I am started to get confused now. Why have Carlisle reduced capacity? I thought it was about attendance, which is why Port Vale aren't requiring them.
I have mine on my phone in any case
I think there is some confusion over it. Even Vale dont sound sure on their updated Covid guidance issued yesterday and say they will work it game by game.

Who'd have thought this nasty old tory over here is siding with Jeremy Corbyn and the leftie muppets are siding with 'the worst and most right wing Government ever'

heheheh

In order to try and avoid spreading a disease that has killed millions of people around the world whilst at the same time trying to keep everything running as close to normal as possible whilst not overwhelming the NHS, people are being asked to have a couple of small jabs or if they can't even cope with that at least test themselves before they go into crowded areas. It's just common sense. Stop whining like a snowflake and get the fuck on with it.

It's just an app, we have had it here for ages and it's fine. You need it everywhere and it's just a minor inconvenience. I wouldn't want it forever but I'll put up with it until we have a better handle on covid variants and global vaccine equality.

I don't like talking politics on here but ironic the right wing are getting all snowflakey about this yet are very happy to have bills going through that reduce your human rights and freedom of movement yet cry fucking nazi Germany about covid passes.

Carlisle are trending on Twitter because the anti-everything mob think they've reduced capacity to appease them, rather than it just being a way of avoiding having to check a load of people's phones.

Didn’t realise Barrow played tonight. Bit of extra time would be lovely, get them nice and knackered for Saturday.

1) It's an open space. The evidence is pretty clear on the transmissions there.
2) By all means jab people high risk - Telling a teenager they have to either have a medical procedure that is more likely to cause them harm than the 'deadly disease' itself is incomprehensible otherwise they will be discriminated against based on their medical records forcing them to take a test, when a jabbed person can also catch it and spread it, is utterly appalling and unforgivable. Get the gold stars out, Chris. (And I think we know what I'm referencing, rather than giving yourself a pat on the back and a gold star for your sheer ignorance)
3) Your assertion that the disease has killed millions of people around the world is at best, laughable. Approx 5 million people have died with it, not of it.

I understand why you don't like talking politics on here - Not just because it's a football forum, but because you have no idea what you're talking about. 170 countries in the world don't have freedom of movement, are they all 'fucking nazi germany'? The reduction of human rights reference is equally laughable when under this Government our 'human rights' well quash that of the kangeroo style courts of the EU. Minimum wage, paternity pay, annual pay. The list is endless.

Can you lot piss off with the political side of things somewhere else, left wing, right wing, boring boring.
It's pretty relevant (for once) given the fact football teams are now enforcing draconian and discriminatory measures on their fanbase which will come into force this weekend.

Draconian. You soft shite. How cosy must your little world be. Do you write green ink complaints to TB wards too in your bold fight against discrimination?

Yep, trolling just like the tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands that'll be in London protesting. Trolling as much as the South African scientists, trolling as much as Jeremy Corbyn, trolling that our civil liberties are meaningless, trolling with Gary Nevile and the entirety of the hospitality industry, trolling that discrimination is bad and trolling that there is zero evidence any of these measures help despite Scotland / Wales having mask mandates parallel similar rates to no mask mandate in England, trolling like the French Covid Passport success. Just one big troll.

That’s just it though, this has fuck all to do with left or right wing. It’s a public health issue.

I, like a lot of people, want to be able to get on with life and or ‘learn to live with Covid’ as it were. To do that and avoid more lockdowns and unnecessary deaths people have to maybe do a few slightly inconvenient things that under normal circumstances they wouldn’t. It’s not a lot to ask really is it.

The anti vax conspiracy mob are gonna be the ones that ruin our economy for years.

There is zero evidence 'covid passports' work - The evidence of 'face coverings' working is nil - Checking peer reviewed science, the proper medical masks ever so slightly help other people, not yourself, when worn correctly. If you're going to mandate masks, be consistent rather than just doing it on public transport and in shops, where the majority of germs are spread through touching the same things (items in shops being put back and on buses where people are pushing the same button to stop the bus). Having someone put a ridiculous cloth in front of their mouth (not a surgical mask) to nip in the shop and buy 20 cigs isn't stopping any lockdowns or 'unnecessary deaths'. Covid passports categorically do not stop the spread, deaths or hospitalisations in any way, see France and any other country for details that have implemented them. The Government have admitted this, and have now come out and said it's to boost business confidence! Contrary to this, the hospitality industry is getting absolutely annihilated Tom Kerridge "Here we are… This is the list of cancellations taken in one of our restaurants in the past six days… 654 guests"

Sacha Lord, the Night Time Economy Adviser for Greater Manchester has said every business he's spoke to now are facing mass cancellations.

6 million jobs rely on Hospitality in the UK! It's one of our largest sectors of our entire economy.

A third of the jobs in Bristol rely on the night time economy. So a few 'inconvenient things' are having a devastating effect on our economy, that's ignoring what might be 'inconvenient' to you might be much more of a big deal to others. Anxiety sufferers, confrontation and abuse from both shop staff and medically exempt people.

Quite frankly your remarks are utterly offensive, ill-informed and discriminatory.

We're suffering on and off the pitch for Saturday at Tranmere - Darren Pratley (banned), Hector Kyprianou, Tom James, Omar Beckles to go with Paul Smyth and Callum Reilly all out injured.

