Finally got to Rodney Parade. Our players looked knackered in the second half. Still, we're one of three unbeaten teams in the league.

I enjoyed my visit to Newport although accommodation providers leave much to be desired. My digs were cancelled just before I parked up. Is it me?

The locals are so friendly. I wandered into the city centre for some grub and numerous folk wearing Newport shirts stopped for a chat having seen my Wimbledon shirt.

James Tilley, what a signing!

That's our chant, originally started at Orient away years ago when we had the Aalst supporters over from Belgium with us and it was "We're Aalst and Grimsby, who the fuck are you?" Then became "We're all from Grimsby, who the fuck are you?".
I’m all for teams having their own songs but those stolen from elsewhere definitely have their place. That bloody putting on a show one is annoying, but it’s kind of acted as a gateway drug for us in getting the atmosphere up and encouraging people to sing other stuff as well. Well, that and the football‘s helped a bit as well.

Both not had enough minutes or pre-season and clearly way off it. Clarke really stood out not being up to speed today but we had no choice but to play him really.

Swan will get up to speed, just need a goal and he could be off.

We’ve still got a decent starting XI but we’re buggered after that, it would be a travesty if once again were fucked due to the same after last season.

Least we’ve another 7 days before we play again.

Yeah that one's doing my head in as well now. It was being sang non-stop away at Donny last season and it was one of the first times I'd heard it and was enjoying it but I didn't realise how many other teams were doing it as well. Your playoff final was ridiculous for it, both sets of fans doing it non-stop.

Really annoys me too like a catchy pop song but it guarantees atmosphere as the playoff final showed.

I'm a traditionalist love unique individual songs for each club but right now I'm delighted to see big crowds, young supporters and generic songs employed by all.

The atmosphere at Meadow Lane is bizarre. Feel like I’ve spent most of my adult life apologising to visitors (mainly Forest fans) or trying to convince away fans it’s simply ‘bad acoustics’ - but it’s been really enjoyable this season on all sides (even the Pavis is generating some noise) and kind of just shows where the club is at that people don’t have much to moan about (it’ll become a half empty toxic place is we lose a few games but y’know enjoy it while it lasts)

That “putting on a show” one we were singing away at Bradford last year and I cannot put into words just how utterly shit we actually played that day.

And that first 45 minutes performance at Donny was probably even worse than our performance at Bradford although thankfully the second 45 was complete dominance.

Maybe it’s an age thing, I hate that one too.

1st test pass in a wildly entertaining game against a strong Stanley side, difference in the end was Langstaff with two superb finishes.

The BTTS bets have been very profitable so far this season that's to fantastic attacking prowess and shoddy defending. However I do not like this slate of fixtures but will try and find another winning treble.

Tranmere, Crewe and Walsall perhaps?

I was right, did not like this slate of fixtures and badly let down by many.

Well that was utter, utter shit.
Players strolling around with little or no urgency, simple passes being put straight out of play and gifting Grimsby two goals.
Ehmer switched off and lost his man from a corner and then Ogie giving the ball away on the edge of his own box.
Played two wingers who never tucked in meant we were totally overrun in the middle of the park.
To be fair, Grimsby were pretty decent but fuck me did we make it easy for them.
Harris coming under pressure from a fair few of our fans now.
Unless we pick up in the next two home games he could be in trouble.

Great 2nd half from the Alex, though to be fair you could see the signs in the last 15 minutes of the 1st half, we seemed to be breaking through MK, 2nd half, we just enforced our game all over them, could have been more than 3. I thought Harvey Davies looked solid, he didn't have loads to do but he looked a keeper you can trust, tough when you are learning on the job.

Special mention to Cheshire Police who have leaned on the club and threatened closure of the Gresty Road End. Thus forcing the club to make the ridiculous desicon of making under 17's who are not season ticket holders in the GRE only allowed entry if accompied by an adult! The police are admitting they can't police or will not police, so if a brawl breaks out in a random pub somewhere, are the police then going to suggest all 18-21 years will have to be accompanied by adults, are they balls. The police are ruinning a good atmosphere that was building and costing the club revenue, I hope the club drop this policy and tell the bizzies to do one.

A win for Wrexham but Tranmere really were dire. Comfortably the worst team we've played this season and at 6.5 I think I will be betting on them to go down. A clinical team would have been 3-4 goals up.

Hate to say it but well done to Notts County who must be laughing at the whole 'the national league is a pub league you'll really struggle this year' comments from some.

I thought those kids behind the goal on the opening day were funny, young exuberant and enjoying their football, they’d also run a mile at the first hint of any bother. Not that it should be viewed that there would be trouble anyway.

Daft the police are doing that if so.

Only 6 games in. Whoever is top or bottom makes no difference.

Did you spot the rogue ball in the goalmouth? John Coleman demanding play should’ve been halted with Langstaff clean through on goal, almost a bit disappointed it didn’t happen, would’ve caused bedlam.
Missed it the first time but just watched it back. Would have been very harsh to disallow that but technically I guess Coleman is right, but one of those laws that isn't gonna get enforced unless it's rolling across the box or something.

Well I'm glad to hear we're no longer the worst team the mighty Wrexham have faced so far.

Must be a different Newport to the one I went to 2 years ago. There was a full scale riot with it kicking off all over the centre. Coppers, Dogs and two sets of supporters battling it out. You must have gone on a half day closing.
