The 4th of July edition of Monday Night Raw kicks off by showing earlier today when the WWE stars are having a 4th of July party. The Vaudevillains were singing on stage and got food thrown at them, The Miz & Maryse interrupt and say that today is not about food fights, before a huge food fight breaks out. Kevin Owens hides under a table with a bag of chips, Big Cass drops a punch bowl over Bo Dallas, Big Show accidentally throws ribs at Kane and Heath Slater throws food at them both, which resulted in his getting double chokeslammed through a table. The WWE stars left the room, Owen emerged from under the table and claimed this wouldn't happen on Canada day, this was right before Owens got a pie in his face.

Lilian Garcia starts the show with the National Anthem.

1# Rusev (w/ Lana) bt. Titus O'Neil Via Submission to retain the WWE United States Championship
(Post-match, Rusev once again applied the accolade on Titus before grabbing a microphone and mockingly wished America a happy birthday before raising the title.)

2# Enzo Amore & Big Cass bt. Social Outcasts (w/ Heath Slater)

Charlotte and Dana Brooke are in the ring, Charlotte spoke of how everyone has been jealous of her for her entire life, she refers to Sasha Banks how she is jealous of her being the WWE Women's Champion before calling her all hype. Sasha Banks makes her way out, Sasha points out how Charlotte has never beaten her and claimed if it wasn't for Charlotte's "Daddy" at Wrestlemania, she wouldn't be the champion right now. Charlotte says that Sasha isn't even in the conversation, Sasha claims she is the conversation before speaking how she is a boss and that Charlotte's reign as champion is over. Dana attacks Sasha but Sasha easily tosses her aside. Charlotte connects with the boot to Sasha, Sasha was about to apply the bank statement on charlotte in reply but Dana pulled her out of the ring.

3# Dean Ambrose bt. The Miz (w/ Maryse) in a non-title "champion vs. champion" match
(Post-match, Seth Rollins interrupts Ambrose's celebration. Ambrose pats Rollins on the back as Rollins makes his way to the ring. Ambrose then turns around and sprints to the ring as Rollins gets read to fight, Ambrose then slows down and leaves the ring and makes his way to the commentary table for the next match.)

Brock Lesnar's WWE Summerslam opponent will be revealed this Thursday night on Smackdown.

4# Seth Rollins bt. Dolph Ziggler
(Dean Ambrose was on commentary for the match; Post-match, Seth Rollins grabs a mic and stands on the announce table, he once again called the career of Roman Reigns a joke and once again demands he be removed from the triple threat match at Battleground. Moments later, Ambrose stood on the opposite announce table, Rollins said that Ambrose stole the title away from him and Ambrose replied by saying he can have it right now as he threw the title belt at Rollins. Once Ambrose threw the title, he lept at Rollins and began to throw some right hands. He then threw Rollins over the announce table before hitting the Dirty Deeds on Rollins onto the announce table.)

The Wyatt Family come on-screen and address the New Day, they invite the New Day to visit where they come from and ends by saying "join us".

Vickie Guerrero makes her way out with a loud "EXCUSE ME", she spoke how Smackdown Live needs a "woman like me" and officially submits her name for the Smackdown job. She even claimed you can cast your vote of support by using #Vickie RunsSmackdownLive on Twitter. Security walks out and removes Vickie from the podium.

Backstage, we see the Big Show talking with Team USA (Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, Dudley Boyz, Kane, Zack Ryder and Apollo Crews) ahead of tonight's huge 16-man tag team elimination match.

5# The Golden Truth bt. The Vaudeviillains
(Featuring Breezango at ringside.)

We see another promo from Darren Young and Bob Backlund.

John Cena makes his way to the ring and spoke of AJ Styles, and how he now has to worry about the Club every time he setps in to the ring. He then challenged the Club to come to the ring. The Club made their way out and poked fun at Cena whining about things not going his way, Styles then made reference to how they ran Tokyo this past weekend and soon they will run the WWE but it can't happen until they get rid of Cena. Styles once again referred to the Club being his insurance policy incase Cena tried to bury him, Styles even went further to say that most WWE stars would love to beat up John Cena but they actually have the balls to do it. He tells Cena that they will beat him up every week, after the Club continue to make fun of the situation, they come and surround the ring. All 3 start attacking Cena before Enzo Amore and Big Cass make their way to the ring. Cena goes after Styles as Enzo and Big Cass go after Gallows and Anderson. Cena, Enzo and Big Cass clear the ring of the club.

We hear from the Shining Stars who put over Puerto Rico.

6# Becky Lynch bt. Summer Rae Via Submission

Backstage, we see Chris Jericho talking with Team World. Jericho wishes them all a happy belated Canada Day before Del Rio bemoans the idea of Jericho being captain. Everyone starts arguing with Owens breaking it up.

The WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day make their way to the ring and talk about the Wyatt Family being a bunch of hicks, with Big E insinuating some breeding. The Wyatt Family appear on the titantron and told them they can continue to make jokes or fight them like men. Wyatt said they will be waiting for them. Kingston accepted and said they will spread positivity all over the compound. Woods cuts them off and said everything up to now has been fun and games, but they don't see the threat that Bray Wyatt is to them and says he doesn't think that the New Day will survive. Woods drops his mic and leaves the ring.

It's announced that on July 24th at WWE Battleground, it will be Becky Lynch vs. Natalya, but also a huge six man tag team match has been signed as John Cena, Enzo Amore & Big Cass will take on The Club.

Kevin Owens hits Kane with a steel chair, Kane soon reciprocated this and found himself disqualified for using the chair.

9. Sami Zayn by Apollo Crews (3-4)

Kane hits a chokeslam on Zayn before leaving the ring, this lead to Crews with a moonsault to eliminate Zayn.

2# Blake & Murphy vs. The Hype Bros ended in a No Contest
(Rhyno returns and gores everyone in the ring other than Buddy Murphy who walks away from the ring. After the commercial, Rhyno is walking away and is asked why he has returned, but he walked away without giving a comment.)

Smackdown opens with shots from earlier today with the Club talking inaudibly, Chris Jericho assuring us that Sami Zayn is going to get "IT", with Zayn responding by saying Jericho will have to settle for being second best. We also see Seth Rollins arriving to the arena and bumps in to Jey Uso and talks trash about the family, Jey Uso responds before challenging Seth Rollins to a match tonight.

Dean Ambrose makes his way to the ring and introduces himself as the special guest ring announce for the match.

1# Seth Rollins bt. Jey Uso
(Post-match, Rollins demanded that Ambrose announce him as the winner which he does by announcing him as the human equivalent of a root canal and still a jackass, "slimy" Seth Rollins. Ambrose gets in the ring to do it closer but Rollins retreats up the ramp.)

2# Zack Ryder bt. Sheamus
(Post-mach, Tom Phillips interviews Ryder on the stage and asked what's next after these couple of victories, and Ryder said his intention was to regain the WWE United States Championship. He spoke of how the current champion doesn't respect America so he will challenge him for the title. Sheamus approaches as Ryder leaves.)

After a video package featuring Baron Corbin and his path of victory and destruction since Wrestlemania, we go backstage with Rusev who said he can't stand Ryders' challenge from afar. He challenged Ryder to challenge him face-to-face this monday night on Raw, he might prove that not all Americans are cowards, but Rusev said he will prove all Americans are losers.

