If Wrexham could hold out until after next Tuesday, it'd be much appreciated.

Haven't Morecambe got new Brazilian owner, potentially improving their finances ? It's unclear if there was any contact with Bentley from Rovers, but if there was an offer a little surprised he didn't go for it.

From a Tranmere perspective, I'm concerned that there are unrealistic expectations about who the next manager will be and there will be disappointment whoever is chosen. There are a lot worse managers than Jim Bentley out there.
Article on there website says he looks forward to working with new owners

True. He's massively underperformed in by far the most important aspect of club management. Something you could kind of forgive a rookie manager like Morrell for, but you'd think someone who's been around non-league for this length of time would be a bit better on. I mean, I seriously doubt any other manager in our league would have signed Michael Bakare.
Gary Simpson signed Bakare for us in League 2! That ended well.

Held off writing this until we kept him out tonight!!

Mr and Mrs Hayrettin's lad.
Thanks for the insightful reply.

Looking at his Wiki looks very uninspiring and reminds me of Welling`s appointed of Jody Brown who had largely managed at Step 3/4 like Hayrettin.

A manager with a CV of Waltham Forest, Thurrock and Grays Athletic does not exactly fill you with confidence. Braintree`s stay at this level looks over.

Out of the frying pan in to the fire. Not managed a team for 3 years and none at this level so I understand.
Goodbye all, its been great while it lasted.

Soubds like when malcolm crosby joined gateshead had not managed in a while but had been a active coach. Were there No bigger names in frame?

Bakare will have been a promising hot shot back then. He's conclusively proven to be useless since. Well done for keeping him out tonight though. Your defence must have played their socks off to pull that one off.

Hayrettin was John Stills assistant whilst he was here. I think Hayrettin was here to learn the managerial ropes from Still and potentially take over when John moved on/retired but of course didnt really work out like that in the end. He took over the first team on a few occassions, the Kidderminster 6-0 win being the notable one, when Still couldnt make because of illness.

Always seemed like a decent guy and Still would often send him out when we had lost to do the interview and he always seemed pretty honest, but certainly well versed in JS many catchphrases! Hope he does well at Braintree.

Do any Tranmere fans remember back in the early 1990s when you were a go-getting Championship side. You were playing Bolton at PP and giving them a bit of a footballing lesson/tonking. A certain Mr Allardyce was so fucking disgusted at the end that he marched the players straight off the pitch and onto the coach in their playing gear and back up to Bolton. I worked at St Cath's Hospital at the time and thought that that was hilarious and the height of petulance or sour grapes or whatever it was. Happy days those for Rovers.

I remember that, they actually turned up at 250 got off the coach beat us and got straight back on the coach at 5. He claimed it was down to the way we celebrated and rubbed their supporters (not fans) noses in it when we beat them in the coca cola cup semi.

I remember harry mcnally doing the same but on his own after we had beat chester one season but to make his rage worse his car wouldnt start and he had to suffer the indignity of a push start from tranmere supporters whilst the less dignified of our lot shouted hilarious comments

Goodbye all, its been great while it lasted.

And just when you'd started to improve your ground too. Thought the ice cream van was a great addition.

You can always hope that there are 4 worse sides then you, from what I saw on Saturday there's a good chance of that.

Pretty happy with that. I just hope he does better than the last Micky we had in charge.
