Interestly Boston have signed Fabian Spiess after Henrik Ravas was signed by Derby. Surprised by that as he looked very shaky against especially at York Street.

He was on non contract with us as I understood it.

Yeah he's improved a lot but still looks a little shaky at times. Hopefully Speiss turns into the big presence we'd ideally want in goal. Had a little more experience than the other lads so fingers crossed

great result for us today, new left back looks crap, the more I see of connerton, the more I hate him. Josh hine was outstanding today, onto 12 for the season. Still don't like Jansen, that's only our 5th clean sheet this season! Great support today considering the weather, 1,011

Another abomination of a performance today as we lost 1-0 at home to bottom of the table telford.
Young comes out with his usual guff about being strong and not walking away, which we all know is code for I haven't got a clue how to turn this around but you gave me a 2 year contract so pay me off.

Was shocked when I saw the result!

Moors 1-3 Ferriby
Ferriby controlled the game and deserved to win. Their huge striker, Tom Denton bullied our usually strong defence and scored 2 goals. We went 2-0 down early on, but Knights scored for us just before half time, so I was expecting an exciting 2nd half. However, just 5 minutes into the 2nd NFU scored again and the game just became a non event at 3-1.
Good crowd of 684 and still top of the league!

Young is on course to becoming one of our worst ever managers. A bigger budget, a lot more mistakes, dreadful football, piss poor signings - he's jut not got a clue.

Glad you have come round to my way of thinking Sam - mind you it appears he hasn't got a supporter left after today.

I've genuinely been quite confident up until today, I did bare in mind the amount of bad luck we had up until about November and I thought if we got our best 11 out consistently, signed a striker we could make the play offs but things change quickly in football and there is no way we have a chance of the play offs.

I somehow managed to convince a mate of mine to come today, safe to say he won't be back. Truly awful football, really dissapointed in Young, he's made so many big mistakes.

I'm struggling to pick a handful of players that I would keep for next season as well now.
Btw I've just seen your post on yellowboard and Smalley has played more of his career at right back than centre half from what I can tell. Right back is certainly where he played under Gannon at Northwich.

Fair enough RE Smalley, our best right back is Morton so I have no idea what he's done wrong to not get picked.

The only permanent players I'd keep are O'Hanlon, Rule, Montrose and Garvin. Maybe Ledsham, Morton and Connolly aswell.

Don't think we have a bad squad, but Young isn't helping himself.

Brackley (Diggin 26) 1-4 Alfreton (Jones 53, Bradley 57, Wilson 74,Bradley 75)

Absolute Classic game of two halves today and a game which summed our season up. First half we were woeful. Bulled off the park who played the terrible pitch and weather better than us and we would have had no complaints to be three down at the break. Indebted to a trio of top Saves from Matt Duke for that.

Second half was like a role reversal.

Lindon Miekle was immense and quite simply too good for Brackley. He went on a 40 yard run before setting up Jones to level the game. Dan Bradley was then felled for stone wall penalty just minutes later. He stepped up to take but saw his initial effort saved before slotting the rebound home. He tore the Brackley left back to shreds all the second half and it was his cross which picked out Wilson with 15 minutes left. Wilson then superbly chipped the goalkeeper before less than a minute later Bradley raided down the left again and beat Hornby at his near post to seal the game 4-1.

The Brackley captain Ryan Austin was earlier booked for the hosts for a late lunge with studs on Sam Smith which Brackley never really seemed to recover from.

I could see Young's thinking slightly regarding the Morton situation, as at the time we barely conceded a goal and Morton's slack marking cost us a couple of goals, but where he got it wrong was bringing in the first player he could find in Tonge who clearly wasn't a upgrade and I knew that before he even kicked a ball for us.

Our midfield doesn't protect the back four particularly well and there is a complete lack of goals and creativity going forward so I'm not sure why you would want to keep so many of them.

Montrose blows hot and cold but I'd keep him, he reminds me of Blizzard actually, probably better in a midfield three though under a different manager.

Garvin hasn't been given a fair crack of the whip in his best position so I would probably keep him, I was told in August and again In September by someone ITK that Young hasn't rated him from basically the start, so it would be nice to see him further forward with a manager who believes in him.

Rule is almost as much as a fraud as Baggie in my eyes and it's ludicrous he has flew under the radar with the fans whereas Ledsham offers very little quality but again it would be nice to him in a different role under a different manager before making a final decision in the summer.

Yeah I think Morton got dropped after Solihull away where his marking cost us a goal, but Young has said a few times he does like to develop younger players, but that's clearly not true after the way he treated Morton and Gonzales for that matter.

Montrose and Rule were brilliant at the start of the season, and that's all I base it on, ever since Rule's 10 game ban we haven't been the same, Rule did a lot of Montrose's dirty work and chipped in with goals, Young rushed him back, he got injured and hasn't looked the same player.

There was a post on the County supporters page on Facebook a few months ago asking who is our player of the season so far and pretty much everyone said Montrose, he's a frustrating player at times as he looks very lethargic a lot of the time but he's clearly a good player, I agree he'd be better in a midfield 3, when Ledsham played on the left at the start of the season we were solid as Ledsham would sometimes make a midfield 3.

Garvin is our most creative player, I'd like to see him in a free role and let him create.

Don't think Rule is a fraud, recently he has been off it but like I mentioned, he was rushed back after his 2 month ban, and then got injured. So dissapointed in Baggie, was brilliant in pre season and looked great against FCUM but he's useless now, was really excited when we signed him.

He started the season well (but not brilliant) and gained a cult following which is seeing him dip under the radar. In reality he is an overweight average Conference North midfielder who has let us down massively with the biting incident and the 10 game ban that followed. He should have spent that two months out getting himself into peak condition and looking to up his performances to make amends when he came back, but he in fact has done the complete opposite.

I think he has one league goal or possibly two and can't remember a single assist of the top my head. When he was out suspended It absolutely baffled me when people on yellowboard were saying things like "when we get Rule back he will add creativity to the side and we will start scoring more goals".

Yeah he was told he could leave a while ago though and also nearly ended up getting his contract ripped up before that after complaining he wasn't getting played enough.
But then Young realised the player he brought in Joyce was even worse and Kirby got recalled so eventually he recalled him with his confidence at an all time low :jones:

Not really happened for him since his Southport days. Thought he'd do ok at North level, though, so I'm surprised it's not worked out.

Jim Gannon was always a big fan of his, if he possibly comes back for a 3rd spell I should imagine he will try and utilise him and if not I should imagine he will head over to Stalybridge and Watson.

I don't see why you let Gonzalez go, seemed like a very good player, scored a great goal against us for clitheroe after he went back there from you.

Fell out with our manager, shame cos I wanted him to stay
To be fair he was awful for us and never looked like scoring in a million years, the problem wasn't getting rid of Gonzales it was signing him in the first place when we already had a couple of targetman type strikers in the squad. He also had some attitude problems which weren't down to Young.

Stockport County 0-1 Telford United.
We've won an away game! Curtis Tilt, our centre back had a cracking game and County rarely troubled us. We possibly shaded the game on chances though Stockport were poor. Heading for a goalless draw until the County keeper had a rush of blood, up ending Reid for a stone wall penalty two minutes from time. A rare ray of sunshine, in a truly awful season. (7 away goals in 12 games, 2 wins 10 defeats on the road).