Becky Lynch makes her way to the ring for a match when Natalya attacks her from behind, and applies the sharpshooter.

Enzo Amore and Big Cass make their way to the ring and spoke of about what they did on Raw, they claimed they did not do it to save John Cena, it wasn't about some personal issue with the club, they wanted to send a message. The message was that if they come and beat up John Cena every week, what's stopping them from doing it to us. AJ Styles and the Club make their way out and said they should beat up Enzo and Cass as Cena is not here, then they can go BEAT UP JOHN CENA. AJ Styles sends a message of coming to the ring to "shut your mouth", Big Cass challenges Styles to come to the ring to do it but Styles says he was talking to Enzo who was accepting of the challenge.

3# AJ Styles (w/ Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson) bt. Enzo Amore (w/ Big Cass)
(Karl Anderson grabs the leg of Enzo, but Big Cass stops him. Big Cass and Luke Gallows then hit a big boot on each other as Styles hit Enzo with the Styles clash to get the 3.)

Chris Jericho is backstage looking for his blue scarf when he finds it on Kevin Owens, Owens said he is thinking of buying one for his wife but Jericho berates him ruining a $750 scarf. Jericho tells him to give him money, Owen pours change in to the hands of Y2J before wishing him luck in his match tonight and told him he will be at ringside.

4# The Miz (w/ Maryse) bt. Kalisto in a non-title match

We see another life lesson from Bob Backlund to Darren Young who speaks of being problem-free and have to make your problems submit to your will, and spoke about him being the master of the crossface chicken wing as it belongs to everyone who wants to fight for what they believe in.

We see an announcement from Booker T and Corey Graves that Randy Orton will return at Summerslam to face Brock Lesnar.

5# Sami Zayn bt. Chris Jericho
(Post-match, Jericho hit the codebreaker on Zayn. Kevin Owens then got in to the ring and beat up Zayn before hitting him with a pop-up powerbomb.)

Monday Night Raw opens with WWE Superstars in the ring, The Miz stands on the commentary table and welcomes us to the 98th day of his Intercontinental Championship reign, and spoke how we are about to witness a Battle Royal to determine the #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship at Battleground, he wishes them luck but claimed it doesn't matter who wins because he will win at Battleground.

1# Darren Young won a Battle Royal to become the #1 Contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
(Featuring The Miz & Maryse on commentary; participants were - Bubba Ray Dudley, D-Von Dudley, Darren Young, Aiden English, Simon Gotch, Konnor, Viktor, Baron Corbin, Goldust, Jack Swagger, R-Truth, Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler and Apollo Crews.)

Shane and Stephanie McMahon are backstage and speculating why their father is coming to the show tonight. Seth Rollins walks in and says he has footage they need to see about Roman Reigns, Shane tells him he can show it on the Ambrose Asylum. Rollins said he wanted to do the Rollins Report instead, Stephanie liked it and allowed it.

After seeing photos from Brock Lesnar defeating Mark Hunt from this past weekend at UFC 200, we see a video from his press conference and spoke of returning to the ring to take on Randy Orton at Summerslam, he mentioned Orton at the conference and Orton will be a special guest on Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel at WWE Battleground.

Zack Ryder was walking backstage where he bumped in to Rusev with Lana, Ryder challenge Rusev to a match tonight for the WWE United States Championship when Sheamus attacked Ryder from behind. Sheamus said if Ryder wants a match, he's got one against him, next.

2# Sheamus bt. Zack Ryder
(Post-match, Rusev made his way to the ring and took out Ryder with a belly-to-belly overhead suplex, Rusev then applied the accolade and bent Ryder's back whilst screaming that he accepts his challenge.)

3# Breezango bt. Lucha Dragons

Seth Rollins made his way to the ring for the "Rollins Report", Rollins claimed that he has obtained exclusive footage from a sit-down interview between himself and Roman Reigns. Seth Rollins asked Reigns questions of the suspension and how he shouldn't be in the triple threat match at Battleground, the footage is doctored to show Reigns saying he should be taken out of the match.

Dean Ambrose made his way to the ring, he makes a lighthearted comment of Rollins finally having fun for once in his life, Rollins went in to a tirade how he found Ambrose's reign a joke and how he is afraid to give him a one-on-one match for the WWE Championship. Rollins made a statement that at Battleground, Ambrose's fairytale will come to an end when he takes back the title stolen from him.

Ambrose spoke about how he is the WWE Champion and what he has gone through to become it, he then mentions that he will give Rollins a one-on-one match anytime and anyplace. Ambrose suggests tonight but Rollins said that he will see him next week.

Sami Zayn came to the ring to be on commentary for the next match but when Kevin Owens' music hits, he is no where to be seen. We go backstage with Owens refusing go to the ring as it is not a safe working environment with Zayn out there. Stephanie McMahon walks up and tells the referees to remove Zayn from ringside. Referees run down as Zayn says that he has authorisation from Shane McMahon. Zayn makes his way to the back but not before he and Owens engage in a brawl.

We go backstage again as a limousine pulls up and Vince McMahon steps out. Renee Young asks why he is here, Vince says that he is here to name the new commissioner of Smackdown Live.

4# Kevin Owens bt. Cesaro
(Post-match, Sami Zayn runs through the crowd and attacks Owens. Owens bounces Zayn off the announce table and threw him in the ring. Cesaro then took down Owens with the Cesaro Swing.)

5# Titus O'Neil bt. Heath Slater (w/ Social Outcasts)

This Thursday Night on Smackdown, Darren Young and Bob Backlund will be special guests on Miz TV.

We go to footage now of when the New Day went to the Wyatt Family ranch. They brawl with weapons surrounded by a ring of cars. All men take some damage with Bray Wyatt viciously attacking Xavier Woods, Braun Strowman going through the windshield of a pickup truck and Kofi was nearly drowned in a mud puddle. Wyatt is left laughing at the New Day, The New Day then find themselves surrounded by a lot of people wearing sheep masks and holding up lanterns.

AJ Styles and The Club, followed by Big Cass and Enzo Amore made their way to the ring for the next match. Big Cass spoke how everyone on the roster wants the spot of John Cena and explained it was only a matter of time before the Club tried to take food off their tables so they stepped up and joined the fight instead of waiting. Styles sends a final warning to Enzo and Big Cass but Enzo and Big Cass are ready to fight.

6# Enzo Amore & Big Cass bt. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (w/ AJ Styles) Via DQ
(AJ Styles pulled down the top rope to get Big Cass out of the ring. Styles then threw him in to the crowd to cause the DQ. Post-match, The Club surround Enzo in the ring until John Cena made the save and clear the club out of the ring.)

7# Sasha Banks bt. Dana Brooke (w/ Charlotte) Via Submission
(Post-match, Charlotte derisively congratulated Sasha on the win but claims she doesn't believe she is a competitor for the WWE Women's Championship. Charlotte suggested that Sasha face Dana again on Smackdown and maybe she'll be deserving of a title opportunity.)

