Agree with this I much prefer our kits with the gold trim, we ditched it for a while at the turn of the millennium and they looked to bland for me, some of our best times had the gold trim.

Black white and Gold all the way.
The thing is with Vale kits, I don’t know if it’s just because of the negative preconception I have, but I find most of your kits tacky, Derby are similar to you but they pull it off. The brands you usually go with are poor imo. You had some good ones in the 90s and Vandanel always did a good job I thought.

Think we made our own for a period then were Mizuno.

Vandanel ones were ok but generally fell apart or went off white very quick. Errea have been the best which we are going back to after a year out. Quality wise easily the best.

Have to agree and without wanting to upset some other posters, it's the tacky 'gold/off yellow' trim that usually does it. Give me minimalist, white shirt with black trim and black shorts.

As you say, Derby tend to be able to pull of that classy look so it is possible. Saying that, our Errea kits on the whole have been decent enough, especially in our relegation season where all three were brilliant.

We have released a teaser ahead of the launch on Saturday!!!!!

Could still be almost any of the ideas the fans got to vote on, five of them have white collars and even though number 1 has a red collar I think all those sort of details were subject to change.

Don't mind that Bradford shirt. It's fairly simple but it works.

Bradford's shirt is basic and un-fussy, but all the better for it. Too many designs these days are an over elaborated mess. If I could make one change it would be for some kind of a collar.

I can't actually remember Bradford not having that sponsor, has anyone else had the same sponsor for longer?
They've used that sponsor from 1997 onwards but had used other sponsors between 2006-2013. We've had Youngs as a sponsor for the last 16 years.

We've had Mira for 11 years now so don't have the longest sponsors - our kits have been supplied by Errea for 22 years (and counting) though. I'm quite certain that's the longest in the Football League.

Does that mean you're the longest serving?

If you are serving, I'll have a battered haddock, chips and gravy please boss.
You bloody well will not. Wash your mouth out. Gravy with fish. Now don’t get me wrong, I like a drop of gravy on me chips, but only with scraps or a pie. Only peas are allowed with fish. Anything else is a crime.

Aye, well our ex chairman, Jack Tordoff, owns said company. Without wanting to come across condescending, as I don’t know what your knowledge of JCT600 is; but it's an incredibly healthy new car business model, serving Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. Last years revenue; £1.25bn.

He’s worth about £400m. Hopefully one day, he’ll sponsor more than just the Kit and Main stand at City.

My money would be the middle one on the left of your picture, if that is the back of the collar, as it is the only one that appears to have a detail that could be the same as the above. Overall the designs aren't too bad, whichever you end up with. We have been promised something really radical, so gawd only knows what that will be...though I am guessing it won't be anything like the shirt that is made up from pictures of sausages.

....and we still wait...are any others still waiting?
We have been told that the first team kit will be announced at our open day 20 July.

Our new away kit is set to be revealed in early July.

We have an open day at the end of July which is when our kits are usually released so there seems to be a little confusion there.

To be fair, I never knew what it was (and like Big Bird, spent a lot of time reading it as something different) until I was looking for a car and saw it all over autotrader.

You could ask him to drop you the odd million if he's worth so much.

I do like the Bradford shirt, simply done and looks quite classy.

I didn't know what JCT600 was, but I did recognise that it has been part of the fabric (pun intended) of the recent Bradford City kit.

Without going dangerously down a political route, I do wonder about the future of the car industry given the current clamour of climate change, Brexit and the future of the diesel engine etc. It could be an incredibly healthy new car business now, but give it a few years...........

Tordoffs a very clever man and I'd think he'd follow the market in whichever direction it goes. Whatever happens, the UK needs cars so the demand will always be there.

Oh I don't doubt that he is. Not really sure why I bothered with my comment to be honest, bored at work on a Friday I guess! :)

We had Eddie Stobart for 18 years unbroken, they became such a key part of our identity that we started printing the number of years the sponsorship was into on the back of the shirts, and of course famously wore their corporate colours as an away shirt and in a Wembley final, and then wore black armbands when Eddie Sr. died. They stopped sponsoring us when we were relegated to this division, I think the word was that Eddie Jr. wasn't as interested in football as he was in rugby league and they currently have a long-running sponsorship deal with Widnes Vikings.

I think I can remember Bradford having two separate spells with JCT6000 as sponsor rather than one super-long one.

Tranmere had Wirral MBC sponsoring them for quite a long time, and I believe Arsenal's deal with JVC was quite a long one back in the day too. Haven't Scunny been sponsored by Rainham Steel since God were a lad too? AFC Wimbledon have been sponsored by SI Software for their entire history.

A few of them seem to have something written there. The person who took the photo managed to get it all blurry but that would be because the shop staff were telling people not to take photos so they'd have had to be quick.

I think we hadn't even selected Errea as our kit manufacturers at that point though, so I presume details such as the colours of collars are pure speculation, and the club never released the results of the poll, just said they were taking them into account so we'll probably end up with something that might contain aspects from one or more of those designs.

According to our board, our away kit next season will be a colour we 'haven't had before'.

This rules out the following colours.
  • Red
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Purple
  • White
  • Black
  • Dark Grey
I would say it leaves the following shitty and/or insipid colours
  • Light Grey
  • Pink
  • Beige
  • Orange
  • Light Green
  • Khaki
  • Turquoise
  • Brown
  • Maroon
  • Chartreuse
  • Sky Blue (bit risky like)
  • Blue (you never know)
I like to think it will be a combination of all of the above swirled together like a painter's pallet.

My money though is on either Orange or Pink, since these are relatively popular colours right now.