We're likely to have to play a youngster in central midfield and we literally don't have any proper cover for the RWB position we play - So Theo Archibald is likely to be moved over to the right side and Connor Wood will come in on the left side - Jackett seems reluctant to play Wood but IMO he has to on Saturday.

Our 4-0 win over Rovers two weeks ago is very, very unlikely to happen again and despite us drawing most of our away games, a point here won't be a disaster.

Off the pitch quite a few of our fans have come down with Covid and quite a few people who planned on going Saturday now aren't. I already caught and recovered from it 4 months ago, so hoping those antobodys keep me from getting it again for a bit longer.......As it stands I will be making the trip.

Long poke in the arse for us at Colchester, we've had two poor home performances under Lee but a good points return, wouldn't be too disappointed with a point here, it'll keep us plugging away until January rolls round and we can make some signings.

Yes of course it’s a shit situation, no one’s denying that. The idea is to end it asap rather then covering your ears and letting it drag on forever. I go to local pubs, bars and restaurants whenever possible to try and support local businesses, but I also got jabbed so that I don’t spread the virus and if needed take the odd test. You ain’t helping pubs if you bring covid in. Refusing to get jabbed and marching around together like bellends doesn’t do anything to help struggling businesses either.

The best way to get all this bollocks out of the way is to get jabbed. If pretty much everyone had done that then there would be no need for the rest of this shit. The only reason people now need covid passes is because of too many swallowing the conspiracy shite. End of.

It has to be capacity over attendance; how would basing it on attendance even work? Once the 10,000th person enters the ground then the stewards have to go round checking everyone's Covid status?

Me too. No need to reduce capacity. Just restrict ticket sales.
Otherwise known as reducing capacity

I really don't see why this has created such confusion.

Just to hopefully set-Devonlad's mind at rest, vaccination is not, never has been and is unlikely to ever be mandatory... requiring people to either have a vaccine or a negative test before attending certain events is not the same thing as vaccines being mandatory, no matter how much he wishes it was.

I presume that he also thinks it's an egregious trespass against human rights that you have to prove you have no criminal record before you're allowed to work with children.

I cant see the UK doing it, im surprised some EU countries have made it mandatory if I am honest and will be interesting to see how that pans out.

Its like those moaning about the vaccines inputting tracking devices when they have a Smart Phone though... ultimately if you really dont want it or have medical reasons fair enough but some reasons are bonkers.

My wife had a blood clot and then a stroke from the first two doses... still had her (all be it different manufactured) booster a couple of weeks ago. Risks with anything you do but its hardly comparable to National Socialism. They are not throwing the unvaccinated in ghetto's for Christs sake just want you to take a test!

Vaccine passes are nothing new in a lot of countries.

If you travel to Nigeria for example from certain countries you need a yellow fever vaccine certificate. Don’t see people protesting on the streets about that.

They seem to think that the 9,999 capacity is some sort of deliberate attempt to show how ridiculous the 10,000 limit is. They aren't the brightest people though so explaining to them that you have to draw the line somewhere doesn't work; they seem to think that someone somewhere has said that the chance of 9,999 people causing an outbreak is zero but add an extra person and that becomes a hundred percent.

I presume they also think speed limits are stupid because the chance of killing someone doesn't drop to zero at 30mph versus going at 30.1mph.

Vaccine passes are nothing new in a lot of countries.

I went to Kenya around 12 years ago or so. Before I went I had to be vaccinated against Yellow fever. Seemed a perfectly reasonable request to us, yellow fever has killed millions and the Kenyan government don't want tourists swanning around the place picking it up and passing it around.

Ask Port Vale
Port Vale, as far as I can tell, have also restricted their capacity to 9,999... they just haven't made it official... but if they sell 9,999 tickets for a game then they can't sell any further tickets without having to make further restrictions.

Of all the clubs who have capacities over 10,000 but average gates under 10,000 we have been the quickest to announce that this is an official capacity reduction, probably because out of all of them we're the least likely to sell over 10,000. Vale maybe are leaving the door open to the possibility of selling more but that creates uncertainty for fans, that they might buy a ticket only for it later to be announced that they need to prove their Covid status.

There's a chance I suppose that the government might decide that if your stated capacity is over 10,000 then even if you only sell 5,000; restrictions have to apply, but I doubt it'll come to that.

Ask Port Vale

We have stated we don't expect any 10,000 crowds including the Brentford cup tie so wont require the Covid Pass.

I assume if it looks like for that one we will as its the only one with any chance of hitting that figure in the days before depending on sales then we will either stop sales or apply the Covid pass requirement for that game only.

As I've mentioned before, I've been living in China for years. I'm somewhere rural north of Beijing and we had a full village lockdown for a month after one case - no-one in or out that whole time. You have to scan a tracker code on your phone still to go into a bank or the tax office, masks are mandatory on buses etc etc, and this with a far lower incidence rate than anywhere in Europe, maybe precisely because it was draconian despite the sage of Devon (via whatever latest bollocks he's read on Reddit) reckons. I'm no epidemiologist so not like I know for sure, but odd that a country with far worse public health that started the whole bloody thing has controlled it so much more effectively. Even if they're covering up whole loads of cases there's no way it's as bad as at home, you couldn't hide that sort of outbreak even here.

I guess the big possibility is if you beat Brentford and then get a juicy home tie in the 4th round. Not a possibility for us as we foresaw the situation ahead and withdrew from the FA cup in the 2nd round.
