have Conrad Logan or Sam Slocombe.

Id take Jabo back at the Bescot. Perfect replacement for Bradshaw late in games. Give how hard they both work, we would get chances late in a game. To add a second dimension, if Bradshaw's hamstring pops again (when, not if) his hold up play and work rare would likely see us score more goals as a team.

We've just released 2 kids. Charlie Dawes and Jack Broadhead. The other out of contract players have/will be offered contracts, but I wouldn't expect Jimmy Ryan or Drew Talbot to accept