Both Stephanie and Shane McMahon make their way to the ring before Mr. McMahon makes his way to the ring. He said that his children have done a fair job, he then claimed he was a little disappointed to see this "sweet" version of Stephanie, and claimed that Shane shouldn't even be here as he lost at Wrestlemania. Vince spoke how he expected to see ruthless aggression then gave them both an opportunity to convince him who should be running Smackdown Live.

Stephanie started by going through her accolades and also reminding her father of Shane's 7 year absence from the WWE, Shane spoke how he is here to represent change. Vince then announces that the new commissioner of Smackdown Live will be Shane McMahon, thus relieving him of his responsibilities of Monday Night Raw as the new commissioner of the flagship show of the WWE is Stephanie McMahon. He told both of them he wants to compete on everything from live attendance to ratings, he brought up the question of which one of them is going to inherit the keys to the kingdom.

Mr.McMahon wasn't finished as he said they both need a General Manager to compete on this level and run the day-to-day things, therefore next week on Raw, they will both name a General Manager each and if they don't, he will name them for them, Vince finished by saying "let the games begin". Stephanie had words for her brother and finished by slapping him, Stephanie goaded Shane to hit her but he gave her a peck on the cheek.

Samoa Joe opens the show and makes his first appearance since Takeover, he said that he is here to witness Finn Balor vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and claims that implications insult him because Nakamura thinks that the winner of the match becomes a contender for the NXT Championship. Joe spoke how he slayed the demon, and he will destroy Nakamura if he tries to take his crown. He says that if anyone wants to do anything around here, they go through him. Rhyno makes his way to the ring and told Joe that he will go through him to get to the top. Joe smirks and leaves the ring before saying that it's on his time, not Rhyno's.

Next week on NXT - Bayley vs. Nia Jax, American Alpha vs. Authors of Pain, and Samoa Joe vs. Rhyno.

We see promos from earlier today, they featured Kevin Owens talking about Sami Zayn and how he better not get in his business tonight when he faces Dean Ambrose. We see Dana Brooke and Charlotte stepping out limousine before saying that Sasha Banks can't lace her boots and Dana says lightening won't strike twice. The Miz welcomes Darren Young and Bob Backlund to Miz TV tonight, saying Bob will tell him how he is going to make Darren Young great again and how he will tell him why he is wrong. Finally, Dean Ambrose promised that Kevin Owens' ego will be shattered, kneecap battered, face splattered all over the mat, courtesy of the WWE Champion.

(Post-match, Charlotte hit a boot to the face of Sasha, she continued the assault by throwing her in to the announce table.)

(Zack Ryder came out to the ring which distracted Rusev. Moments later, Rusev brought both Ziggler and Ryder in to the ring but Ryder escaped as Ziggler rolled up Rusev for the 3.)

Maryse welcomes The Miz for another edition of Miz TV, his guests tonight are Darren Young and Bob Backlund. Miz reminds us who Backlund is by showing a video, he then shows a video for Darren Young but it is just a test pattern. Miz continues to mock Young as he has done nothing in the WWE, Darren Young spoke of all he needed to do was to take the Intercontinental title from Miz. Miz points out that Young didn't really win the title shot as much as everyone else lost, a fired up Backlund told Young to look at Miz as he'll never be a great champion. Miz and Maryse begin to berate the hall of famer, drawing the ire of Darren Young, who said he will teach Miz a lesson at Battleground when he beats him for the Intercontinental title. Miz warns Young for touching his microphone, which Young proceeds to do again, he dared Miz to do something as Miz and Maryse left the ring.

(Featuring Seth Rollins on commentary, Rollins attacked Ambrose from behind forcing the DQ. Owens and Rollins continued to attack Ambrose until Zayn comes in to the ring and alongside the WWE Champion, clear the ring of Rollins and Ambrose. After the commercial, we learn this will now be a tag team match.)

The new commissioner of Monday Night Raw Stephanie McMahon makes her way to the ring. We learn the rules for the draft whereby 1) Raw gets the first overall pick, 2) For every 2 Smackdown picks, Raw gets 3, 3) Tag Teams count as one unless a commissioner/GM wants only one member of the team and 4) six draft picks will be made off the NXT roster.

Stephanie goes to welcome everyone to Raw but Shane McMahon interrupts and welcomes everyone to Monday Night Raw. Shane and Stephanie have words between each other, through this Stephanie lets on that there will be a Cruiserweight division and will be exclusive to Raw. They are both ready to announce who the general managers will be for their respective brands, Stephanie goes first and introduces the new General Manager of Raw, Mick Foley. Mick Foley goes through what being part of the new era means and also compares it to the attitude era and says he is ready to take Raw to the future and beyond.

Shane is next to introduce the new General Manager of Smackdown Live, Daniel Bryan. A huge "Yes chant" breaks out through the arena, he spoke how Shane sold him on how it will be the superstars first instead of management. The battle lines have been drawn, Bryan references winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 30 and eluded to the fans doing that, and that if they all join together, Smackdown Live will beat Raw every week because they have beaten the authority before, and will do it again.

1# Sami Zayn & Cesaro bt. Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens

Daniel Bryan is talking backstage with The Golden Truth with R-Truth trying to get Bryan to dab, Bryan bumps in to Titus and Jack Swagger before Stephanie McMahon walks up to him. She makes reference to what he has been doing with his wife, "living off the land and planting peaches", then she refers to him as the little doll from Chucky. He congratulates her on adding to her reservoir of insults and ruining Monday Night Raw before walking away.

2# Darren Young (w/ Bob Backlund) bt. Alberto Del Rio
(The Miz and Maryse were on commentary for the match. During the match, Miz gets on the apron but Young punches him down. Del Rio had Young pinned but Miz is distracting the referee. Del Rio yells at Miz which led to Young rolling him up to get the 3.)

John Cena makes his way to the ring and spoke of how this is a huge week in WWE and then spoke of Battleground this Sunday and how the Club will try and "beat up John Cena", but says they're about to realise they can't see him because he's got the Certified G's. Enzo and Big Cass make their way to the ring, both men spit out a number of punchlines to the bemusement of the 15-time World champion. Cena tells Enzo and Big Cass to get serious about Sunday, Big Cass says they like to have fun but when push comes to shove, they get serious. They were about to call the Club S-A-W-F-T, but AJ Styles and the Club made their way out and said that Cena is setting himself up for failure teaming with Enzo and Big Cass. The Club made reference to how they have only been tagging for a few weeks compared to how they have spilt blood all over the world. The New Day are next to make their way out, New Day spoke of seeing what the Wyatt Family is capable of but this sunday they are prepared to shoe them why they are the WWE Tag Team Champions. The Wyatt Family then appeared as we are set for a 12-man tag team match.

3# The Club & The Wyatt Family bt. Enzo Amore, Big Cass, John Cena & The New Day in a 12-man tag team match

We see a pre-taped promo from Seth Rollins from earlier today in an empty arena, he spoke of the history with himself and the Shield. He then spoke of cutting his losses and becoming WWE Champion, and also about his injury. He spoke about Roman Reigns and if his confidence has been shaken after his suspension. He turns his attention to Dean Ambrose and spoke how he is a thief and a coward after he stole the title from him when Seth won it at Money in the Bank. Rollins said that he will go in to Battleground and prove to everyone that he was always the man as far as the shield is concerned.

