It's genuinely as bad as when Brentford fans thought they could attract Rogers. Laughable.
I don't think any of us genuinely thought we could, or would even try. It was as ridiculous as when we were almost odds on to have Klopp as our next manager (someone at Sky Bet must have been high then...). Also it wouldn't fit the model we've had a club the last 5-6 years, recruit from within or go lower league / abroad.

Besides if we were ever to go down the route of a big name manager, we're a much more attractive proposition than you at this point.

Have no idea who I'd like. Moyes is unrealistic to say the least. Pearson seems unlikely and he's a twat. However would be quite a coup. Probably be my choice. If we appoint someone on the cheap then I reckon everything SC was saying with regards to wages was right.

Whether he'll take it or not is a different matter, but I've been told he's the man they want.

Fair enough. I'd be very happy if that was the case!

Getting him though like you say, is another matter. With our luck this season!

Pearson it is then if Lansdown stumps up the cash.

Cotterill's critics (stubborn, moody, prickly, selfish, myopic) ain't seen nothing yet.

Mixed feelings on this, thanks for a fantastic year last year Cotts. Didn't think it was beyond him to still turn it around- apparently 2 players were due to have medicals today but backed out because of the sacking- however Tuesday night was when I first thought something needs to change soon.

We need to have somebody in by the Leeds game at the very very latest. The clock is ticking and our squad as it stands has no chance of survival.

Give it to Mike Appleton and we'll be a Premier League outfit in two years. Make it happen.

Mark Ashton appointed as the new CEO. He's bound to give it to Appleton.

Fucking hell.

We aren't exactly great judges of manager given our reaction to the last few appointments... I remember when Cotterill was appointed there was a few posts of "I'm done with this football club" or "that's it for me"... And no doubt those same people were milking our two trophies 18 months later. On the other hand, SOD and McInnes were given a warm welcome. The only manager we've been right about in recent years is Gary Johnson!

I personally hope it isn't Appleton but then what the hell do I know about football management? If he gets it, he should be backed. Let's hope for Pearson though!

Apparently Appleton had ruled himself out and is looking to sign a long term deal at Oxford. Thank fook for that.

Still, funny we can't even sign a manager in League 2

I think Appleton will be a very very good manager. Don't think he's ready yet though. Good decision to stay at Oxford.

The Oxford mail. I would have been gutted if we approached him. That said got a feeling I'm going to be disappointed when an appointment is eventually made.

I've never seen a more photoshopped picture in my life

Maybe he'll manage their Under 21s instead? Much better pedigree of signings of late

Talking about Moyes, am I right in saying he has never managed in the championship? Not totally sure I'd want him if it was us, I'd prefer Pearson.

Anyway, it's all conjecture, for some reason he thinks he can get a big job somewhere despite his last 2 debacles.
