Just seen a close up of the defending for the Cheltenham winner. Absolutely diabolical.

I miss Devon Lad. He was the star of the show on here in the summer of 2022 with talk of the Exeter youth team being good enough to walk the league, let alone the first team. Disappeared without trace when reality hit, sadly.
That prick still owes me a tenner. Disappeared up his own arse when it was clear his prediction they would get promoted again went up in smoke.

Devon Lad… we wouldn’t have got promoted… we had no chance of beating Exeter Away to make the play offs.

Took him a few months to re appear.

Good fun though!

That one felt sweet. Bit of spice to it after the final day a couple of years ago and it feels cathartic to beat the Gas at Sixfields. I thought the Gas were pretty poor, so many times they just ran the ball out of play or misplaced passes. Thought we controlled it first half with both teams having flat periods, and having to mix up our defence in the second half left us shaky and let Rovers in.

Got a bit nervy at 2-1 but wow Marc Leonard what a hit. Far far too good for League 1.

Also enjoyed the Rovers fans giving it the 7 signs on their fingers at 3-1 down…gone well hasn’t it considering we’ve gone above them today. The futility of lower league football.
Missed the game as was at the theatre, pretty expected from us. Not sure there are any teams that could go away from home without a CM and win.

One thing I will say though, I’m much more comfortable losing 3-1 in our 2nd season in L1, than having to go through the feelings of Barrow ;)

If Evans and Conteh play in that game we would not have lost. We are making average teams looks decent at the moment, well all season really, roll on the summer.

Thing is we can say the same as we have the same-ish numbers out.

Both teams comfortable sailing towards a mid table finish. For us, im delighted with it, assuming Rovers fans were thinking of a playoff push this season?

Are all your injuries probable starters though? - i notice you ended the game with the 2 of the previously injured midfielders on the pitch.
Barton was promising a promotion push but then we started to suffer with most of his signings either out injured or unable to play more than 3 games in a row.
It's a case now of getting just limping over the line and letting Matt Taylor build his own squad in the summer. More dead rubbers than a whores bin which is an exciting prospect. Luckily im off to south america until the summer so wont have to witness any more of it.

Starters wise missing Burge, Odimayo, Sowerby, McWilliams and Hoskins so the spine of the team

I’m much more comfortable about being suicidal at Barrow knowing that we’re now above the team that benefited after less than 2 years!

We had 5 players playing who wouldn't normally start, along with a rookie keeper, and some of them arent even 2nd choice. We have been poor all season though and leak goals for fun so no excuses

Yeah definitely seemed we patched it up better with our team of ringers

I think we were expecting ourselves to be dark horses tbh yeah.

The squad is unbelievably unbalanced. I’d argue that our first 11 could easily be top 6, but the problem is they just can’t stay fit. I guess that’s why they’re playing for us…