Mick Foley is speaking to Breezango backstage when Shane McMahon approached, he shooed Breezango away and congratulated Foley on becoming the General Manager of Raw. He questioned why he would want to work for his sister, Foley said he has a front row ticket to rise with power and has his eyes open, he said he sees passion and drive, and not the vindictive woman that the WWE Universe sees. Shane claimed it was down to him being able to identify with the crowd and she can manipulate him easily. Foley leaves to scout talent but Shane told him to have a nice day.

4# Baron Corbin bt. Sin Cara
(Post-match, Corbin continued his assault before Kalisto ran down to make the save. Corbin retreated from the ring but moments later pulled the former United States Champion out of the ring and slammed him on the floor.)

5# Sasha Banks & Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte & Dana Brooke ended in a No Contest
(Natalya came to the ring and took Becky off the the apron before sending her in to the ring post and then in to the barricade causing the referee to throw the match out. Post-match, Charlotte took Sasha down at ringside before throwing her in the ring where she was beaten down by Dana, hit with a big boot from Charlotte and then was hit with the natural selection by the Women's Champion.)

6# Rusev (w/ Lana) & Sheamus bt. Dolph Ziggler & Zack Ryder Via Submission

Daniel Bryan approaches Mick Foley backstage and both men were going back and forth speaking of competing with one another. Foley said they both overcame odds and defied expectations by becoming unlikely world champions and never let anyone get in their way, Foley got serious and said that Bryan is now in his way before Bryan told Foley that he was standing in his way. Bryan said they never fought in the ring but they are fighting now before Mick finished by saying, "May the best brand win, let the games begin".

7# Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins in a WWE Championship match ended in a Draw
(Both men's shoulders were on the mat when the referee counted to 3. Stephanie claims that Rollins is the new champion, Shane and Stephanie argued about the situation as the show went off the air. On the WWE Network, it was ruled that the match was a draw by the referee and that Ambrose was still the Champion.)

7# John Cena, Enzo Amore & Big Cass bt. The Club in a six man tag team match

Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring and tells everyone in Washington to be quiet as this is the biggest Highlight Reel in WWE History. He brings out Randy Orton as his guest, Orton and Jericho go back and forth, teasing one may hit their finishing manoeuvre before speaking of Orton facing Lesnar at Summerslam. Orton said that he needed to make a statement coming back to the WWE and Lesnar is the baddest dude in the locker room, Orton that jokes about Jericho's return a few years ago and taking on Fandango. Jericho hypes how Lesnar will take him to Suplex City but Orton said it only takes one RKO to get to Viperville adding, "no enhancement needed". Jericho told Orton how he will pay for that comment and said he spoke to Lesnar and he called Orton a "stupid idiot". Moments later after further teasing, Orton hits Jericho with an RKO and the Viper leaves the ring after taking a bow.

We go to the ring where Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon want to introduce everyone to the entire roster of Monday Night Raw. Foley spoke how he will be working hand in hand with the superstars to bring the most action packed episode of Raw every week. Stephanie spoke about last night's main event whereby the WWE Championship is now on Smackdown Live, she then spoke how in 1,209 episodes of Raw, there has always been a Heavyweight Champion and the WWE Universe demands a heavyweight champion, the world demands it and that's what they get.

Foley then announced that tonight we will have two Fatal four-way matches, the winners of those matches will face each other in tonight's main event. The winner of the main event, will go on to face Seth Rollins at Summerslam for the brand new WWE Universal Championship. Foley announces the eight men in tonight's matches - Sami Zayn, Sheamus, Chris Jericho, Cesaro, Roman Reigns, Rusev, Kevin Owens and Finn Balor.

Stephanie spoke of how the WWE Women's Championship remains on Raw, she asks Charlotte to step forward and announces that she will be defending the Women's title tonight against Sasha Banks.

We see a video highlighting some of the cruiserweights as the Cruiserweight division is coming exclusively to Monday Night Raw.

Sasha Banks is warming up backstage when the Golden Truth walk up to her with their phone out, she asks if they're taking a picture of her, but they say they're playing Pokemon Go. Tom Phillips approaches Sasha about tonight and Sasha says the new era is about to have it's first champion when the WWE Women's Championship is about to have some new swag to it.

Brock Lesnar returns to Monday Night Raw next week.

3# Roman Reigns bt. Chris Jericho, Sheamus & Sami Zayn in a Fatal 4-Way to advance to tonight's main event

The New Day make their way to the ring to celebrate being the longest reigning WWE Tag Team Champions in WWE history. They spoke of being the tag team champions for 337 days before a video package plays of all their great moments. They bring a fan in to the ring with the name "Sonny Boy", they don't believe that's his real name but he celebrates with them. Moments later, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows run down and send Kingston and Woods in to the steps and Barricade. They get in to the ring and take Big E down with the Magic Killer, before ripping the shirts of Woods and Kingston, sending Woods in to the steps once again and snotting in to the new day shirts before throwing it at "sonny boy".

Darren Young is talking with Bob Backlund how he almost won the Intercontinental title last night, once again, the Golden Truth walk in and say there is a Pokemon on Backlund's tie. He screams at them as they run off.

(Post-match, Byron Saxton congratulates Sasha and asks her what this moment means to her. She spoke how this has been her dream since she was 10 years old and now it's a new era in the wwe, it's the era of the Boss, change and women's wrestling.)

Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan open Smackdown Live with the Smackdown roster surrounding the ring on the apron. Shane spoke how Smackdown is all about opportunity and starting on September 11th, Smackdown will be presenting its own PPV, WWE Backlash.

Shane then brought the WWE Champion to the ring and spoke how they need to find an opponent for Ambrose at Summerslam. Ambrose wanted to know who is going to step up. Daniel Bryan announces that there will be a Six pack challenge number 1 contenders match tonight featuring John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin and AJ Styles. They announce that the 6th spot is open to anyone as that person will be the winner of a battle royal.

1# Apollo Crews won a battle royal to advance to tonight's six pack challenge
(Order of elimination - Simon Gotch, The Ascension, Jey Uso, Aiden English, Erick Rowan, Mojo Rawley, Alberto Del Rio, Breezango, Kalisto, Zack Ryder and Kane. Post-match, Renee Young interviews Apollo Crews who said that tonight he plans on winning the six pack challenge and moving on to Summerslam.)

A video package airs hyping the return of Shelton Benjamin to Smackdown Live.

2# Becky Lynch bt. Natalya Via Submission
(Post-match, Renee Young interviews Becky Lynch after beating Natalya after her defeat at Battleground. Moments later, Alexa Bliss made her way out and said that she is what the new era looks like. Naomi was next to come out and warned Bliss not to run her mouth as she hasn't had a official WWE match yet, Carmella makes her way out and does her entrance before she is interrupted by Eva Marie who blows everyone a kiss.)

The Miz and Maryse are in the ring for another edition of MIZ TV, Miz then announces that he is his own guest tonight. The Miz starts interviewing himself until Randy Orton interrupted, they spoke of Summerslam and Orton said it won't be his last match but it doesn't have to be his first match back. Orton suggested a match tonight, and eluded it to being a warm up match. Orton goads Miz by saying he is scared about getting his ass whipped in front of his "pretty wife", Maryse then accepts the match on behalf of the Intercontinental Champion.

