JJH, I don't know how to keep telling you this but Pearson is a definite no go.
You haven't told me that once. I've been the one that has said since the day Cotterill has sacked that he won't come here now.

Like I've said previously, it's foolish to think that a manager like Pearson would come here mid-season a risk a relegation on his CV, but we'd have more chance of getting him in the summer.

Money talks - if we stay up, go to him and offer him a massive wage and give him a big budget and tell him to get us out of this division. I believe we would be able to get him in the summer, but not in the position we're in now.

I'm not a huge fan of Graysonball but Lee Johnson's toothless, tippy tappy shite would drive me up the wall.

Why has it suddenly become a taboo to put two wingers on the pitch and ask them to whip crosses in? we're not in bloody Spain, if you've got a big fucker from Cumbria up front, then land a cross on the c***'s head.

My dad text me about half hour ago saying that LJ will be announced tomorrow. I know he used to get a bit from Richard Hoskin (BBC journalist) as he used to be a regular in the studio on Twentyman Talks Back, but not sure where he heard this and he hasn't replied so I presume he's gone to sleep.

Don't shoot the messenger like.

Like he's going to leave the opportunity of a wembley game and play off push for relegation with Bristol City.

I think you'll find he certainly would, if you knew his history with the club which you clearly don't.

I've mentioned numerous times on this thread it is a definite no no. You may have missed it.

Bristol City aren't an attractive prospect and I'm sure he's more than put off by the commute he'd have.

Cos he played for you a few times and his dad was manager? Hardly Don and Gary Megson is it. He will join purely for money much like leaving Oldham for Barnsley.

Yes I know you have, but I've never disputed that he wouldn't join us mid-season.

I don't see why we wouldn't be an attractive prospect, big city, new stadium, big wage, money to spend...

What makes other clubs in this league (barring the obvious few) more attractive than us potentially, if we stay up this season?

It's not a new stadium, it is a revamped one, marginal difference I know. You've spent eff all really this term and your wage budget cannot be deemed competitive can it given you're bottom 5.

I just can't see him taking the job, I've met him a few times and you always feel he's waiting for that job higher up, more prestige.

Revamped? We've knocked down two stands and refitted 1 of the 2 still standing, whilst adding nearly 9,000 extra seats. Whatever it is, it's not revamp, but feels like a new stadium.

Our owner has stated numerous times that our wage budget won't be competitive until the stadium revamp is finished and we're receiving all the revenue that all other clubs are in this division from corporate facilities and such.

He said publicly a few weeks ago (maybe stupidly) that the plan was to stay up this season, and go for it next season, so you'd imagine if we do stay up we'll be handing out wages like we have done in this division in the past, but this time we need to get it right. The season we went down and Cardiff won the league they were the only side to have a bigger wage expenditure in that league which was ridiculous in itself.

I agree with you, not a hope in hell he'd take the job now - but in the summer? Who knows, I wouldn't categorically rule it out.

Anyway, may be a pointless debate this as it's being reported this morning that we're closing in on our new man *sigh*.

What history? Daddy used to play him for you and you then unfairly got rid of his dad.

Bet he can't wait to leave that cushty job at Barnsley he's got.

Quick question, have Newcastle got a new stadium or revamped? Man United? Forest?

So Lansdown is willing to ignore FFP? Sounds promising.

It's a re-development, not a revamp. A revamp is a lick of paint, a re-development is more substantial.

No, we'll be able to spend within our means with the extra revenue generated.

What history? Daddy used to play him for you and you then unfairly got rid of his dad.

Had his longest stint in his career here. Always greatly received when he comes back, and his dad's a bit of a legend here.

And not to mention what Walkley said... $$$$$.

Like i said daddy played him and you got rid of his dad unfairly, he might not love you as much as what you think.

Money is only incentive and when you say that out loud that Lee Johnson's only incentive to join Bristol City from Barnsley is money then it must kill you.

Small club really.

Not even going to bite at such a silly comment.

But anyway, if what came out was true with Johnson hitting Sproule in training his sacking was justified.

Silly? not even remotely big, not even a pull for league one cloggers.

That worked out well didn't it, backing Ivan Sproule hahahaha

You don't belong here, little clubs like yours should be rotting in the lower leagues.

Bristol's footballing credentials are that poor that the city is probably the biggest embarrasment to european football.

Yes, and you know full well that we do. We've spent more years in this division than any other.

Your WUMming is still as tiresome as ever, have you been pushed out of the other forum for it as well?

You're not going to improve turnover that much to be honest. You had 8m turnover on the back of a great season last year. To compete that has to at least double.

You don't the likes of Mkat Dons and Rotherham are much more attractive pulls for managers and players alike, let that sink it.

Only ever been on one other forum, which got shut down.

This forum would be as boring as ever without me, just cos i don't join in group wanking sessions of a has been club, infact you never have been anything.
