4 pages already, blimey you Northerners are an excitable lot. Sh*ts on our Muff vs Muff thread which I believe was voted the most anticipated game on that FL thingy.... seems accurate as always.

You might be able to pay on the day, they are probably just trying to encourage people to pre buy.

If worst comes to worst, you'll def be able to buy tickets in the home end on the day.

Why the 'need to know ' .?..its a business ...Marks & Sparks don't need to know how many customers they will get , they can predict and analyse , but they open the doors and cope .....the most , will be 1500 , more like 800 ....but even if it were 2000 surely you can manage

It's their biggest game of the year Mr Glass, don't forget. The big one. The rivals. The must win. The pinnacle of the season.

They must think we have the same opinion.....

Is it not usually the police who decide which games have to be all-ticket? If a large away crowd is expected then they get a bit nervous about the prospect of people travelling without tickets and then not being able to get in and being left to cause mayhem in the city. That's what the police think would happen anyway, they can be a little heavy handed in forces that don't have a big club to deal with. Maybe not in your case as I presume your police are more used to policing Boro but you see it in a lot of police forces, like North Wales police designating Wrexham v Chester as a bubble-match.

I don't understand why away fans always want to pay on the gate anyway. If you're travelling to Carlisle then presumably you intend to go to the game so why wait until there before buying your ticket? Can you not buy tickets online on the morning of the game (we can)?

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy, you call something anticipated in the fred title and everyone turns up to see what the fuss is about :)

They stopped selling at noon today , thus eliminating anyone deciding at the last minute ....as for the Police , simply say , unless it's 10 000 turning up , you can cope ....we can do 1000 no bother ..1200 with a bit of jiggery-pokery ....only Carlisle and Leeds have meant that necessary over the last couple of years

If it is the police and not us who have made it all ticket then their concern isn't that they will be overwhelmed by numbers of Poolies inside the stadium, but that more Poolies will turn up than we have allocated space for, leaving a few hundred Poolies with nothing to do on the day but head to the pub, get lagered up and go looking for Carver.

As large as the stadium capacity is, it wouldn't be that easy to just play it by ear on the day in terms of where we put the away fans. We don't normally open the Waterworks End, which saves money on stewarding, we wouldn't be able to organise the stewarding on the day in order to open it if more Poolies than expected turned up.

I'm sure it's just the Police wanting to know what numbers they are going to have to deal with on the day, there's been trouble at this game before from divvys on both sides and I can't imagine it being all ticket has put too many off, 511 sold as of yesterday so 600 at a push I guess?

We're gonna fucking muller Hartlepool on Saturday and we'll nick their only decent player off them in January for no more than a fiver.
Now don't cry Poolie fans because that's a lot of money for a shitty little swinging dick club like yours.

Carlisle 4-0 Hartlepool is what I'm gonna go for.

If you win 4-0, I'll give you my pub.

If you don't, what's your offer?

The ball's in your court Carver.

Nice one PoolieKev! How old does one have to be to take ownership of a pub?

Carver being a pub landlord in Hartlepool doesn't even bear thinking about. Hope he manages to come up with an offer though, I want to see how that wager plays out. Maybe he'll offer to deliberately violate the terms of his ASBO and get sent back to the nick.

I only questioned the logic of having an 18000 stadium , if it's problematic to fill it 1/3rd full ......

As for the game ....the draw at Plymouth was no fluke ....we are more than capable of pinching a goal too ....we will be playing deep that's for sure , but we can be a threat ... I think you'll win by a single goal , but you know when they say dodgy ref decisions even themselves out ? ....well we are overdue a couple to go our way

Most of that capacity is in the terraced areas, two of which are for home fans and one we don't open unless we know it's necessary, so it's not really available to put extra away fans in. There's no problem with filling it if planned in advance as we saw with the visit of Everton.

I'm aware of Hartlepool's good away record. You have the lowest number of shots required per goal scored, we have the highest number of shots against required per goal conceded. It's a good job you don't need many shots per goal because you don't create much, while we're around bang-average in terms of how many chances opponents create against us. Be interesting to see how that plays out.

If things went perfectly by the statistics then a Carlisle clean sheet would be a good bet as you don't create many chances on average and therefore against a team that allow an average number of chances to the opposition you'll won't create many chances. Normally you still get goals because you don't need to create many chances, but on this occasion that may be cancelled out by our defensive doggedness. We shall see.

I'd agree if there was high demand from the Poolies but sounds like they've not sold very many. Surprised they've not sold 1000+ in truth.

Have you ever stopped to think that these delusions you have about your team aren't real?