3# Randy Orton bt. The Miz (w/ Maryse) in a non-title match

We see a video packaging focusing on American Alpha who will make their debut next week on Smackdown Live.

Heath Slater makes his way to the ring as a local talent was warming up. Slater attacked him and threw him out of the ring before grabbing a microphone, he questioned why he wasn't drafted to either Raw or Smackdown Live. He also said that if Bryan and Shane want to take Smackdown in to the new era, then he should be in the six pack challenge match tonight.

Shane McMahon makes his way out and questioned Slater's actions. Slater spoke of how he was the brains behind Nexus, The Corre and he was the One Man Band, he then mentioned how he is a 3-time tag team champion. We then see Rhyno get inside the ring as Shane agreed he is looking at the hottest free agent today, as Slater turns around and takes a Gore from Rhyno.

4# Dolph Ziggler bt. John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin, AJ Styles and Apollo Crews in a Six pack challenge to become #1 contender for the WWE Championship
(Post-match, Ziggler celebrates with the fans at ringside when Dean Ambrose interrupt the show off's celebration. Ambrose gets in the face of Ziggler and holds up the WWE Championship. Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan make their way to the ring to congratulate Ziggler and raise the hands of both men.)

After the match, NXT General Manager William Regal came to the stage and announced that on August 20th at NXT Takeover, it will be Samoa Joe defending the NXT Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura.

2# Billie Kay bt. Santana Garrett

Bayley is backstage speaking with William Regal, she tells him that she is ready for her title shot to become a 2-time NXT Women's Champion. Regal agrees and says he will talk to Asuka to try and make it happen.

3# TM61 bt. Rob Ryzin & Adrian Nailz

We see a video about Hideo Itami's career to date and his desire to be NXT Champion, he returns next week.

4# No Way Jose bt. Steve Cutler
(Post-match, Jose calls out Aries after trying to show Aries the fun that he is bringing to NXT. He said that Aries took advantage of him and mistook him for something he's not, he said he can turn a fiesta in to a fight and he is the biggest coward in NXT, he says he is going to whoop Aries' ass.)

5# Koto Ibushi bt. Buddy Murphy

Samoa Joe makes his way to the ring and spoke of the announcement that Regal made earlier tonight, he said as he wasn't consulted first, it won't be happening. He calls Nakamura an undeserving contender and he hasn't done what Joe had to do to become the number 1 contender.

William Regal comes to the stage and tells Joe that his decision is final. Joe gives Regal an opportunity to correct this disrespect, Regal responded by telling Joe that if he refuses, then he will forfeit and will lose the title right now. Joe said that at Takeover, he will beat up Nakamura like he did Balor unless he sees him before then.

Nakamura then came to the stage and stared down at the NXT Champion to end the show.

The new WWE Women's Champion opens Monday Night Raw and thanked the fans. She then spoke about the WWE Universe talking about Bayley and The Boss at NXT Brooklyn last year, and said they didn't just steal the show, they were the show, she said the reign of the boss has just begun and will continue that era at Summerslam.

Charlotte makes her way out and promises to beat Sasha by herself at Summerslam, Charlotte refers to Sasha as a "one night stand", to which Sasha replied by saying she is the daughter of Ric Flair and if it wasn't for him, she probably wouldn't be standing her right now.

Chris Jericho made his way out and said he didn't like how Sasha was talking about Charlotte, he called Charlotte a princess and said she has already surpassed anything Ric Flair has done in the ring. Jericho calls Sasha a brat before Enzo Amore comes to the ring, and goes back and forth with a "How you doin" with Sasha. Jericho and Enzo go back and forth with the insults before Mick Foley made his way out and makes a mixed tag team match with Chris Jericho & Charlotte vs. Enzo Amore & Sasha Banks next.

(Featuring Kevin Owens on commentary for the match. Post-match, Jericho hit a codebreaker on Enzo before Big Cass made his way to the ring as Jericho bails.)

Before the next match, Byron Saxton interviews Braun Strowman's opponent tonight who is Evan Anderhole. He asks him why he has taken the match tonight, he said that he gets $1,000 and $5,000 if he wins.

Stephanie McMahon is with Mick Foley backstage, she compliments Foley on the mixed tag team match that he booked before Mark Henry walked in, Stephanie referred to him as the official WWE ambassador for the Summer Olympics. Henry spoke about the competition with Smackdown Live has got his creative juices flowing and suggests it is time for reopening the hall of pain. Stephanie explained to him that they brought Henry back more in a mentor capacity, Henry tells her she is wrong and says he has one more run left in him. Foley books Henry against Rusev for the United States Championship tonight.

3# The Shining Stars bt. The Golden Truth

Michael Cole brings Finn Balor to the ring and spoke of his wild couple of weeks since his Raw debut, Balor said he needed to make an impact, Seth Rollins then interrupted. Rollins make reference to being the first ever NXT Champion and the number 1 draft pick. Balor tells Rollins that he plans to beat him at Summerslam to become the first ever WWE Universal Champion. Rollins laughs of Balor's claims, Rollins told Balor to watch the WWE Network special about him and then invites him to watch what he does to his buddy Sami Zayn tonight.

Balor spoke of earning his opportunity at Summerslam where Rollins was anded it to him, Rollins told him that he had earned everything in his career and will show him who the man really is at Summerslam. Balor told him that the only thing he will have handed to him at Summerslam is his ass, Rollins attempts to cheap shot Balor but Balor Blocks and gets in a Pele kick to the face of Rollins.

4# Rusev (w/ Lana) bt. Mark Henry Via Submission to retain the WWE United States Championship
(Post-match, Rusev spoke down of Henry being the American hero who represented the United States at the Olympic games, he then said that the games are rigged as to why they always win. He said no American deserves to win a gold medal in Rio, and no man can take his WWE United States Championship away from him as he is a natural born winner. Roman Reigns comes to the ring and gets in Rusev's face, they exchange words, Rusev goes to walk away but Reigns gets back in his face. Reigns continues to sop Rusev from leaving the ring, he then gets in a series of right hands on Reigns before Reigns connects with a jumping clothesline. Reigns went for a superman punch but Rusev bailed out of the ring. Reigns rolled outside and hit the superman punch on Rusev from the steel steps.)

5# Titus O'Neil bt. Darren Young (w/ Bob Backlund)
(Post-match, Backlund protested to the referee after Titus held the tights of Young to get the win.)

Stephanie McMahon hands Foley a Raw branded ipad backstage before Sheamus walks in and bemoans them giving out Championship matches to Mark Henry and ignoring him. Cesaro walks in and says millions of people in the Cesaro section do not want to see Sheamus. Stephanie brought up how Cesaro wanted to be drafted to Smackdown Live, and Foley mentioned his shoulder being a big question mark. Foley spoke about Sheamus' toughness but claimed he hasn't been in the game since he cashed in his money in the bank briefcase. Foley suggested a match between both men and the winner will earn a future championship match.

Bob Backlund is yelling at Titus O'Neil backstage and called him a cheater, Titus threatened to, "knock his old ass out"., This prompted Darren Young to attack Titus and told him he can't talk to his coach like that.

6# Nia Jax bt. Ariel Monroe
(Post-match, Byron Saxton asks Nia Jax what it is like competing inside a WWE ring, Nia attacked Monroe and told him to ask how she feels.)

