you are right, the article I read was from a month ago. Sorry, brainfart post.
Actually you may be correct after all if TalkShite is to be believed :

' Liverpool and Manchester City are interested in Barcelona forward Pedro. The 27-year-old could be allowed to leave for £18m despite signing a new contract this summer. (Talksport, via Mundo Deportivo) '

Not worth £18 mill these days though.

Just found out that Elche got relegated to the Segunda despite finishing 13th last season. Spain are also starting to force clubs to keep their finances clean.

I'm sure Elche have saner finances than Barca but hey ho.

Benitez is already falling out with Ronaldo! I didn't think that would happen until the season started at least.

Yeah hearing that Ronaldo is mocking his training techniques and that he doesn't respect him.

If Real Madrid have another season where they self-implode all the better.

Is that because he was asked to pass the ball around to teammates?

Rafa is a very good manager, but to become a great one he will need to improve his bedside manners. Real is definitely the most challenging place in that respect.

Are you suggesting he coaxes players into sleeping with him?

Apparantly Bt Sport have won the rights to show La Liga this season.
Is it this year? Wow, I thought it was for next season onwards. Interesting.

All over for Sky Sports. Forced to spend too much on the PL and they've lost everything else.

Can't wait to see how they will try and advertise a super sunday of WBA v Hull and Stoke v Sunderland!

Don't think Sky sports 5 is the home of European football anymore. All they have is the Dutch league.Maybe Sky think showing GAA, Equestrian and Netball super league, is going to keep subscriptions up.

This is from another source and may or may not be true so take it with a pinch of salt so to speak.

"It is understood that Sky made a far bigger first-round offer for La Liga, but were upset enough about the tender going to a second round that they withdrew from a contest BT believed they had no chance of winning."

So if that is true then Sky shot themselves in the foot by throwing their toys out the pram.

Yeah saw that earlier. Doesn't matter to me if it went or not I'd be streaming it either way! ;)

Big shock with Barca getting destroyed 4 - 0 by Bilbao that. Even if they go all guns blazing at home, it is going to be doubtful they'll pick up this trophy at least.

Just the eight goals conceded in Barca's last two matches then.

They didn't get off to the best of starts last season and it didn't seem to matter in the end.

I don't imagine we'll be seeing the Masch-Vermaelen duo again any time soon.

Blame Zubizarreta for Vermaelen (and Douglas who they paid a lot for and will never be good enough), what was he thinking!

Twitter awash with rumours saying Real Madrid are signing Mateo Kovacic from Inter for €35m. Really good player, must surely mean the exit of Illaramendi
