Uh oh. I thought Rouge One was supposed to be film eight of the saga. Looks like 3.5 to me, rebels steal plans for the Death Star. Are Star Wars films going to be annual now? Action films with the Star Wars template?

To me, the trailer seems like it could be for almost any "good vs evil" science fiction movie.

Bar the AT-AT's, retro Rebellion gear and lightsabers of course.

Come on, it's Star Wars no matter how diluted it is. :bg:

There will be a Star Wars film every year for the foreseeable future. The anthology films be mostly stand alone and all over the place in terms of timeline though.

The trailer looks very 'meh', too dark and not what Star Wars should be. I suppose they all need to be a bit more serious though to add 'gravitas'.

Mads Mikkelsen and Ben Mendelsohn are in it though even though I don't think I saw them, so for those reasons alone I'll be buying my ticket.

Well the movie is supposed to be a war film so I expect it to be a little dark. Really like the trailer and the shot of the AT-AT's was perfect.

Loved the Trailer, looks far better than I hoped for a standalone film, and makes me happy to see what else they do.

Like Marvel I hope Disney keeps going with this, because a new Star Wars film every year will be great even more so if its not just another sequel/prequel following the same story but new stuff just set in the star wars universe.

Never got the fascination with Boba Fett. He was in the 2nd and 3rd films so little(and he did so little) that I couldn't see what the focus was with him.

I always think of Boba Fett as the oddest beloved character in film. He looks pretty cool. Sure. But he actually has, what is it, 6 lines? I have no idea why he has such a following... you hear some people talk about him as if he's the greatest Star Wars character. He wouldn't even enter a top, like, 20 or something, for me.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

But Star Wars is the archetype of that genre anyway.

And he dies like a bitch. (Or not... But still leaves the action in a really shit way.)

Same with his old man who died seeing a decrepit Sam Jackson running at him like Bo Derek in 10.

He was built up a fair amount in the extended universe before it was dismissed as cannon.

I've got my ticket for tomorrow morning booked before I go to work. From what I'm reading from early impressions I'm hyped as fuck to see it.

Name your top 20 then.

Fuck it, I'll have a shot. In no particular order, 20 characters that I found better than that over rated bounty hunter:

Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, Obi Wan, Qui Gon (yeah that's right an episode 1 characters better fuck you), Vader, Palpatine, Darth Maul, Yoda, Jabba, Padme, Sebulba, Grevious, Mace Windu, Rey, Finn, Poe, Kylo, R2D2, C3PO, Tarkin, Lando, Dooku, Watto (yeah fuck off Watto was great fuck you) what's that?

Ok I make that 25, and yeah ok, fair enough the likes of Sebulba are probably about on a par, if that. But I don't think I'd take 6 of those 25 out to make room for Boba Fett. I dunno, if I were actually arsed to put the time and effort in, perhaps he'd make it into a proper top 20 for me. But the fact that I'm saying "perhaps" is pretty much why I find it puzzling that so many people hold him in such high esteem.

Also, yes, I realise that I could have just gone to piss everybody off by saying Jar Jar, but even I can't bring myself to do that.