Tom Phillips is with Sami Zayn backstage and Zayn spoke about his match with Seth Rollins tonight. Zayn said that Rollins has a big mouth like Owens, and spoke of what he did at Battleground by closing the chapter with Owens and said he has something to prove tonight.

The New Day make their way out for their match and call Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson cowards after they attacked them last week. They spoke how one member of them will be banned from ringside tonight and that will be Xavier Woods as they engaged in a game of bag of fruit.

7# Big E & Kofi Kingston bt. Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows in a non-title match
(Post-match, Gallows & Anderson attacked Big E and Kingston, Xavier Woods came to the ring and was on the wrong end of a big boot from Gallows. Gallows and Anderson then hit two boots of doom on Big E, Woods got back up and pulled Anderson out of the ring but Gallows connected with a running high knee. Gallows and Anderson then pull Big E towards the steel ring post and crotch him against it.)

8# Cesaro bt. Sheamus
(After the commercial, we see both men brawling at ringside.)

Heath Slater is in the ring and referred to himself as the hottest free agent and said he went ahead and did something, he then brought Jinder Mahal to the ring and said that 2MB are going to set Monday Night Raw on fire. Mick Foley interrupted and brought up how neither men are actually on the Raw roster, he then suggested a battle of the bands where both men have a match against each other now and the winner of the match will earn a Raw contract.

9# Jinder Mahal bt. Heath Slater to earn a contract on Monday Night Raw

Tom Phillips is backstage with Chris Jericho, Jericho spoke of Enzo insulting his looks and his scarf. Jericho said that Enzo has someone to watch his back and so does he, when questioned who it was, Jericho went through an awkward moment to come up with Jimen Marvin Luter, the toughest guy west of Winnipeg. Kevin Owens approached and said it wasn't a real person, he then tells Jericho that he has his back.

10# Seth Rollins bt. Sami Zayn

Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs will be live on Raw next week in Anaheim.

Paul Heyman comes to the ring and introduces the "beast of the broctagon, the ruler and conqueror of the WWE Universe and Viper slayer..." Brock Lesnar. Heyman once again spoke of Lesnar's brand of entertainment not being one that they like to market and sell in the WWE as it is violent. Heyman mentioned how the new era needed to step up to Brock Lesnar.

Heyman then focused on Randy Orton and spoke of hearing that he is one RKO away from victory, Heyman brought up Lesnar's domination in the WWE and then spoke of Orton's theme music and wondering how many times those voices say that Lesnar will kick his ass at Summerslam and drag him to Suplex City. Heyman continues to repeat how Orton doesn't have a chance against Lesnar and even said that Orton isn't man enough to hit an RKO on Lesnar.

Randy Orton suddenly hit the ring and hit an RKO out of no where on Lesnar. Orton then bails out of the ring and through the crowd as Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon come out yelling to get him escorted out of the building. We see Lesnar get to his feet staring down a smiling Orton to end the show.

WWE SMACKDOWN LIVE

ANNOUNCERS - BYRON SAXTON, MAURO RANALLO & DAVID OTUNGA

The show opens with Randy Orton alongside Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan watching the clip of him giving Lesnar an RKO last night on Raw. Shane told Orton he jeopardized everything by puytting his hands on Lesnar last night and said he would be shocked if Lesnar didn't try and get to Orton before Summerslam. Shane also said though it was pretty awesome. Orton questioned the amount of security tonight, Shane said it is but Orton said if Lesnar does invade tonight, they don't need security to protect team blue as it only takes on RKO to drop Lesnar. As Orton leaves, Shane sends some security to keep an eye out for Lesnar.

The Miz and Maryse walk up and referred to himself as Smackdown Live's Jason Bourne, he then bemoaned how the roster didn't hoist him up on his shoulders when he retained the Intercontinental title at Battleground. Bryan told him he wasn't excited to draft him but he wanted the Intercontinental title on Smackdown Live, he then made a "new era" triple threat match tonight with Baron Corbin, Apollo Crews and Kalisto where the winner will face him for the Intercontinental Championship at Summerslam.

Dean Ambrose makes his way to the ring and welcomes everyone to Smackdown Live, Ambrose spoke how he has got here by busting his butt and he's not a one hit wonder, he's here to stay. He then spoke of Summerslam and Dolph Ziggler, he called Ziggler to the ring. Ziggler told Ambrose they have a lot in common where Ambrose disagreed and said they are nothing alike as Ziggler is all show and he is all go. Ziggler referred to how Ambrose started from the top with the shield, and he came in as a male cheerleader so they didn't start on level playing fields.

Ambrose spoke about defying people's opinions of not being championship material as he is the WWE World Champion. Ambrose spoke how Ziggler is too concerned about his image, and he may steal the show but he will lose in the process. Ziggler responded by saying he is a kid from Cleveland that went to a WWE Live event when he was 5 and said that was him one day, he walked on to the wrestling team at Kent state university and broke records in the hope that one day he'd get a shot at being a superstar. He then said for the last 7 years he has been disrespected, undervalued, overlooked, told one day that he's not good enough and the next he's too good, he says he is that man that is going to walk in to Summerslam, burn Brooklyn to the ground, beat Ambrose's ass, and become champion because he is that damn good. Ambrose replied by saying, "no you're not". He said he isn't going to do any of that and not because it's a conspiracy theory of people holding him down by Ziggler's problem is that he isn't as good as he thinks he is as Ambrose dropped the mic and walked off.

Bray Wyatt's video flashes on the screen and the lights go out, when they come back on, Bray Wyatt is in the ring and drops Ziggler with the sister Abigail. Wyatt calls Ziggler worthless and doesn't deserve the power of being called champion. Wyatt claimed Ziggler stole something from him and he wants it back, he offers Ziggler a challenge tonight and if Ziggler wins then he'll prove to people once and for all he's worthy of being the #1 contender. However if Ziggler fails, he will take his place at Summerslam and will be the #1 contender, Wyatt tells him to prove he is really that damn good.

Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan are taking with security backstage when Ziggler walks up and wants the match with Bray Wyatt to prove everyone wrong.

1# Apollo Crews bt. Kalisto and Baron Corbin in a triple threat match to become the #1 contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
(Featuring The Miz and Maryse on commentary, post-match, Corbin attacks Kalisto from behind. Crews returns to the ring to help by Miz takes him down with the skull crushing finale. Corbin then grabs Miz and takes him out with the end of days.)

It was set to be Becky Lynch vs. Eva Marie but before the match began, Eva Marie signalled she may have hurt her hamstring, the referee announces that Eva can't compete and calls off the match.

Carmella is being interviewed by Renee Young when Natalya approaches and says that she is the one who should be getting interviewed. Natalya says Smackdown live needs a winner and leader like her, Carmella told her she is the Princess of Staten island and doesn't need anyone's help to get to the top. Later, Carmella told her to put her crazy cat lady costume on and she'll show her why she's the most fabulous chick on the roster. Natalya tells her she needs a lesson in humility and snaps at her before leaving.

