Gillingham averaged virtually 5000 on the nose last season and that's with away support from Charlton, Portsmouth, Wednesday, Sunderland, Ipswich and that followimg from Rovrum on the last day. They'll only average 6000 if they're in the top 3 all year. Last time they were relegated to this decision and finished 8th they averaged 5200.

There's also the fact that we were rancid at home all season. Bottom of the home table with 4 wins from 23, and just 13 home goals scored. THIRTEEN.

Would you go and watch that?

We could easily average around 6/7k if we start well. ST sales are up on last season, and despite the fact we're playing some clubs with shite support next season it's not as if we haven't just come from a place with Morecambe, Fleetwood, Accrington and Burton in it.

Wimbledon will probably average around 7,000 to 7,500.

To be fare you did better than Wimbledon at home last season .We managed 2 wins out of 23 !!!! That worked out at £212.50 per win for my ST !!!!

4176 sold with 24 days to go to the end of the discount period. 100% retention of existing STHs that haven't renewed would take us to just under 5.5k. I expect we'll end up close to that. Seems like sales are up at most clubs at this level. Perhaps people are seeing the value of their local club and turning off the bore-fest of Sky sports premiership football...

… and the season after they averaged 6,601.

Their third previous promotion from this league saw them average 7,198.

We’re talking about 1,000 fans on average here or there, but your pedantic behaviour is excused.
But they didn't They averaged 5300 finishing 8th again in 2011/12. The season after that, when they WON THE LEAGUE, they averaged 6600. Therefore the direct comparison about an "average" season after promotion was in fact pertinent. I was born in Chatham and my paternal family are Gills, so this isn't a slight on them, it's simply stating that par for the Gillls in this league is 5000, not 6000 (a full 20% difference) as you stated. Fancy you calling someone a pedant when it comes to attendances, when it's your biggest fúcking hobby

Wasn't slighting your attendances mate, just stated what it was. You did start the seqson with three sub-5k attendances, before you could know how truly shite you'd be. Like I said, no doubt if you are gunning for promotion in this league you would average 6000+, but never look likely to be in the promotion hunt and it will be close to 5000. Again not a slight, just respomding to the Bradford berk stating 6000-6500 is par for the Gills in League 2

The fact that anyone watches teams in the 4th tier is great let alone several thousand for pretty much every club. (Salford excepted)

Dick waving over previous years attendance figures, good grief. It’s league 2 we’ve got more fans watching shite football than you :fl:

So we both agree that they typically average circa 6,000 during a decent/promotion season in League Two?

Isn’t that what my original post highlighted? “As with all clubs, good attendances are based on performance” - or something to that effect.

Again, we’re talking about 1,000 fans, here - it’s neither here nor there. For a club like Grimsby, I acknowledge a 1,000 fans on average is the difference between OK and absolutely fantastic.

We've gone above 5'000 which is very good considering we're generally a walk up type of club. I haven't got one for example. Obviously below Bradford, almost certainly below Swindon. In the mix with Tranmere and maybe Doncaster (how many do they get?) for the top 5 average attedances. Depends how well clubs are doing, teams like Grimsby are selling well, if they're up there, they'll be similar to us.
Yeah I'd imagine we'll be top 5ish at home. Wouldn't be at all surprised if we top the average away table, which is of course the real quiz.

We’ve cleared 3,600

To say last season (including half season ticket sales) we sold 2,800 - which in turn was the most we’d ever sold, it’s madness.

Only team that beat us in this division last season got promoted Firthy_BCAFC so laugh away my friend, but it's hardly an outlandish shout. Our away support was class last season, the highlight for me being a 2.5k sellout to Notts when we were midtable in Feb and had lost 8 or 9 away matches on the bounce, doubt many in this division would take that if they were top of the league.

Great going that. Seems like plenty of clubs are having huge uptakes. Is that a record for you?

Interesting response.

I don’t recall even commenting on your support last season, so I’m not sure why you’re being so defensive.

Oh well if you were merely laughing at The Office reference then apologies.

Haha I only really looked at the 3600 number. Is that stand down the left side (from the away view) in action yet?

How many did you sell in the old Div One days? Apparently our record (from then) was 4,500, and we're already pushing 4,000 now
Less than 2,000 I believe. We've never had huge numbers season ticket wise (until now I suppose); 4,000 gone now.

PS. Would have replied earlier but been away.

Nah. good old bishop street.

The fans are very divided on it and had we gone up i think they’d have done something more about it.

Whereas it’s an eyesore it actually brings in decent revenue from the advertising etc so well, it’s better to be there than not - though it does look pretty daft

4226 sold as of Saturday 25th June. That's a new record already, still got until 19th July for renewals to claim their old seats. We might reach 5,000!

I saw that you can get a season ticket at West Ham for cheaper than what I pay at Orient. Our's aren't badly priced, it's just they are literally giving away tickets down the road (£299 + £335 for the two cheapest price bands).

I heard we are just over 3k sold now, looking like we will struggle to get to the 4k+ we've had in recent years. Our early bird renewal prices finish this week, so I guess we'll have a better idea of where we are once that ends.

Yeah, but you get to see more games with your ticket, 23 compared to West Hams 19.

Plus Orient have a nice ground where you're right on the pitch, not a hundred yards from the nearest bit of the running track

The only figure we got was a week ago, where they said we were 10% up on our final figure from last season. So a rise in season ticket sales at Sixers too.

Our tickets seem to have become available online last night, albeit the club haven't mentioned it.

Pontoon completely sold out, Findus (or whatever we are going to call it now - the Myenergi?) a few singles. So the only availability for home fans is the back of the oldest stand in the football league - viewing from there the ball disappears when its above head height, plus about 300 seats in the end two blocks. I'm banking on a ST resale operation...

Yes, as an exile I am going to struggle to get in if we are doing well. Might have to buy very early once the remaining seats go on sale each match. Some away games could well be difficult too.
