Yeah, he's an exceptionally good cricketer - I think England's struggles over the last 18-24 months have meant he doesn't quite get the accolades he deserves because all the focus is on the team under-performing and the dire coaching. His statistics and the style and consistency in which he's produced them, and situation most of the time given the fact he's been behind such a shite top order, point towards him being a really special player.

I'd like to think this is a new positive England but I think it's more them knowing they need a massive score to stand any chance because the bowling options are shite and this New Zealand side are capable of hitting just about anything 350+

These two need to stay in and hit big if we're to have a chance of winning, as our bowling attack is gash.

Root's got away with a few here, the edge to bring up his 50, and that one just dropping short on the boundary, but I'm enjoying the attacking intent in which the Cricket is being played.

Fast platforms are being laid for the likes of Buttler to come in and just explode.

Loving this new style of Cricket already. It's very high risk, but when it comes off it's an absolute joy to watch.

It's being played with a completely different intent from the way we approached the World Cup, and all the previous ODI's before that, and it's incredibly refreshing to see.

Bit early to make rash statements, but they've learnt from their mistakes in the way they've approached ODI games in the past so it seems.
