I know for a fact that is what the EFl advised. I assume the club will make that known in the coming days. This came from the same person (club employee) who told me about our Covid problems, which if you scroll back a couple of pages, you will see I mentioned way before it came out on social media. You don’t have to believe me, but you will see in the coming days.I'm not really buying that the EFL advised not to test the whole squad for 5 days, I know they have their faults, but that seems far fetched. Beckles obviously thought that was rubbish too, as he organised his own test.
What you are failing to realise is that when Wintle tested positive, he had already unkowingly passed the virus around the Crewe squad, probably 5 days before.
In regards to isolating, this is also the government advise. You only have to self isolate if told by test and trace, if you test positive, if you have symptoms, if you live/are in a support bubble with someone who tested positive, or if you come back from a country not on the travel corridor. None of this covers the Crewe squad in regards to Wintle. It actually doesn’t even cover them in regards to Beckles. Although I guess test and trace MAY be in touch with them in the coming days ie the people he sat with on the bus.
Anyway, I look forward to Oxford declaring a clean bill of health, and I praise the club for putting in place stringent Covid protocols (even if their own fans doubt their protocols).
