Gutted I didn't go to Barrow on Saturday, I couldn't justify taking a day off work for a game which may not of gone ahead. Instead I followed the game on social media and have never seen anything quite like it before, from sheer despondency to absolute euphoria in a matter of minutes, or the other way around on the Barrow sites.
Think this result is just papering over the cracks in Brabins tactics and team selections, although I hope I'm wrong and the team make a push for the play offs.

Just seen the Dover penalty, admittedly on my phone, and it looks a blatant dive to me.

Beevers clearly pulls out the of the challenge and their guy is already on his way down.

I saw it too, looked a dive. These things happen and eventually even themselves out over the course of the season. We were completely shafted twice in consecutive games earlier this season. An easy way to look for excuses, though.

To be fair, up until the last few weeks then it would have been ridiculous to even tout Harvey as a potential Tranmere boss. We were his first management job since leaving Stalybridige in 2013 - where he pulled up absolutely no trees in the Conf. North. So his last successful position would have been the FGR job he left in 2009? I'd be fairly confident in predicting, regardless of his status at Tranmere, your fanbase would have been disappointed in his appointment.

He has been absolutely excellent for us and is beyond a miracle worker. Only 2 of the side have changed since the dark days of the Cheltenham and Grimsby results yet we've been beyond transformed. He's put himself in a position now (in turning down an 18 month contract) that if he keeps us up, he will probably have a pick of 3 or 4 excellent jobs at this level when beforehand he wouldn't have had a sniff.

Will have worked out great for both of us, even if i am desperate for him to stay!
When I read he'd turned down the 18 month contact, my first thought was that he has one eye on watching developments at Tranmere.

Seems like the BT cameras joined the referee in missing Chester's penalty incident from Saturday - suprised they didnt show it to be honest.

Not many pitches would look great after being flooded twice in three weeks - our pitch was second best behind Bristol Rovers last season according to some national non-league awards. It'll be fine in a few weeks.

All tongue in cheek!

Especially when ours won't be in a great state come Saturday!

The likelihood is the cameramen included it in their highlights and BT cut it. They try to limit it to goals.

Yeah, perhaps.

As it turned out, the general consensus seems to be we actually played well but a dive and a 'keeper howler were our undoing.

As long as there was some sort of Positive Momentum™ to take from it then that's fine, I suppose.

I go to every game, so to travel all the way down there, in monsoon conditions spending a shed load to watch a ref and fat linesman lumber about making fecking shite decisions like today has me as pissed off as I can be. Jon McCarthy had to be dragged off by a steward at half time because of it.

The ref has come out and said no contact when Aldershot's keeper rugby tackled Mahon, yet he's ended up going to hospital with concussion. How did he get that then, from thin air? Shafted.

Rooney's annoyed me as well today, comes on an scores a great goal and then follows it up with the most diabolical corner pretty much assisting Aldershot's third goal.

In rant mode. :bg:

Yeh .... I didn't get back to Chester til Monday morning and I'm still angry at that non-penalty. I've supported Chester for 56 years and don't think I've ever seen such a stonewall penalty. The problem for me is that refs at this level can do what that imbecile Huxtable did with impunity. We're in a mess and will go down unless Burr (who is losing support) does not pull his finger out. We've a GK that can't catch anything above his head , Hattersley (who missed a sitter just before Rooney scored) is no better than Hobson and their 3rd goal came from our corner and Tractor Tom/Stroller Shaw (what a fucking useless excuse for a footballer this man is). Even our best player Hannah missed a simple lob for 1-0 after about 15 minutes. Despite this we should have been 1-0 at half time facing ten men.

I think you'll find that Mahon took that corner.

You bastards .... Mr Burr certainly believed the hogwash that Shaw was a player.
Well several Alfreton fans, me included have said we badly miss Tom Shaw midfield and would have him back in an heartbeat. He would be welcomed back with open arms.

Funny that isnt it. He is 1000 times more a player then that sorry excuse of a man by the name of Anthony Howell we had in midfield and in goal last season. Who is now quite rightly at Carlton Town 3rd bottom of the NPL South
