I've got a horrible feeling Grant, Colclough and Tootle will end up leaving, not fussed about Tootle in truth.

Unbelievable decision to keep the dead wood we have had for 2-3 years.

Smurf said that he would give Page a chance because he was left to work with Adams' squad and given the chance to bring his own players in he would do better. So why has he chosen to release just 3 players from that squad?

Page out. I don't think I'll even attend a game next season. I am fuming at that retained list! Is the guy an idiot? How half of them have earned a contract I'll never know.

Birchall- absolutely useless, not good enough, would be average in league 2
Williamson- if he leads our attack next season AGAIN then it proves that anyone can be a professional footballer
Yates- was shit in league 2 but somehow he keeps getting offered contracts
Lloyd- what a pointless player, has he even made more than 5 appearance in about 3 years?

Not one Vale fan can justify how those players have earned a contract. With Dodds I guess I can understand because he can show ability. They are clearly all Page's mates and he's shown he has no bottle already. He was saying the club needed a massive shake up the other day for fuck sake.

I've never been a Dodds fan m8 but he's been more consistant than most of the tripe Page has offered contracts too.

Don't mind Yates he's a decent back up but got to say keeping Birchall and the like was annoying. Willo has the potential to be a top striker but just never quite reaches the level needed. If he could finish he'd be awesome. That said 9/10 goals a season from him I guess as a back up its not too bad. Massively reliant on Page getting the incoming players right though now.

Page was never going to release as many players as the fans wanted, but to basically only release 1 out of last seasons relegation threatened squad is a joke. Might as well put us down for 1 of the relegation places now.

absolute piss take, Page is clueless. We needed to get rid of at least 10. Birchall is an overweight pudding, Yates is dog turd, Lloyd who knows but not even one sub appearance so why is he still here after 3 years? I am astounded. Fleetwood have released 14 , that's what you call a clear out and they came 9th. Mohamed is actually better than Birchall. Unless we sign 5 top top players then we are going to face an almighty battle from the off. Considering Smurf said will review it in September I can only presume it's a taxi for Page. I had actually built up my hopes too that the dead wood clogging up our club would be on their way. I am just bemused at some of the gash who will still be at the club next season. Yates Birchall Duffy Daniel Boot Lloyd Andoh Azeez-Conteh Campion. Fuck me what a crock of shit.

Most painfully average player I've seen turn out for us in years. That's average in its true sense, not a lazy, inaccurate synonym for shit.
Woolford was horrendous for us, don't think we'll sign him back.

I didn't think there was any indication that you would? He will go to a Northern L1/lower Champ club.

Saville went back a few weeks ago didn't he?

Was surprised with that - thought Wolves would have been favorable to keep him here with all the celebrations.

Anthony Stewart and Vadaine Oliver, follow Billy Waters and Liam Nolan being released. I'd expect Oliver might sign for Mansfield where he did ok, can see Steward going to league as well, maybe back down south with someone like Barnet or Dagenham.

Ryan Colclough has been offered a new deal, I've got an awful feeling he will end somewhere else, perhaps Vale with his Burslem routes, but with us offering him s deal we at least entitled to compensation so a fee would have to be paid.

The club are yet to speak to either Matt Tootle or Anthony Grant, which I find incredible. Almost certainly means they will be off somewhere else.

No chance Vale will sign Colclough, he's too good for them and too expensive.

Going bookies next week and putting my monthly wage on us to go down.

I might put my monthly wage on Dull Davis complaining about budgets at least 10 times.

Have you read the chronicles article CL87? http://www.crewechronicle.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/crewe-alex-want-keep-tootle-9239730

With Coco, Davis reckons there won't be too many problems. I doubt he would be saying that if he thought there could be any snags or problems. Sounds to me like he will sign, but obviously I won't be totally happy until he actually does.

With Tootle, meh. He hasn't played since October and did we miss him at any stage in that period? Ok, Turton might not wow people, but he is a solid option at RB and Baillie did ok in his few appearances. Those 2 are more than capable of battling for that position. I think we'd be best off not tabling a contract for Tootle. Let him walk, test the market, see what he can find and if he is still without a club come Pre-Season in July, make him an offer to come back.

