Agree with the other Oxford fan, Cambridge looked like they had the core of a good League 2 team.

We were very poor first half, second half we improved and we're unlucky not to win, as said above it was the clearest penalty i've seen not given, it really was that bad. We clearly missed Lundstram and O'Dowda, and players like Hylton and Sercombe just looked tired, got a week of now before Wembley to rest up, then only one more midweek game this season, so a chance to get players back in and hopefully kick on and get out of this division

I think the Oxford views are pretty close to my own - we're not good enough at the moment but probably only 3 or 4 players away from sustaining a promotion push. Having Berry, Legge and Dunk signed up for next year gives us the core of a top League 2 team. We're short on the flanks though.

Very surprised by the criticism of Legge - most Cambridge fans were raving about him after the match. I felt he won everything in the air and the couple of times he was exposed one on one with Roofe and Bowers he dominated them.

We struggle upfront at times. Although Williamson and Spencer are decent, they ain't Barry Corr and neither can play as a lone striker particularly well, which is the system Derry wants to use.

The game was a decent 0-0. We might have just shaded it but Oxford had small spells of pressure too.

I don't share the same views as the other Yellows on that, thought Legge was your star man and had a cracking game.

I think the Penalty decision is probably the most clear cut I have ever seen not given in my time watching football. Referee and Linesman should be ashamed at that. But a point was probably a fair result

Oxford fans - are you referring to the handsball in the box? I don't know whether the ref had a good view of it or not(the lino could have seen it but as we all know some linos are only there for raising their flags to signal offsides), but the incident in question is not clear even on the highlights.

As for the game, imo, I don't think either side should have lost that game, so a point each is fair.

I genuinely have no idea which team is going to grab that last playoff place. The win today puts us 4pts behind 7th with a game in hand (Hartlepool next Tuesday), but I don't think it'll be us. Wycombe are 7th at the moment, but I don't fancy them to stay there. Orient have lost a couple of key games recently but there is unquestionable ability in their ranks. Wimbledon have been on a very poor run of form this past month, but are capable of stringing some wins together. Below that, there's a few teams with hopes for a late push.

I am starting to believe that nobody wants 7th place. But, fwiw, I reckon LO and the Dons will drop out of the race and it will come down to Carlisle and Wycombe. I think Carlisle have the better players overall, but Wycombe look to me to be more equipped to grind out results, including draws which at this stage are nearly as important as victories. Note that I'm only talking about the po's. as draws don't really help those sides aiming for the autos like Rovers, Stanley and Plymouth.

Well we won our first must win. Now onto Plymouth for another. We are clinging onto the coat tails of the playoffs.

Looks like we've been slowing down recently as we near promotion, can't blame the squad, the job is 99.9%. Would be lovely to clinch promotion and the title next week against Rovers.

I agree, it would be lovely if you could beat Rovers next week.

Wimbledon are probably the team most deserving of 7th place because the rest of us trying to get it are too inconsistent and are simply not good enough.

Glad to see that is settled, who do we have in the playoffs?

This doesn't make sense.

Surely the side that finishes 7th will be the one most deserving, and the one who showed most consistency over the season?

For the record, I hope it is Wimbledon.

We are no different to any of the chasers. Frustratingly inconsistent.

I am at that stage now where I hope we don't get 7th, our players lack of desire in the last month has fucked alot of our supporters off. Even if we did scrap 7th, it would mean having to go to Accrington or Plymouth on a Sunday night - paying around £150 for the honour of watching either side beat us over two games. No Thanks, would rather we finished with a wimper to be honest and save me the hassle, time and money.

Can we have Nicky Hunt back then? Our season has gone to pot since he left.

Don't count us out of the automatic promotion race just yet. Five points behind third with a game in hand and a trip to hopeless Dagenham next week. Plymouth at home the week later should be very tasty.

I am of the same view with Wycombe that i hope we miss out on the play offs with our rotten style of play and lack of goals. Ainsworth is to blame with his bizarre team selection, tactics and late substitutions that are too late to change anything. He has become immune to criticism and is stuck in his ways knowing that he still has 4 years left on his contract :ffs: EVERY Wycombe fan i talk to hates the hoofball shit and the playacting/diving/time wasting but he takes no notice of the fans views thinking he knows what's best, well when crowds drop and less income comes into the club there is only one person to blame.

I hear this a lot from Wycombe fans and it always amuses me.
You have a style and you stick to it, not many like it but it works more often than not? - play off final last season and play off contenders this season tells me it does.
The reason I believe you are having a few dodgy results is due to the small squad you have - Just check out our bench yesterday to see what strength in depth is.
I remember Barnet coming to the Mem' under Davids and they played some of the best football I'd seen that season......they then got relegated.
I'd shudder to think what you'd say about a manager who has you struggling to avoid relegation each year.
Be careful what you wish for.

Considering he was your captain, its probably had a bit of an effect on your team. In 2012 we sold our then captain Stephen Dawson (remember him?!) to Barnsley and our team went to pot after that itself.

He's done ok for us, gets skinned by anyone with pace but overall he's been steady enough I feel.

He's better than the other options at right back. That's about as much as I can say for him.

We will be an instantly better side once Baudry returns from suspension and we can play out from the back a little bit. It's basically still in our hands. Next 5 games are all in London. No excuses to be had, as the lack of effort over the past month has been fucking disgraceful.

If you lot can keep some consistency for the remaining games, you're certainly in with a shout. However, always the feeling with Pompey that an unexpected loss is around the corner!

well, seeing as we've just won 2 in a row, and we haven't managed 3 wins on the bang all season, a dagenham win/draw looks on the cards saturday!
