Oh and a 5 last week.
That's a rotten run , I've had to drop down to second and sometimes thirds cricket . I like to think it's because I can't commit to so many matches but really I'm just getting old and a bit shit !!

Trouble is the team I play for is a tiny village club and they only have 2 teams and one is in the Premier League and the other is in Division 6 (bottom league) and I open the batting when I play for the 2nds but bat at 9-10 for the 1sts. Really frustrating because it's totally shite quality in the bottom division but I don't usually play for them.

Stokes really isn't a good bowler at this stage in his career. Worth his place in the team for his batting but he's a 5th/6th choice bowler and not a first change bowler who is going to bowl his overs out every innings.

Mark Wood looks a really good bowler. Best we've had in a while in terms of someone who looks like they can be the third seamer behind Broad and Anderson and keep pressure on batsmen after the opening spell.

He's looking good isn't he ? I'd be happy with an attack of broad , Anderson , wood and stokes with rashid as the spinner . I was skeptical of wood at first , but he is really impressive .

Not convinced by Rashid at all but that's entirely not his fault because they should've given him a go against the Windies

This is indescribably bad from Rashid. I've never seen a spinner less likely to take a wicket

Your being harsh on rashid , he's bowling leg spin against two of the best one day players in the world . He needs work , but I can see a bowler in there .

Doesn't get enough turn for me and his pace was odd, too slow considering he wasn't getting any turn.

Willey seems another off the line of big strong lad who can bat a bit and is therefore an ideal ODI player but doesn't seem a rounded enough bowler to be playing international cricket. Would've liked to see Craig Overton get a go, seen him a couple of times and he's looked superb

Yeah, Rashid's going to throw all this good work away.

Just shows you this how important support is. Wood and Finn were superb but Willey, Rashid and Stokes have been rotten. Rashid in particular, atrocious.

Strange saying it, but I don't think 349-7 is massive on this wicket. It's Rashid's over away from par IMO. We will probably be 220 all out now, but I think we can give this a huge go. Fancy a 75+ from Hales on home turf. Roy could do with some runs.

We can't rely on Root and Buttler every game.

Terrible decision making from Morgan and and some terrible bowling...again. Huge ask now.

I wonder if Roy may turn out to be a bit similar to others in times gone by...looks great in the county scene but has something in his technique exposed against world class opening bowlers. He may go on to get some runs, but you would say that's something that needs working on for future reference.

We've got mccullum worried , he's having to bowl southee longer than he would like . Hales looks right in the mood for this .

Not the worst power play....

Only been home from work for half hour so not sure what a good score is.
Hales gone. Charges Henry and bottom edges on. great innings though. done his job.

I get the feeling Root is going to score small here.

I don't see a particularly special player in Roy, some real technical issues when the ball is swinging and doesn't play anything straight particularly well (short or full), not a great timer of the ball either, just seems to get by because he's got enough strength and aggression to clatter bad bowling.

Still young obviously though but needs far more technical work than the rest of these young England batsmen

Root goes to 50. One thing about Joe Root that makes him different to the rest of the order...he actually accumulates his runs so seamlessly. He just drifts through to 50 with consumate ease so frequently.
