That's why I put in Beckenbauer due to his domestic, European and World Cup record (and thats excluding the World Cup he won as a manager!) which Giggs couldn't touch though I think I'm right in saying Giggs is the most successful British player trophy wise of them all?

The best teams and managers in the world know that you need to constantly evolve and always make changes even after massively successful seasons. Real will be licking their lips at the chance to get one up on Barca next season assuming Rafa doesn't fuck it all up.

Agreed, but that frontline and the midfield that serves it will take some stopping currently. You close down the space on one or two players but they still then have another three or four that could seriously hurt you. They will have to evolve it of course over the next few seasons, but it doesn't need tinkering with currently.

None of those can match the Champions League's Xavi has though as I think all of them only won the CL once maybe (possibly fat Ronaldo has a couple if he was at Real in from 98-2002 when they won three I believe)?

Don't think Ronaldo ever won the European Cup, actually.

From what I can see, Casillas and Iniesta are the only two other players who come close. Although if we're including personal honours as well then Zidane smashes it.

Cafu has won everything but has also won the world cup twice, which has to be equivalent to at least two Champions League medals under my incredibly arbritrary rationale.

Cafu was a heck of a player, and he won a couple of Copa America's too which would be equivalent to our Euro's. He definitely would match Xavi, Iniesta and Casillas for top trophies won I'd say along with Beckenbauer and the other Germans in the Bayern team of the Seventies and the West German side back then. Still a heck of a short list though. Maldini has 5 CL's, but nothing with Italy.

Pedro extended his contract a few months back, I doubt he'd only be available for that if he has just re-signed?