As for Grant, sounds like it'll be a waiting game. At least Davis hasn't done an Ellis with him and not even offered him a deal.

Stewart gone, good. Oliver gone, good. Rachubka on hold, no doubt waiting to see if we can sack off Shearer. I hope we do, clearly he's finished here, so he may as well terminate his contract and go somewhere where he has better than a 0% chance of playing some first team football.

I'm actually relatively happy with our ins and outs so far. Stewart, Oliver, Nolan and Waters gone. Only Waters is the disappointment out of that lot. Rachubka could be signed if they can get rid of Shearer. Davis seems optimistic about Coco. Grant, who knows. Toots, not too bothered but if he stays, so be it. Turton and Guthrie also retained. That'll do for me at this stage.

I'm not that concerned at this stage. We'll surely be in the market for a CB as we only have 3 and we'll be relying on Ng or Mullarkey as backup if SD wants to play a 3-5-2. We'll need a LB. Reckon we'll sign a CM, regardless of whether Grant stays or not, given that at the moment we only have Atkinson, Jones and possibly Turton as our options. Also think we might go after another striker to support Haber and LDV, but then Saunders and/or Murdoch might step up in pre-season. What I think we are relying on more than ever is for a couple of the youngsters to really step up. Coco, Cooper, Saunders, Murdoch, Jones, Baillie. Given whats realistic to expect from the management at this stage, I'm not sure why there is so much negativity. You fellas need to get a grip. If it is as bad as you fear, then they'll be plenty of time for moaning next season. For now, lets leave off eh?

James Wilson
Rhys Turner
Jordan Bove
Jack Truelove

Offered New Contracts
Connor Brown
Adam Lockwood (hopefully as player/coach, without actually playing)
George Elokobi (surprised at this given his injury record and wages)

Released

Amari Morgan-Smith

I'm glad Rhys has been retained. How did he do towards the end of the season? Saw he was playing quite a bit.

Don't think any 'released' names have popped who I would like to sign.

Those transfer-listed Peterborough players are interesting though, I'd definitely take a gamble on that Luke James.

The last two years have been utterly tragic, maybe that's why there's so much negativity. We want a club to show they are promoting change, we want a club to show a desire to be competitive, we want a club to show a bit of ambition. We want those who are surplus to requirements to be shown the door and not retained like the laughable decision to retain Andy Franks.

But Davis just seems to accept 20th in League One is like winning the Premiership. His comments to the media have almost certainly knocked a few off the season ticket sales. He just seems too comfortable in his job and is just happy to be in one from the sounds of things. We'll play the budget card again despite the fact Burton fucking Albion and Rochdale are in our league with lower budgets and lower gates and they'll be showing ambition to finish as high as possible. We're a stagnant club going absolutely nowhere higher than where we are now under Dull Davis. Too many parallels to last year, won't be surprised if we recruit a ton of loanees in the Autumn again when we have 4 points to our name in October.

Fed up of this club and its fans accepting the same repetitive drivel from the Board and Davis. Too many crap players who are lucky to play at this level are given far too many chances whilst the club releases or pimps out our best players to other clubs at the earliest available opportunity, it's an utter embarrassment. The fact most of our fanbase are still in support of Steve Davis says it all to me, any other club would've sacked him by now.

Rich Sharpe of the Sentinel says 2/3s of our budget has already been spent for next season. McGarry says the budget is £1.2 million, £400K over the year to bring in vital experience, it's do-able on paper but we have Davis in charge so I'm not getting my hopes up.

Joe Anyon has signed a two year deal with the club.

Never actually played for us so I can't tell you if he's any good or not.

Unless he's majorly improved on his last two or three seasons with us then not great. Got the nickname Teflon Gloves!

Some big named league 2 players on that list, sensible to get them on 2 year deals in preparation for the 2016-2017 season. I personally think that's good management, and your board and management team clearly have a 3 year plan to win league 2.
Just a shame you have shit fans who call for immediate success, you just need to be patient.