2# American Alpha bt. The Vaudevillains

AJ Styles makes his way to the ring and says that he's out here for one reason, to talk about John Cena. The 15-time world champion interrupts him, Styles said that he had a message for the "Cenation". Styles claims the only reason Cena is still in the WWE despite having beaten him up, is that people are weak-minded, and the stupid idiot delusional kids love Cena, and also the parents. Cena mentioned why he is here after 15 years and says it is out of love and goes through the list of things he does including appearing on tv shows. Styles derisively claps for Cena before challenging him to a match at Summerslam, Cena accepts the challenge, Styles said the best part is when he beats him then on Tuesday on Smackdown Live, Cena will say that Styles is better than him and if he doesn't then he is a liar, and if he does, then he is a loser. Either way, Styles wins.

3# Randy Orton bt. Fandango (w/ Tyler Breeze) Via DQ
(Brock Lesnar hops over the ring barricade and gets through security, Orton hits Fandango with the RKO before Lesnar immediately got in the ring and gave Orton an F5. Post-match, Shane McMahon and more security run down to beg Lesnar to leave, Orton angrily stares at Lesnar before Lesnar turns his back and walks off. We see footage of what happened during the commercial, Lesnar is being escorted out of the arena and said that he was just returning the favour for what happened to him last night, Paul Heyman shows up and has the car ready for him as they drive off.)

Daniel Bryan is talking to someone on the phone about Lesnar until Heath Slater appeared in his office. When the Smackdown Live GM questioned how Slater got in, he said he got in through the back door. Slater then said how good he would look on the Summerslam poster as there is nothing bigger than him right now. Bryan told him that if he wants a contract, he'll have to earn it in a match next week, if he wins, he'll get a contract with Smackdown Live. Slater asks who his opponent is, Bryan told him to guess before Rhyno appears and gores him.

Renee Young is with Dean Ambrose about Dolph Ziggler facing Bray Wyatt tonight for the #1 contenders spot. Ambrose said it usually takes Ziggler longer to self-destruct and is surprised he put his #1 contendership on the line.

Carmella is set for her match when she is attacked from behind by Natalya. Natalya sends the princess of staten island in to the barricade before hitting a snap suplex on the floor. Natalya then locks her in the sharpshooter and Carmella is tapping out before Natalya walks off.

Dolph Ziggler is warming up backstage when Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan walk up to him. Bryan says they believe in him but Shane mentions he could be giving up his shot against Ambrose. Ziggler says they don't believe in him and says, "screw you" , before walking off.

4# Dolph Ziggler bt. Bray Wyatt
(Featuring Dean Ambrose on commentary for the match. Due to pre-match stipulations, Ziggler retains his WWE World Championship opportunity against Dean Ambrose at Summerslam. Post-match, Ziggler yells at Ambrose as Ambrose stands on the commentary table and raises the WWE World Championship belt. Erick Rowan then attacks Ziggler from behind until Ambrose runs in, Wyatt attacks Ambrose before Rowan drops him with a slam. Rowan throws Ambrose out of the ring before Wyatt hit Ziggler with a Sister Abigail.)

Andrea D'Marco is backstage with the NXT Tag Team Champions and asks if there is any pressure on then. They claim they have proven they are the greatest tag team. TM 61 interrupt and challenge them for the NXT Tag Team titles as they have been wrestling for years to prove they are the best. Wilder brushes off then challenge before Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa interrupt and claim they are next in line for the title as they have already beaten them but The Revival won't give them a shot because they are "scared". Dash and Dawson said they have already promised TM 61 the opportunity to face them, but they told both teams to converse with each other as they leave.

2# Mojo Rawley vs. Chris Atkins ended in a No Contest
(Samoa Joe attacked Mojo Rawley for the match to be thrown out.)

Samoa Joe grabs a microphone and calls out William Regal, he claims that since Regal doesn't feel like consulting him about booking championship matches, he doesn't feel the need to consult him on when he wants to come out and rampage the show. He said on August 20th he will destroy Nakamura. Rawley attacks the NXT Champion from behind as referees enter to keep Rawley away, they force him back up the ramp before Joe attacks him from behind and applies the Coquina Clutch.

Bayley is asked backstage about losing the NXT Women's Championship and trying not to let it happen again. Bayley says that she has been watching Asuka matches and she is going to adapt, Asuka showed up and invited Bayley to watch her next match.

Bayley joins the commentary table for the next match until Asuka placed a chair at ringside for her to watch the match.

3# Asuka bt. Aliyah Via Submission in a non-title match
(Post-match, Asuka refused to let go of the hold until Bayley entered the ring and pleading her to stop.)

Bobby Roode made his way to the ring to make his NXT debut, he spoke of being in the front row at Takeover Dallas and that he knew NXT was the place for him as no other brand in the world has revolutionised wrestling like NXT. Roode spoke how it is not just the wrestlers who are NXT but the fans, Roode then spoke of taking NXT to the next level and that is where he comes in.

He spoke how NXT needs Bobby Roode, the fans need Bobby Roode. He claims he will become the face of the brand and take NXT to corporate America, to Wall Street and make it a better place. He claims he wants business owners and CEO's watching him wrestle, instead of the losers in the crowd today, chanting stupid chants and wearing dirty clothes. He says he looks the part of the superstar, wearing expensive clothing. He says he wants to make NXT glorious.

4# The Revival bt. TM 61 in a non-title match

After the match, The Revival grabbed a microphone and run through a list of tag teams that they have beaten until Gargano and Ciampa interrupt. They speak how they are trying to collect the NXT Tag Team Championships and claim they haven't dropped them yet. Dash and Dawson claim that all Ciampa and Gargano have is words, before claiming "the top guys are out". This prompts a brawl between both teams which ends with Dawson being tossed out, and Wilder being superkicked a few times. Gargano rolls wilder up and Ciampa counts to 3 for the pretend victory.

Enzo and Big Cass open Monday Night Raw and Enzo spoke of teaming with Sasha Banks last week but blames "Jon Bon Jericho" for robbing him of a home run. Enzo calls out Jericho to which described Enzo as more annoying than "Achy, Breaky Heart". He then calls Enzo annoying and the only reason he's still in the WWE is because everytime he makes a mess with his mouth, he's got a 7-foot maid to clean it up. Jericho then switched to now having someone to watch his back before bringing out Kevin Owens. Big Cass and Enzo have further words for Jericho and Owens before challenging them to do something about it. Owens said that he used to like Big Cass but unlike him who cast away the "dead weight" which was holding him down, Big Cass carried the dead weight to Raw and now he has to see it and listen to it every week, therefore he doesn't like him anymore and said than he doesn't care that he is 7-foot tall, he's going to hurt him.

Cass gets in Owens' face and said if it isn't him who hurts Cass, Jericho will. Cass said they should do this right now, Jericho was talking to Enzo but was looking at Big Cass, to Big Cass' bemusement. Jericho said that Enzo is going to get "it", Enzo threatens Jericho that when he knows what "It" is, he'll shove it down this throat.

1# Chris Jericho (w/ Kevin Owens) bt. Enzo Amore (w/ Big Cass) Via DQ
(Owens grabbed the ankle of Enzo, Jericho took advantage of this by hitting the codebreaker on to him. Jericho set up for the lionsault but Big Cass booted him to cause the DQ. Post-match, Big Cass challenged them to a match at Summerslam. Owens agrees to it and says they'll kick their ass because they're winners. Big Cass told them that they will prove at Summerslam there is only one word to describe them, S-A-W-F-T!!)

