Nothing he does surprises anymore as he's scored plenty of goals similar to that in his career. He is also the best passer around, he passes better than any midfielder in the world. Almost every time he is on the ball he is creating a clear goalscoring chance for someone. The only word to describe him is insane and that it is cheating to have him on your side. Nobody can seriously tell me there's been a better player than this in the history of football.

Imagine ronaldo scoring that, he'd run away from his fellow players with a miserable look on his face pointing to his name on his shirt.

Messi Rules!

Funny thing is that Messi has scored about a gazillion similar goals throughout his career. We can't afford to take him for granted.

This Barca is really, really good. They will take some stopping next week.

That was a great match, Bilbao's fans were tremendous as always and I loved that both sets fans booed the anthem at the start! :D

On to the match itself, what can you say, Messi is probably the only footballer in the world that everyone (who isn't a Real Madrid fan), would stand up and applaud for when he scores goals like that. He literally makes me speechless when he does stuff like that, same the other week in the Bayern match with the chip in. Even the commentators Tyler and Neville were stunned. The guy is the greatest footballer of them all unquestionably, I don't think we'll ever see the like of him again; enjoy him for the next 7 or 8 years he'll be playing as once he retires there will be a void!!

The link up play between the others was superb too, Suarez despite being out a few weeks looked sharp as did Neymar, though he still has to learn quite a bit (imagine how good he'll become if he does learn it all!). Yep they are going to take some stopping.

Really? Ok Messi is from another universe but Suarez currently is a better player than Neymar (thats not to say that I don't think that Neymar could one day be the best player in the world). Anyway it doesn't really matter I suppose, the three of them are frighteningly good together, thats 120 goals and about 50-odd assists between them - crazy!

Suarez is much better than Neymar, in fact he doing most of the hard work and Neymar ends up scoring a tap in :D

All 3 are great though, never thought they'd work so well together.

If you go through Mr Andrews' posts, you'll find the majority are criticising Suarez, I wouldn't take anything he says seriously.

Suarez is pure class, absolutely brilliant off the ball too which often goes unnoticed.

I dunno, it's been noticed enough times to warrant a few bans.

Saw the first half - Barca were simply all over Bilbo and could have been 2/3 more goals up.

Guess they eased off a bit in the 2nd.

Amazing from Messi but then you aren't surprised!

I can't believe that Messi is only 27. We could still have another 5 years of him being the best player on the planet by far, even if he loses some of his physical attributes. The guy is dumbfounding, there really aren't enough superlatives to describe how good he is at football. With Suarez and Neymar beside him, they have a chance to eclipse Guardiola's Barcelona as the greatest club side of all-time, just a few years on. And they are fun to watch now.

They have the best player in history, the clear third best player in the world (Suarez) and a top ten player in the world probably (Neymar) as their front three. It's just not fucking fair.

I hope he doesn't win anything and gets sacked this time next season. I'm pretty sure that's what is going to happen as well.

Imagine looking back on your career in years to come and reminiscing about all those trophy wins. Fantastic player.
Indeed, those are only the trophies won at his club too; there's just the small matter of TWO Euro Championships AND a WORLD CUP! :D

Astonishing, and he could have a fourth Champions League on Saturday (I hope so anyway!).

I was looking for the World Cup amongst those trophies there as well, a few more to add with the national team. It's not like he was a bit part player in either side for the majority of those trophies either - he was part of some of the best midfields in modern football and a vital part too.
