The main issue I guess is if 30% of squads on average are not vaccinated even a single case or two rules 6 or 7 out from the offset as they have to isolate as contacts?
I read somewhere it was around the 25% mark, certainly in the PL. IMO questions should be asked as to why so many professionals have choosed not to get jabbed. This figure is well above the national average and I find it strange that that is the case if these reported numbers are correct.

Something that still wrangles with me is that early doors last season we were forced by the FL to play a game at Salford with only 10 players available and had to draft in youth team players to make the number up. Other clubs were allowed put their games off but we were told we had to "forefill the fixture". Ok we got a highly creditable draw in the game but it still stank IMO

Sounds like our game is gonna be off with Bristol Rovers having lots of infections
We are now down to just about 11 players. 10 are injured and another 7 have covid. Looks like if we have to play we will have no subs.

FGR and mansfield off

Its FGR end that got it postponed isn’t it? I heard their manager saying everything is fine the other day but obviously it’s something that can quickly change.

Yeah it’s them, as you say very odd.

It’s not like they’re on a poor run of form or anything.

The thing is, even if our game this evening is still on, I know from experience getting Covid that you’re all fine the night before, then you wake up the next morning and you know straight away something isn’t right - something feels different and within a few hours it hits hard.

So I wouldn’t be shocked to arrive in Liverpool at 11.30 tomorrow only to find it’s a wasted trip.

having said that - neither ourselves or Tranmere have done any previews or manager press conferences.

We released our press conference where Covid was even discussed half hour before it was P-P!

Our game postponed, too.

Ramp up scaremongering and increase PCR cycles and this is what the result is.

Perpetual cycle.
Fucking fanstastic.

Last time we had covid cancellations, our form plummeted and we dropped 13 places during and immediately after the postponements... not sure our form can get much worse.

At least you can’t drop 13 places

Amazing how no one had an outbreak this season and suddenly half of teams in every division has gone down in the past week.

Probably good news for us, we have 10 injuries and with 7 players now with Covid, we should be in a better position after Christmas

I agree. Just how many L1 and L2 sides had games called off this season due to covid before this weekend? I can only think of Harrogate and that was back in August or September.

I dunno but it does seem a tad dodgy.

Our game at Colchester at the beginning of September was postponed due to a COVID outbreak.

Trendsetters.

Surely matches postponed now is a good thing for us. Our team can’t get much worse, so the more games pushed forward to January onwards where by then we can at least attempt to put together a half competent squad, the better.

Exactly...we are unbeaten in nine games...so hardly a team that would need, or welcome, a break in playing. We already had one game in hand, this will potentially take it up to three...not sure if our game on Boxing Day will go ahead either, if players have to isolate for ten days, that must be in doubt. Clearly, we aren't the only club facing a potential backlog of fixtures...could make the last couple of months of the season interesting.

Well, who knows, but if that R number for Omicron is right and there's loads of players not vaccinating, likely enough strikes me.

Well sure, this Omicron thing is nasty business indeed but I still have my doubts over the number of postponed games. 6 games in L1 and 8 in L2 so far and more could be called off in the morning. I'm no expert but during the week I was thinking there'd be 4 or 5 postponed games at the most across the two divisions.

Let's all look forward to a repeat of that PPG'ed 2019/20 season.

I bet Scunny are gutted as we had all those free coaches laid on by Wael. WOuld have been a very decent following.
Cant see many fancying the bright lights of Scunthorpe on a cold Tuesday night...

You lot should know more about that than us. Game in hand takes us into the autos. Terrible position to be in.

I’m not keen on his football but, fair play, he’s played a bad hand fairly well.

Why are you lot so obsessed with ex managers and ex players?
Calm down lad I was only saying Covid seems to hit when he is on a bad run. I think you can agree 3 league defeats in a row is a bad run despite your league position.
It probably saved him from getting the chop sooner with us.

We haven’t had 3 league defeats in a row.
