quite possibly but Pembo is only 3/1 so didn't feel like betting on those odds.

On Pearson, could quite conceivably want to get a better picture of the job and task at hand before taking it etc.

Pembo was 1/4 on Skybet when I checked about an hour ago.

Another wonderful decision from our hierarchy if true. Morons.

Appointing Pemberton as interim manager would be fine by me if we: a) weren't in the midst of a desperate relegation battle that we simply must win at all costs... and b) didn't have an incredibly thin squad with very little quality.

As it is, we are crying out for experience and a person with good contacts. To give Pemberton the job at this stage would be utter madness. Come on board. Show us that you are worthy of making big decisions.

It's a real dilemma TBH. No 'name' Manager will want to blot his copy book with a relegation while avoiding the drop will probably mean Pembo gets the gig. I've nothing at all against JP but should he get the long term role, isn't it a path we've been down too many times before and it's never worked?

Well we finished 10th and 15th under Millen. Which is our 2nd and 3rd best finishes in 23 years and 2nd and 4th for almost 40......

Why did we sack the man who gave us our best again?

Bottom of the table with 6 points in 10 games after a 5-0 loss to Blackpool, with a squad that should've been comfortably mid-table. Even we weren't that bad this season, 7 points after 10 games then won our next game, and no losses with more than a 2 goal difference.

Yeah, Millen absolutely had to go. We were a shambles and he wasn't gonna turn it around. And as bad as McInnes turned out, he did well to keep us up that season.

Really? I thought he had signed an agreement with Villa saying he wouldn't take another job this season.

They'd probably waive that agreement for a team in the division below

I might have got it slightly wrong. He was paid £2m compensation, but will have to give back part of it if he takes another job within a year of him leaving Villa.

I'm with Jordan, give it to Warnock. He's a realistic option and has a good track record at this level.

As much as I'd like Warnock, he's burnt his bridges with Lansdown supposedly. Can't see it.

I thought Warnock had retired before he took the QPR job?
"Warnock stayed on for the 2008–09 season, but on taking the job a year earlier he had made it clear that the Crystal Palace job would be his last managerial role in football, with the club's finances beginning the take a turn for the worse."

Didn't he say Sheffield United would be his final job too?

He's gonna jump out of the coffin at his funeral and proclaim to the audience that he still has "one more challenge" in him, the fucking dinosaur.

I actually think Warnock might be finished as a manager. His last two jobs have been short term at clubs he'd previously managed, I could see him doing something similar again but not another permanent job.

He lives in Cornwall and has always wanted to manage us. It'd be tempting for him more than other opportunities.

Could be a good week to be working there!
Any more titbits?
Fairly quiet today, apparently the second bid is being prepared for Gilbey though.

I'll keep you all updated though if I do hear anything, which the chances are I will do.

Good man!
You on a placement at the BP or chance of a permanent role there?

Aye, just a placement there for this week pal. Hopefully I make the right impression for if a job there comes up in the future!

I wouldn't rule it out mind - with the amount of stick Stockhausen gets on Twitter nowadays from City fans he must be contemplating his resignation!
