We lost our most influential and important player and then our head coach was headhunted by a Championship club.

Oh and Part Time Stu has done an incredible job to make this squads attacking options and talent so impotent so quickly. Impressive stuff.

You can talk your chances down all you like but when you are playing a team devoid of confidence and on a losing streak you are favourites.

47 points is enough right?
yes you're safe

Dreadful performance that seals our fate. Defence was shocking. Poor pitch, abysmal officials, nothing worth watching in the game.

Had doubts about the Rovers line-up today, unclear if the changes were tactical or down to injuries or fitness, maybe a mix. Good early goal from Hendry, sounded like Gillingham threw everything at us in the second half and no surprise they eventually levelled. The hosts had the ball in the net in added time but ruled out so at least we didn’t have the misery of losing in injury time for the fourth time this season.
Decent point, two more top seven opponent's next…

Thought County's penalty today was stonewall, but later on seeing the camera angle it wasn't a pen at all. Newport fans have every right to be irate over that; but no right to complain about the result. Easily the most negative side to come to EP for a good couple of years, literally no intent to attack and the keeper was timewasting from the third minute. He had a great game mind you, couple of excellent saves (particularly from his own defender) but it was largely antifootball going on. If you want to blame anyone, blame your outfield players before the officials

Pretty much just knocked the ball about nicely and shat ourselves at two set pieces, it's good to see the hits but I wouldn't mind something new every once in a while. Langstaff should have put us ahead and we might have eked out a result had that gone in but it is what it is.

I think I'm speaking for a lot of Notts fans when I say I'm not too fussed either way with Maynard, I don't believe any manager can save our defence but that doesn't mean he's the man for the long term. Injuries starting to bite a bit now too so it's going to be a real limp to the end of the season I reckon.

Artell’s gonna have a nice fine coming his way after that interview even though everything he says in it is correct.

We were poor today but got the job done, someone other than a poor Colchester side would've took advantage. A great set of results to go with and if we bring at least a point back from Walsall on Tuesday it would be even better.

Btw absolutely huge goal from Madden given other results at the top. 400+ minutes without a goal before then. If the squad can't use this to reinvigorate themselves then they want shooting

I’m massively fussed in that I hope Maynard is sacked as soon as possible. Wimbledon were utter shite today but we still contrived to create next to fuck all and let in 2 comedy goals.

He’s gotta go.

Won without being great, but what a goal from Gilbey for our second, easily the best part of our game.

On that showing I think Salford after a summer transfer window will challenge next year, they definitely impressed me at times today but we just had more quality.

Very fortunate win for us at Notts County. The only way we were going to score was through an own goal . We don't have enough up front to make the play offs but at least it keeps our season going. Defensively we are doing well considering we've had our best 2 centre Half's out for about 6 weeks .
Once Baldwin had to go off our defence was instantly garbage. A dead straightforward long throw into the box results in an own goal.
We are the worst team in the league right now, the manager will carry the can but I look at our squad and there are some glaring weaknesses.
Signed eleven players this season, only four are to the standard needed. Recruitment not good enough, head coach gets the blame.

Let's be honest, the result at Notts is no surprise. Jackson took the Wimbledon players through a series of tactical analysis videos throughout the week, Maynard had the lads running fibre optic cables into some new builds.

I think he's been quite clever tbh. FA can't touch him there, perhaps the Royal British Society of Milkmen might have a word but I can't see the FA being able to pin anything on him there.

Once again like Tuesday we struggled off the ball and controlling a game which is unusual for us but we still had plenty of chances.

Swindon goalie made a few great saves and a defender with a brilliant goal line clearance so another day we may have had a few more despite not playing very well, it’s encouraging we create so much while not at our best. Got to be said though that Swindon had some chances too and played reasonably well.

Swindon were one of the better sides i’ve seen at the stags this season, and we struggled massively with their pace as we did against MK tuesday.

Massive massively game to win though, we were under pressure and that swindon performance would’ve beaten nearly all sides today.

If you could ever pick a game to win then it would always have to be a massive massively one.

Also well done to this notts manager, we were reliably informed that the likes of “outdated” clough wouldn’t ever be considered at notts (not that he’d have dropped down anyway) but just curious how this new blokes getting on? seems to have already nailed consistency of results so quickly into the new role.

Top of the league and you still can't help but talk about the club you don't care about... Must be a nightmare for Chesterfield fans

Underrated win for us that is. Have grown to realise that at this level any 3 points away is a brilliant win.

Enjoy your season Adam, don't worry about us. We'll go again next season, the owners and recruitment team will learn from this season and we'll remain a bigger and better club than you for as long as we both exist.

Who reliably informed you of that? Don't be shy Adam, name and shame.

The Year of the Stag finally arrives, and with the usual choke job nowhere in sight and still talking about Notts. I'd fully expect that from Bargain Stag Abroad he has the battle scars from decades ago but disappointed to see it so evident from a comparative young. Stag.

Just a genuine question on how the new blokes getting on, no need to get all defensive (though i appreciate not a strong suit at notts) is he going to be there for the rest of the season? next year?

Sad to see those comments though, especially the “better” comment which in recent history is remarkably wide of the mark.

He is anything but a poor footballer for us! Absolutel leader who is is a goal threat and runs midfield. Maybe Bradford is just too Northern and grey for him!

Certainly strange to see such a contrast!
Pleased for Manny. Hope his form continues bar Tuesday of course. Had high hopes for him when he came. He looked good in pre season but 5 mins into his career with us suffered a double leg break which everyone bar the ref thought was a horrendous tackle. When he came back, his head and feet just didn't seem to be in sync. Looks like his move was good for you as well as us.

you still reckon you’ll make the playoffs?
