I've no particular stake in this bizarre Barnet/Bristol punch-up but I did go off to look up Rovers' honours assuming they must have won important things at some point because I always think of them as quite big.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_Rovers_F.C.#Honours

Quite disappointing to see they're not even vaguely massive judging by that record. Kudos for the Watney Cup though.

How does one become a joint winner of the Maurren Woolridge Memorial Cup?

I don't get these attempts to make phony rivalries tbh, don't need another one. As I can remember we have one with Wycombe over a dodgy safety officer, one with Notts County over a dodgy throw in, one with Barnet because one fan went on their forum saying we were massive, one with Stockport because of Jim Gannon have I missed Any?

You draw at Leatherhead in a pre-season friendly. Which, tin-pot as it sounds, is better than being runners up in the Maureen Woolridge Memorial Cup.

Your aware I'm on a wind up, right?

Its a shit windup when you have to go around telling everyone that you're on the windup

'Hahah urban'll hate this windup, I'm such a lad, real funny'
...
'Nonono this wasn't how it was supposed to be... Guys. GUYS! IM JOKING OK! Please come back... Please love me...'

We've nothing to lose now in any case.

Err how about a play off spot?

There is massive pressure on your club to make the play offs and if you don't then you'll be a laughing stock.

You've used the exact attempt at windup for a year, lets not advise people on shit windups, "lad".

I informed it was a windup as I don't remotely think my club is massive.

Just remember, you don't see many Rovers fans posting in the "less than irrelevant lower midtable thread", time to try and move on buddy, getting worse than a spurned ex-girlfriend.

As long as there's room for Wycombe's visually stunning display if they get there

Sounds like Urbans getting to you :)
Why don't you just enjoy the attention while you are having a good season. Maybe you arent massive but you might be big enough to take a bit of light hearted ribbing from fans whose season is finished.
I'm still amazed that being called a big\massive club gets such a rise every time, if you don't get promoted I can guarantee there will be another 'Bristol Rovers are so big that.....' thread on our forum simply because we know some of you look at it and get all indignant.

It's ok to be jealous mate, don't make excuses in advance for your fellow supporters.

God how unlucky is he, out of ALL those Rovers fans out there he's the one who I've 'got to'

What are the odds?? :bdick:

About 1/100,000,000 but it's just a rough guess ;)

Thanks.
It's nice to know it's ok to be jealous of a club who had an open top bus tour to celebrate it's lowest league position since 1920.

Seriously though, I hope you get promotion as your long suffering fans deserve it.

Cheers mate, fingers crossed but I'm not so sure myself, cant see Accy dropping points personally. And fair play to them if they get it, nearly everyone wrote them off with their last 10 games.

I was actually hoping/expecting Barnet to push for the play offs at one point, you werr about 8 points off with 10 to go roughly. Its a shame, maybe we'll see you in this thread next year?

Well, apart from that bit, that bit is my absolute favourite :2thumb::2thumb::2thumb:

Thanks for rising to the bait today, it's been fun.

It's going to be a bloody tough one, every one keeps looking at the individual games that us (Exeter/Yeovil), Plymouth (Pompey), Stanley (Hartlepool/Wycombe) & Pompey (Plymouth/Wimbledon/Hartlepool) are going to slip up on and yet completely seem to overlook those games that fly under the radar. It worries me that everyone says we have the "easiest" run in, the toughest game on paper is Exeter but any could be a potential banana skin at the end. There is a high possibility that it could be as tight as goal difference in which Pompey have the advantage, but even to this date, Accrington still seem to be overlooked despite them doing exceptional all season.

Barnet fans don't even do it for banter, they mention our massiveness almost every time 'big clubs' are mentioned on their own forum, between all 10 of them.

Haha, and a bloody great open bus tour it was.

Bloody hell, this Barnet nonsense was boring last season, let alone this.

As for the POs, I agree with Wombles post I think. Whilst I'd obviously love to see us pip 3rd, 4th would still be an excellent achievement. Exeter or Wombles for the last spot, although I think Wombles have slightly more favourable fixtures, as well as the game in hand.

Yep, I think Wimbledon will make it. We've still got to play Northampton and Bristol Rovers which needless to say, are tough games. I reckon it will be 74 points to guarantee 7th spot so that would require winning 4 out of our last 5. Dropped points at home have cost us IMO. Think the top 7 will end up something like this:
1) Northampton
2) Oxford
3) Bristol Rovers
-------------------------
4) Accrington
5) Portsmouth
6) Plymouth
7) Wimbledon

Hmm I'm going with Accrington, Portsmouth, Wimbledon and Exeter. Think Plymouth may do a Rovers top at Xmas and not make the playoffs. Still better than Millwalls top a xmas relegated in may ......
