Braintree have joined in now by sacking Jamie Day.
Gutted for the guy.
Firstly because it was result against FGR, the team he helped to runner-up spot last season, that precipitated his dismissal and
Secondly because it was mission impossible for Braintree to replicate last season's success when all their first team (less three) left club.
I wish Jamie well.

Braintree next for us, then Wrexham so we could be playing two sides with no manager in succession!

Jamie must have known he had a mountain to climb when he took the job, but this is a results business and the table doesn,t lie.
Nonetheless can,t help but feel for him and his family as IMO we were showing signs of improvement particularly with our 2nd half performance against FGR yesterday where we unfortunate not to get something from the game.
No idea who we have in mind to replace him, just hope we are not jumping out of the frying pan into the fire!!

The table doesn't lie, but it's not like Braintree are on zero points or something, and where do your owners expect to be in the table? Has overachievement led to unrealistic expectations? After beating Sutton, who actually look like a fairly decent mid table side, you've had two narrow losses. And Forest Green Rovers have an obscene budget, so defeat to them is hardly sack worthy.

Seems mental to be getting rid when he's barely been in the job two minutes.

Silly football.

Don't especially care for the man but it's still ridiculously early to sack him. Last year was clearly an aberration for Braintree, expectations got out of control I guess. You know football is messed up when only four managers in the Football League have been in their job longer than Jay Saunders o.o

Very true, the last guy who applied to be Jesus manager didn't even go to the interview when he realised the fucker'd been dead for around 2000 years.

Don't know if Braintree fans found this, but for me Day wasn't that great a communicator when with us and seemed quite distant. That's not such a big problem when you're an assistant, although he did take on a fair amount of responsibilities doing a lot of the media stuff and was very involved from the touchline during matches.

Never really struck me as a leader/manager type tbh.

Bloody hell the sackings dowm here are going mad, don't think there's been any in the Football League yet? Feel a bit for Jamie Day was on a hiding to nothing taking that job as he was never going to get them anywhere near the play offs again, especially considering the squad was decimated over the summer.

I suppose the pressure is bit higher with clubs battling relegation compared to the football league. Four down and then two up from the regional divisions is a massive difference to the situation between league one and two. And then only two relegated from the football league. I can see why they get a bit panicky down here.

Still daft though. For starters, it's wasting valuable limited resources that could alternatively be spent on players

Slightly ironic ChrisFGR liking hilarious boring bastard Sparrow's post about Lincoln winning the league in August when in reality it was ChrisFGR himself who was spouting off about FGR running away with it, 150+ goals etc, and no Lincoln fans said any such thing.

Didn't he reckon all the strikers at Forest Green would score 20+ each?

Sorry to deviate off topic, but I feel like Jackie McNamara is nearing the end of the road. First, he can't stop us from getting relegated from the league, and now we're in 18th and just spots off from the relegation zone? Dunno what's going on or why he's been given so many chances, but I certainly hope his time in charge is coming to a close.

I've been saying that's surely the end for McNamara for weeks now after poor results, definitely the next one in line to be chopped.

Opening the door for York to nab back Mills after he mutually agrees an end to his contract with us.

Mackie Jacnamara or whatever his name is has got to go. They've been lulled into thinking hiring a dour Scottish manager will constitute success. They were all the rage around 2005 but not anymore.

But he played for Celtic for 10 years, he must be a tactical genius! Just give him two years, 7 months and 11 days more to sort everything out!

Any substance to them at all?

We can then get Brabin in. Apparently he works well with a limited squad on a small budget.

And pretty much the only person who thinks Danny Cowley will be sacked was by xmas or now it's after we play FGR at their place in November.
Is he scared we'll win the league/get promoted with him and that's why he wants us to get rid of him?

Gutted for Day. But completely agree with chris, he was never a leader and never felt close with the fans. How manys that now, 5/6 managers sacked?

Who would you like?

A manager who knows non-league and isn't completely incapable of changing things if they not working. Mills was found out in the league again and he's not lit up since he left us, people who want him back are seriously wearing rose tinted glasses because we've been abject for years and it's the most recent positive memory they have.
