This is a 'MEH' season!!!

That seems to be the word being used to describe this forgettable season.

Not quite sure how we're still clinging onto automatic contention. We need 21 points from our remaining 27 and even then it might not be enough. I can see us dropping 3-4 points short at the end of the regular season.

Doncaster and Plymouth are gone for me now. Despite a substandard week, our arrears can be reduced to 3 again beating Newport on Tuesday. And then its game on again.

We haven't won more than 2 games in a row this season, that is appalling really and IMO Jones needs to take responsibility for that rather than repeating the familiar and tired "we haven't had a run yet" crap he keeps going on about like it's our right to have a run. It's really not realistic to think we are suddenly going to start now, especially as they are now pressure games another thing we are crap at. If we do go up I really think that speaks to the quality, or lack thereof this season.

Far more concerned about our ability to remain in the playoffs than looking at automatic promotion.

A few weeks ago we were in the top 3. Now we are on the verge of having to sign out of this thread.

It's now only a matter of time before we lose our top 7 status.

We are a disgrace.

Looks pretty clear cut for the top 2 and a race between Pompey/Stevenage for 3rd?

Maybe we should sack Keith Curle and get a new manager in because regardless of how shit he could end up being, he would at least get his honey moon period of something like 3 wins in row and that might be enough to help get us a play off place.

We've got the second youngest squad in the division though; its tough for such a young team to have the mental toughness to win week in week out in high pressured environments. Especially at the bullring that is Kenilworth Road. It seemed today a few of the players looked nervous and that they had a monkey on their back.

FGR sacked their manager a week before the National League play offs last season.
It nearly worked as they got to final, but then they got beat.... :ds:

I wouldn't call it forgettable... we were challenging right at the top end of the table until the new year and set a new club record for games without a defeat... more of a frustrating season.

And on Saturday you face an improving Crewe side who'll be going up there looking for three points as we push on towards the top half.

As it stands, Doncaster can be promoted next weekend.

That's a good looking league table from a Pompey perspective..

Top 3 are sealed now IMO. Everyone else... any guesses?

Luton now have 1 win in 9 games. Massively disappointing and a real fuck up.

Hats off to HG you correctly predicted this when the rest of us thought you were mad.

Sorry to say it but I cannot see any way you'll get back to playoffs this season.

The signs were there in late December/early January. We've gradually got worse ever since and there's absolutely no signs whatsoever that things are going to improve.

I doubt we'll even match last seasons 10th place 67 points finish.

This is where I switch off the notifications for this thread.

Hopefully we'll be back amongst it next season but I very much doubt it.
I can see a disastrous relegation season ahead for us unless some serious changes are made over the summer. Genuinely the worst CUFC team I've seen for years.

Look on the bright side you won't get relegated.

I think we all knew they would struggle to maintain the form they were in. Any team that conceeds as much as they do can't just rely on outscoring their opponent every game. I do have some sympathy though.

Carlisle's season can be summed up by their visit to us in January - looked very strong in the first half and still one of the best teams I've seen all season, but then got absolutely destroyed in the second half.

That was a strange game. Probably the worst defensive performance we've produced this season, yet I thought we were a real threat going forward.

Now we are shite at the back and have nothing going forward.
