Do Barnet count as my dark horse tip or not? Or does dark horse tip means currently in mid-table?

Thing is they're only one point off the play offs as it stands*, and Colchester are only two points off. So not really sure these two sides count as dark horses.

EDIT - *make that two points now.

Colchester were almost in the relegation places not that long ago, and have been largely ignored in this thread until I brought them up, so I think they count. The thing with dark horses is that they have to join the promotion race at some point otherwise they're just also-rans.

So 23 games done.

So frustrating that we sit in 5th having beaten 8 of the other 10 teams in the Top 11. Not the worst position to be in by any means, but what could've been...

I think we'll go up.

January should see us hold on amongst the top three. February and March look tough, we more or less play the current top 7 within a six week period. Come through that relatively unscathed and we're laughing.

Our final 8 games will be what see us go up. Yeah, alot can change between now and then but if you could choose a final 8 games to end the season with you wouldn't be far off what we have been given.

Exeter on the last day looks like a much taller prospect than it did a few weeks ago. Be interesting though if it has any bearing on Plymouth's season.

Yeah, we were 23rd after we lost at Yeovil in mid-November (having been 1-0 up with minutes to play) and in fact it was only your 97th minute winner or something against Exeter that kept us off being rock bottom. We were bottom on the live table at half-time in the next game at Cheltenham, but have now won five of the last six, drawing the other. 14 goals scored to just three against.

We switched to a 3-5-2/5-3-2 system after that last defeat which seems to have really suited us and it's been all systems go again. Wasn't expecting six points from these two away games over Christmas though so that's a huge bonus, as long as we now beat Cheltenham on Monday and aren't complacent. Confidence is a funny thing though as having been pulled back to 2-2 today we would usually have crumbled over the past few seasons, but towards the end we had just grown stronger and looked the more likely to edge back in front, as we did.

Could Bees fans explain how you could afford 140K for two players in the January sales announced today?

Aye, Cambridge too. Maybe the play-off final will end up being the CUFC-off to boot.

That looks rude, and it'd be bloody naughty, so why not!

Unbeaten in seven, six wins and five clean sheets now - I've been so used to losing every week for the past four years or so that I don't know how to deal with this.

I don't even consider your club as a promotion contender, Colchester are just too bog standard and guaranteed to fuck up.

Shut up man! We're playing them next. If we beat them by all means spout shit like this, but saying it a week before is setting yourself up to like a right ****.

Yeah exactly, and they're struggling a bit at the moment too with just the six wins and a draw in their last seven matches, or 19 pts out of a possible 21.

HG should be more positive I think.

I think the top 3 are probably guaranteed to at least make the playoff places. After that though, I think the league is still far too tight to make any serious predictions; any team with a bit of form can find their way into the playoffs.

Sold N'Gala and Togwell for £80k and there was probably some compensation paid by Eastleigh for Allen.

We have funds from various income streams at The Hive. Accounts last year showed c£850k profit.

Every team they have beat on that run are shite like playing Cheltenham twice and Notts County. Only decent team they beat was Luton.

A wise man once said that war was coming to these forums.

I think it just got here.
