Josh Gordon got 6 goals in the league last season...
He's got 7 in 9 league games so far...
so far so good - and almost half way to safety ;)

Really happy to get a clean sheet after having our box bombarded with long balls for ninety minutes. Like what was posted above, they had very little technical ability - that Piergianni needs sending back to Blackpool beach. They won't be up there at the end of the season as they have absolutely nothing upfront. Once they come up against teams who can't be bullied they'll struggle.

As for us, I thought we were decent without really breaking too much of a sweat. Cook continued his great form with another two goals. Wright looked fantastic and deserved his man of the match. Chapman looked threatening. Thought both Platt and Odusina handled the physical aspects of the game really well. I don't think we had anyone who didn't put a shift in. Hughes got his subs spot on, too; Oliver looked good and both Songo'o and Sutton did their jobs well. More of the same please, City.
Have to say our Barrow friends on here are spot on about Platt, with his Rugby background he is all about the physical battle. His best performances have been against direct, physical teams he isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty and wins everything in the air. I like how he has a shirt pull in him as well, something other teams often do to us but we’ve been soft for years. We’ve brought a bit of shithousery into our game last few matches which is good to see and Smallwood and Platt are fantastic and toeing the line.

if Cook can keep scoring a few goals Platt will get you promoted (in 3rd behind Orient and Barrow).
Platt is a player who will play higher and will get better with age - and L1 won't be the highest he eventually gets either.

Yep. Missed a player like that for some time. I loved the little bit of shithousery. Apparently, the Stevenage commentators were having a go. Loved it!

I can see him playing higher. If Paudie O'Connor can then Matty can.

Surprising number of teams on a point a game or less so far, some fancies sides in there as well.

Crawley were really really poor today. Sat back for 80 minutes looking for a 0-0. Very toothless, which is a shock since Telford was the top scorer in the league last season, but off that performance I think we definitely got the better Newport striker in Baker-Richardson. That being said we still wernt great and are very much a work in progress, we did everything possible to try and concede a late goal.
Seems to be our way of setting up for away games and let's be honest. Every game this season we have been out shot by the opposition. We could have Haaland up front but until we start shooting we aint going to score many.

The after match reports from our side are saying Baker- Richardson should have been sent off in the first half. Seems he was already on a yellow and committed a foul that should have been a no brainer second yellow. Not at the game, not seen it but some frustrated Crawley players are being very careful about what they are saying about the ref.

Without question, lost the entire fan base, probably let him get back to County Durham tonight and pan him Sunday.

your issue when we played you was midfield, there was nothing there, slow pace and a lack of ideas.

Clearly you watch your side more than i do and the above could be bollocks, but just looked as if there was no element of surprise about you.
No pretty much hit the nail on the head, I think it’s more down to the manager than the personal

Platt my man of the match today. He was immense. As we expected Stevenage launched it into the box at every opportunity and Platt won just about everything. Stand out defender for us so far this season

Very good performances from Tyriek Wright and the Cookie monster too

Aye, shoulder shrugs, lip out, narky responses to softball questions, he knows the gig is up, still only 25% at blame for the season so far, we both know where the rest lies.

Mad to think it's only two months ago certain elements of the Hartlepool fanbase were wanking themselves over the fact his name sounded a bit like Hartlepool or something. And now they want him sacked.

And certain elements of the Stockport fanbase were wanking themselves over how easy this league was going to be, even we've beat fucking Harrogate this season!

They just haven’t hit form this season. The quality of the league is no better. Definitely not. No way. Same. Definitely.

Shite at the moment lads. There are some on Challinor's back and we have understimated the league in terms of who we've kept on and recruited. Really nothing special.

If it carries on into the winter, it isn't out of the question he does get the shove. I wouldn't personally, still think he's a very good manager. The tools he has are just a bit blunt for this task at this moment.

In defence of Hartley(don’t ask me why), Chan had a taste of Lge2 He didn’t.
We found out for ourselves last season how difficult a league it can be.
There are clubs including yourselves who have had far more dosh to
throw at it. Than us. Doesn’t guarantee anything.
It can be a tough league, easier to stay in than getting promoted I think.
But it’s a slippery slope, If you can’t stop it.

It's more difficult but in a boring, mundane way. The teams we play don't actually seem that good, they don't really impress from a footballing point of view but they do the basics better than NL which you would expect.

The problem is when you've been hooked on the Vanarama gear for years, you really do become an addict. I am missing it. Always a story. Fuck all happens in this league. Is there even a derby in this league this season? It's dead. Why do Crawley play Crewe every week?

You look a good side, certainly played worse last season. We should have had a pen, the Baudry foul that wasn’t given was a nailed on pen but if it had got us a point we would have robbed you. I have zero clue as to what we are set up to play, I honestly thought after the Northampton game we had finally sorted things out but that team and today’s are decades apart
Totally agree. I have to say that you were the poorest side we have played this season and that includes Rochdale and Gillingham who were bot appalling. Having said that I thought Lindsey got our tactics spot on today by moving the ball constantly but at a faster pace than we did at Gillingham. If we had got a second then we could have gone on and got 3 or 4. Coming together nicely for us with a strong bench today and competition for places. Looking forward to a nice day out in Cleethorpes next week

Solid three points for us today. We made hard work of it but other than a defensive lapse that led to a goal, Wimbledon didn't really trouble us.

We continue to need about three sitters for every goal we score but we were at least better today. Cracking strike from Callum Guy.

This is not a relegation side. It may fall short of being a promotion threat but its not relegation standard.

Don’t think anybody has said they want him sacked but if you’ve got a top three budget and you’re looking like a side that’s going to be in a relegation battle then you’re going to be under a lot of pressure.

Once again nobody said there isn’t a difference overall but not much difference between bottom half of League Two and top half of the NL.

I maintain that is the case.

I thought we were poor today. I watched a replay of Tuesdays match and we were decent, we definitely went down a level from that today and it was a quite awful watch really, not helped by a terrible referee.

But I agree, we’ll have enough to stay up. Defensively we’re solid enough for that, even when we don’t play well. Although I don’t think performances like today will be enough to beat top half sides.
