That’s just it though, this has fuck all to do with left or right wing. It’s a public health issue.

I, like a lot of people, want to be able to get on with life and or ‘learn to live with Covid’ as it were. To do that and avoid more lockdowns and unnecessary deaths people have to maybe do a few slightly inconvenient things that under normal circumstances they wouldn’t. It’s not a lot to ask really is it.

The anti vax conspiracy mob are gonna be the ones that ruin our economy for years.

Chris none of us have a fucking clue what we are talking about so let’s not pretend otherwise.

Port Vale, as far as I can tell, have also restricted their capacity to 9,999... they just haven't made it official... but if they sell 9,999 tickets for a game then they can't sell any further tickets without having to make further restrictions.

Of all the clubs who have capacities over 10,000 but average gates under 10,000 we have been the quickest to announce that this is an official capacity reduction, probably because out of all of them we're the least likely to sell over 10,000. Vale maybe are leaving the door open to the possibility of selling more but that creates uncertainty for fans, that they might buy a ticket only for it later to be announced that they need to prove their Covid status.

There's a chance I suppose that the government might decide that if your stated capacity is over 10,000 then even if you only sell 5,000; restrictions have to apply, but I doubt it'll come to that.
I think you've got it right on the low chance of getting over 10,000 this season - unless the team has a huge makeover in January then wins ever game the only chance of a 10k crowd would be if there was a huge away following in the last game and you needed a "Jimmy Glass" moment to stay up.

Love it. “The evidence for face coverings is nil”.

How does one know? By Twitter of course and posts a video from Twitter to prove it.

Meanwhile, for those of us who actually work in healthcare - we use evidence to back up our opinions, not social media.

Mods, can we not ban people for spreading Covid misinformation?

“Only one observational study has directly analyzed the impact of mask use in the community on COVID-19 transmission. The study looked at the reduction of secondary transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in Beijing households by face mask use (10). It found that face masks were 79% effective in preventing transmission, if they were used by all household members prior to symptoms occurring. The study did not look at the relative risk of different types of mask.

Three games off in the Championship on Saturday already. Burnley v Watford off plus Man U from last night.
I'll be surprised if all 12 games go ahead.

have they all been due to outbreaks in the camps though?

Have there been any outbreaks in L2 so far?

Maybe a case that Thomas Frank is right here... would a postponement for this weekend across the board make sense to allow clubs to deep clean and get Boxing Day more likely to go ahead.

Loads of clubs seems to be struggling with it, Rotherham have a few as well.

We've swapped our meet the player night players to ones banned or injured to avoid risking losing Pett and Gibbons to Covid.

Assuming that our game with Barrow goes ahead then I fancy us to win. Having to play yesterday (regardless of how terrible Ipswich were) gives us a huge advantage. That is without even factoring in our home form which has been fantastic. Going with a 2-0 win and the momentum continues.

Just seen, hope everyone impacted is ok. From a footballing perspective it sucks as well, a clear advantage we had from a scheduling perspective this week has gone. I would assume the rearranged fixture will be a Tuesday which means less Barrow fans enjoying the delights of Northampton...

haha exactly. As much as I would love to defend our 3 completed stands, the multitudes of fast food places around the ground and the delight that is the lift tower in the background, I cannot. Still, its our dump!

Think we're just best scrapping this season and not having promotion/relegation in any division

I see it's already posted but Crawley v Oldham off due covid in the Crawley squad.

The last week of figures show 795 cases of covid in the Borough of Crawley. Roughly 120,000 people here.

If only we could scrap every season before January, when we have our mid-season slump and see our better players sold.

I think so, we had to take it on the chin a couple of seasons ago when it was off so this makes sense to even it out.
It would be typical. Two seasons ago, we were in the top three until the last game before it stopped, when we lost to Walsall and went below that.
Two games ago, we were second....

I'm sure it can't happen again

Hypothetically if our game goes ahead, we beat Vale (unlikely) and then the season ends, Vale would drop out of the top three on PPG

To be replaced by Swindon...imagine if us winning that game sends Swindon up

We were in the play offs heading into the last game, drew with Cheltenham and dropped out missing the play offs. We were seething at the time of the game as we were awarded a penalty by the referee which was over turned by the linesman... In the end although no one knew at the time that was the difference between play offs and not!

With out injuries you will surely fancy beating us Saturday. We have no strikers! (Rodney may make it but unsure on that). We may still only have one attacker available including wingers in Politic.

The EFL are saying clubs have to play if they have 14 registered players available (inc 1 keeper).

Depends on what counts as a registered player I suppose. Our scholars appear to have squad no’s so do they count?

Think it says they have to have played at least one league game