Mick Foley is backstage talking on his cell phone, Foley spoke how they need to nip this Lesnar/Orton thing in the bud and that's why he invited Daniel Bryan to Raw tonight, Foley is revealed to be talking to Stephanie McMahon. Sasha Banks walks in and spoke how in 2-weeks at Summerslam, her WWE Women's Championship match against Charlotte won't be one-on-one because Dana Brooke always interferes so they should make it a handicap match. Foley spoke highly of the match two weeks again before making Sasha Banks vs. Dana Brooke tonight. If Sasha wins, Dana will be banned from ringside at Summerslam, if Sasha loses, then it will be a handicap match.

As Braun Strowman is making his way to the ring for a match, Byron Saxton is backstage with his opponent, Jorel Nelson. He asked Nelson why he took the match but Nelson didn't say a word.

Mick Foley is backstage with his ipad when Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs walks in. He told Foley how the WWE always treat him like family before giving Foley front row tickets to his upcoming show. The New Day walked in and congratulated him for being the soundtrack curator for WWE 2K17. Combs asks about Big E's nuts after last week. Xavier and Kofi suggested they give Big E a call.

3# Darren Young (w/ Bob Backlund) bt. Titus O'Neil

Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring, he spoke how the new era in WWE is upon us and it has been the learning experience, he spoke even he has learned a thing or two regarding his Summerslam opponent, Finn Balor. He thought Balor was a cheap, second-rate knockoff for him and was the Jared Leto to his Heath Ledge, however, last week he was forced to reevaluate his opinion.

Rollins continues to speak about Balor by commenting how Finn Balor isn't his name as he started under a different name. He spoke of how Finn means "Famous warrior", and Balor means "Demon King". Rollins says it sounds ridiculous, he spoke how the more he gets to know Balor he doesn't like him as he is one of the most disrespectful human beings he has ever met. Rollins mocks the fact that Balor has only won 2 matches in the WWE, he calls Balor arrogant and ignorant as well as disrespectful. Rollins said he knows what he is capable of and in 200 years, they will be telling stories on how he killed the beast and crushed the face that runs the place. Rollins said at Summerslam, he'll add to his legend when he beats Finn Balor to become the first WWE Universal Champion.

4# Cesaro bt. Sheamus

We see a video package highlighting 15-years in the making for the Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton match at Summerslam. Brock Lesnar will be live on Raw next week.

5# Neville & Sin Cara bt. Dudley Boyz

Rusev makes his way to the stage before "Canon in D" starts playing and Lana comes out in a provocative wedding dress. They make their way to the ring which is filled with a red carpet and a table with cake and champagne glasses. Lana spoke of her wedding and said today is the fans lucky days as they will reenact their very special occasion , we see a video package showing still photos of their wedding day.

They continued to speak about the day before Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring, Reigns spoke how he noticed Rusev did not have a best man at the wedding and wanted to step up to be this. Reigns is going to give them a toast before Rusev told him he doesn't need Reigns' stupid toast. Reigns then challenged him to a match for the United States Championship at Summerslam. Rusev refuses. Reigns said then Rusev will have to listen to his toast as Reigns pours out three glasses of champagne and drinks one. Reigns thanks them both as he has never got to see a marriage between a Bulgarian Sasquatch and a mail order bride. Reigns said that he wants to have a good time but Rusev wouldn't let him and says he expected more from Rusev, just as Lana did on their wedding night. Rusev attacks Reigns and punches away in the corner before Reigns comes back with some head-butts. Moments later, Reigns knocks Rusev in to Lana who goes face-first in to the wedding cake. Reigns walked off as a livid Lana screamed at Reigns as Rusev threw cake at him as he walked up the ramp.

Backstage, Lana continues to scream whilst cover in cake and Rusev yells at Foley to do something about it. Foley told Rusev he can work out his frustration at Summerslam against Reigns for the WWE United States Championship.

6# Sasha Banks bt. Dana Brooke (w/ Charlotte)
(Charlotte accidentally slapped Dana Brooke which led to Sasha knocking Charlotte down and hitting Dana with double knees to the midsection to get the 3. Due to pre-match stipulations, Dana Brooke will now be banned from ringside at Summerslam.)

We see a video package of Finn Balor talking about the heroes and villains of Irish Mythology. Balor promises that the demon will show up at Summerslam.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows appear in a video where they poke fun at Big E's testicle and calls the condition "ringpostitis". They hold up a jar with liquid and eggs and talk about how it makes them "testy". They said they will collect another sample from Kofi Kingston next.

7# Luke Gallows (w/ Karl Anderson) bt. Kofi Kingston (w/ Xavier Woods)
(Anderson gets on the ring apron but is pulled of by Woods. Anderson quickly sent Woods in to the ring post, Gallows grabbed Kingston and gave him a fireman's carry facebuster to get the 3. Post-match, Gallows and Anderson tried to give Kingston "ringpostitis", but Woods chased them off with a steel chair.)

We see a video from earlier today where Goldust is walking around the parking lot and bumped in to Scooby Doo. R-Truth said he is jealous he is not in the movie and nearly comes to blows with Scooby Doo, Goldust suggested they watch the move and eat Scooby Snacks.

Mick Foley is in the ring and spoke about when he was in the ring, he lived by the philosophy of an "eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, and an ear for an ear". Foley says the philosophy is archaic and barbaric and retrospect, he then introduces Smackdown GM Daniel Bryan to the ring.

Foley and Bryan compliment one another on the jobs they have been doing for their respective brands, Foley then revealed he brought Bryan here to apologise for Brock Lesnar invading Smackdown Live and embarrasing Randy Orton. Bryan said Smackdown Live fired the first shot when Orton came out of nowhere and hit the RKO on the beast.

Foley spoke about Bryan's comments on "Talking Smack" about the WWE Universal Championship when he made fun of the name title. Bryan claimed it was out of context and they should have done a "Milky Way Championship", before Foley said the Universal title is not a joke.

An angry Rusev made his way to the ring and said that Raw doesn't need another champion because it already has one, he then threatens he'll crush then next superstar from Smackdown Live who shows up on his show and he'll do it for the greatest GM in the history of mankind, Mick Foley. Bryan called Rusev pathetic and asked if he was sucking up to Foley to get out of his Summerslam match. Rusev threatens to crush Bryan before Cesaro made his way to the ring.

Cesaro spoke how Foley said that he could earn a championship opportunity, and proved last week and this week that he deserves a championship opportunity. Foley said he thought Sheamus almost had him for a moment, Cesaro then said he was confused as he thought Foley was a man of his word. Bryan commented how Cesaro is underutilized on Raw. Foley said that Reigns will get his United States title match at Summerslam, but, Cesaro will get his shot tonight.

8# Rusev bt. Cesaro to retain the WWE United States Championship
(Sheamus came to the ring but was knocked off the apron by Cesaro. Moments later, Sheamus got on the ring apron but Cesaro sent Rusev in to him and at the same time the referee inadvertently gets taken down. Cesaro hit the neutralizer and had the match won but the referee was still down. Rusev thumbs Cesaro before Sheamus hit the brogue kick to get the 3. Post-match, Roman Reigns hit the spear on Rusev.)
