Ok well enjoy your new managers guys... who is going to take Wrexham job btw?
It seems eerie like de ja vu to me.
I see how well Sam Ricketts did, but last season Wrexham were the same under Keates, very tight at the back, scored very few, lost infrequently. But his leaving saw a giant tumble in Wrexhams fortunes, and the goal difference changed far less (ie marginals)
This new appointment is big. It will surely be a race between Orient, Salford and Wrexham but this is the chance to escape after ten years, crucial.
PS I cant see HArrogate or Moors going up or maybe even making top seven but its still a possibility. Anyone got a few million quid to chuck us for a new stand in case we go up?

Our board has said it is taking its time with getting a new man, but I've got my fingers crossed we get someone in before the Aldershot game.

Rumour going round that Dave Challinor has been interviewed for us. I saw his interview from last weekend after they lost to Dover and he was scathing about his squad and threatening to get rid of most of them.

Still shocked Askey isn't number 1 choice for Wrexham

They gave him a trial run in the Racecourse dugout one night last week. Just him on his own, for two 45 minute periods. First period went great, and then he had a break in the changing rooms. Whilst he was in there, they turned on THE floodlights. He lasted 10 minutes of the second period before dropping to his knees in a flood of tears.

I'm sure he's great, but if you can't handle our MASSIVE FLOODLIGHTS, you're not going to cut it.

I'm hearing a lot of noise regarding Challinor. I'm not sure how I feel, poaching another team's manager like that. Morally speaking, does that not put us on a similar level to Walsall and Shrewsbury? Are we not above that kind of behaviour at Wrexham?

Dave Challinor has transformed a plucky, traditionally small town team from the lower leagues into genuine contenders for promotion to The Football League. If I was a resident of the town of Fylde (can't find it on Google Maps, but it must exist) who had been watching their local them for 20 or 30 years, I'd be really put out.

Of course, if AFC Fylde were merely the plaything of a megalomaniac millionaire, whose only reason for existing was to spite the megalomaniac millionaire owner of another club, at the expense of other clubs around them who are run properly and cut their cloth accordingly, then I'd be happy if we went for Challinor. Obviously that isn't a case.

I'd rather Darrell Clarke than any of the other candidates but would he drop down again?

This Wheeler experiment has been a disaster.
He's put together on paper a way better team than we started the season with, but we somehow seem to be getting worse.

He talks a good game, makes out he's proper intelligent, but he hasn't got a clue what hes doing when it comes to actually managing a team. The bloke is way out of his depth at this level and has us playing some of the worse football I've ever seen.

All he has us doing is aimlessly hoofing the ball back to the opposition...nothing else!! Even when the weather is bad and you would think its best to keep the ball on the deck....nope he has them just hoofing it into the air.

Constant chopping and changing of the team.....he's signed close to 20 players in less than 3 months!!

Even arguing with fans midway through the game (happened a couple of times) who dare to question his dreadful tactics.

Unless the owners act and get in a proper manager we're finishing bottom of the league, yes I think even Braintree will finish above us that's how bad we are under Wheeler.
No way will you finish below us, our manager is the pillock that got us relegated last time and we have got 1point from 18 since ha was appointed..

I have it on good authority that Evatt is waiting for Allen to leave Chesterfield. Fancies his chances of getting the job now.

Signed a 2.5 year deal as soon as Ricketts left to stay on as our assistant, said he didn't want the manager job. It was the obvious answer.

Ultimately, it's actually a safer choice than the Keates and Ricketts appointments. They were gambles that paid off though, which is why it seems odd that we haven't gone down a similar route. Clearly the way they have gone about it is exceedingly odd.

Wonder if we'll get an assistant manager announcement today too.
