always keep the faith. If we lose this from this position we might as well give up ODI's
Wouldn't surprise me looking at our bowling attack - but then again, I didn't think we'd get near 400 looking at our batting line-up either.

And to think Buttler was being wasted down at number 8.

Brilliant approach and a breath of fresh air.

Can we just play New Zealand every year?!

408-9. Absolutely incredible.

Incredibly enjoyable to watch, ODI Cricket being played in the right manner.

Those of little faith.....

Hope you are amazed
Glad to be proved wrong of course.

No-one could envisage a partnership like that coming - it was incredible.

That was bloody fun to watch.

Only England could lose this from here. We can't... can we?

1st time over 400 - cracking effort.

Particularly from Root and Buttler.

Anyway, if we're going back to this quoting old posts malarkey, where is Saddlerrad who calls for ODI's to be scrapped?!

;)

Amazing to watch. Plunkett at 10 is a bloody strong line up. Buttler, Root magnificent, Rashid also very good. Very encouraging

Finn knocks back McCullum's off stump.

Perfect start that.

I'd still scrap as much ODI cricket as we have, even if we score 450 six innings in a row ;).

Typical. I haven't missed a single England innings entirely for about 6-7 years. Today I went to work at 1, came back at 6. Just enough time to miss the entire bloody thing, the only time we bother to post a decent, entertaining score.

Big scores for Buttler and Root, probably our most exciting ODI players alongside Hales. I mean we obviously aren't going to score this amount frequently, but just the intent and a proper attempt to score more than 250 will go down well. How many times did we creep to 240 with Trott making a ton and then get spanked inside 40 overs. If NZ win this, fair play. ODI is about entertainment, not being particularly good.

Rashid gets Williamson who was on 45.

Great win that and some positive points all round. Problem is, you can almost guarantee that will be by far the best of the 5 performances. Hope not, but we can't get much better than that! Good day for Root, Buttler, Rashid and Finn.

Even as a Kent fan, Billings isn't for this side

Ayo, plenty of us out tonight to celebrate our 400. Hopefully we kick on and go on as we've started. I love this positive cricket but we NEED to stop relying on Root

Oh and for the first time in 3 years I'll say it, Root > Williamson & Kholi

Root deals with pressure so much better. Will be the best batsman in the world soon

I haven't seen much of Billings to be honest - what is he all about? What's his game etc? What will he bring?
