As WilsdenBantam says, the bottom tier is dogshite. Nevertheless, it must be something the club is considering - even if only for a hand full of clubs might actually require it.

Possibly yourselves, Tranmere, Stockport, Doncaster and Grimsby. An additional £70k-£100k maybe? Deduct the cost for additional resources, policing and VAT; I suppose there’s an argument to be had whether it’s actually financially viable after all.
Last time we came we had both tiers and a block down the side - circa 2.5k, I'd assumed that's the normal full allocation? Has this been cut back?

Two blocks in the Midland Road stand (side) equate to just under 1,200. The stand behind the goal seats just 1,550. However, the lower tier of this stand wasn’t in use last season, meaning total allocation was just under 2,000.

I imagine for next season, the lower tier will reopen again.

I seem to recall the upper tier was actually closed for a while until it was opened for us. Looked like it been left alone for a while to be honest!

Most probably due to COVID.

The last time it was used was for the visit of Grimsby in Feb 2020. Usually, 1,200 in the side stand is sufficient for most in L2.

This season, it could well be used at some point for home fans, too.

It's good that we make each other laugh effortlessly.

A wise man once said laughter is the best form of medicine.

Aww, are you a little upset that I laughed at your Omari Patrick observation?

He might be your best player by a country mile, but he’s still dogshiteee!

No not at all. If someone upsets me that's not how I react, so no it's fine. I have no problem with you.

And I would hope you aren't upset with my laughing.

Upset? Not at all, I just deem actively identifying all of my recent posts just to react to them as slightly bizarre behaviour.

You do you, champion.

I was simply returning the compliment. Bizarre maybe in hindsight, my bad. It was all in good faith, a hand of friendship you could say.

Just hit 5k sold this afternoon. 9 days to go before the discount period ends and non-renewals are released, us exiles without STs are waiting to see what thin pickings and restricted views left for us.

With an average of say 500 away fans, and a reasonable season it would have to be. The club have hinted they have a plan to increase home capacity, which will be revealed after the ST deadline. It may affect you guys if we split the away end. Also need to see how this 70% increase affects our walk-up sales - average circa 2k home fans last season.

We've never been a club with big ST sales - too many shift workers, and now, exiles, who tend to miss midweeks. This goes way back as well - we had 400 trawlers based out of GY at peak in the early 70s - crews of about 12, plus all the dockers and processing shift workers - so thousands of men and women (in the processing factories) who wouldn't know what games they could go to from week to week. We used to have big fluctuations in home crowds as a result, random bigger crowds for midweek games because fewer boats at sea and shift workers not required to work.

Really enjoyed bradford last season, cracking day, cracking following.

Hoping we can do the same again next season.

Dread to think what we have sold, I heard more than last season but without ever seeing any had figures it's had to know for sure. All I know is there is a lot of concern going into this season, if things go pear shaped again expect to see some sub 3000 crowds at Gresty Road/Alexandra Stadium/Mornflake Stadium or whatever it's called this week.

Rather mentally, we're now at 5614, on the last day of discounted prices. The poplulation of Grimsby is 88000, so that's 1 in every 15 people (yes I'm conveniently forgetting the 38000 who live in Cleethorpes to make it seem better, they've got their own team ;) ).

It's also 82% of traditional home capacity. Does anyone in the division have higher?
