Aussies looking in good nick in the test v India but our pace attack is a different kettle of fish.
You would have to bat longer than it takes to boil a kettle first, sweety.

124-3 at lunch. Was looking very easy for England to score but then Crawley gloving one just before the break has it about an even session I think.
And then the tail is exposed and Hazelwood wrapped it all up!

All in the pub early for some cold ones.

Now, say that but not in front of a mirror.

My mum was actually English.
Why would I say it in front of a mirror, you're fucking weird and your banter is wank.

Not sure who can say they’re on top at tea but it’s been fun to watch. Credit to England for backing up what they said they’d do with entertaining despite the Aussies attempting some negative field placings.

We now know the answer to can England chug along at the rate they have been against the Aussies. All set up for a great evening session.

I guess, trying to explain it to a thick English gobshite would be difficult.

At least one of of knows where the G spot is..... You could ask mother!

I think we will have a better idea of where the series can go if Australia out bat England.

Absolutely brilliant knock from Root. Looked in total control all the way to a hundred. The thought of it would be ridiculous in normal times but I wouldn’t put it past Stokes to declare and give the Aussies a rough 15 minutes until the close.

And there we have it he’s actually declared

Say this for Stokes, he’ll never die wondering.

Didn’t get the wicket to top the day off but that has been absolutely brilliant entertainment. The nations productivity at work is going to hit rock bottom for the next six weeks or so if this is anything to go by. Edgbaston always delivers.

Mentioned by Nasser at the end the total runs today equal what we got on the opening day of the Edgbaston test in 2005.

Enthralling days cricket, got to hope Jimmy can get abit out of the pitch tomorrow. We at least proved that our tactics remain the same regardless of opposition and didn't allow ourselves to be overawed by the Aussie attack.

Lyon went for 5 and over despite picking up 4 fer, he is such an unlikeable fucker though, surprised he didn't celebrate the Brook wicket more.

Feel folks who bought for day 5 across the series will be getting refunds.

Caitlyn, this could be one seriously epic series on par with 2005.

Maybe they think it's going to rain later on the test so wanted to move the game on..

A worry Lyon has already got 4 wickets with his spin even if one was very lucky?

Honestly I just think moving the game on is Englands way now and I can see the logic behind declaring to be honest. It’s just more something you’d see commentators theorising over than actually being done.

Lyon if you look at his wickets one was a fluke, two were just people marching down the track and missing it and the other was probably a shot Pope wanted to play straighter to. In summary I’d say it was a product of the shots being played than him spinning it.

Brook's last 3 dismissals have been very unfortunate iirc.

Been a high class performance with the ball from all the England bowlers. Maintained pressure throughout the session on Australia. Just starting to see it offer something for Moeen as well.

Great credit to the umpire getting that LBW call on Smith spot on. I have to admit I thought height would be a problem especially how he reviewed instantly but ultimately he was absolutely right.

I don't think we realised how deep Smith was in his crease for it.

Credit where it’s due to Khawaja it’s been a very good innings from him. I know if Australia get a lead tomorrow some critics will use 20-20 hindsight and criticise the declaration but I’d say if Broad hadn’t bowled a no-ball when he knocked Khawaja’s stumps over we could be talking about a very large first innings lead.

Free speech is a virtue...
Ok.

England won’t win .

;)

Good play by the Aussies but we did let them off the hook at times .

Sounds like rain might be the big winner tomorrow.

Good fight back by the bowlers this morning and we have a slender first innings lead. Interesting tactics going short at the Aussie tail and they didn’t seem to fancy it, that will be a theme especially when Wood etc get a go in this series.

Love this field setting by Stokes to throw off Khawaja. This is really where his captaincy shines through. Think Ollie will probably lose a bit of his match fee for the “fuck off” after bowling him though
