Unlucky today, had a good goal chalked off for offside, hit the woodwork twice, a draw would have been fair and certainly we can hold our heads high

Took a while to break through and we missed a couple of glaring chances but nice to get into the mix for a big draw. All set up for Morecambe away.

Some of our lot looked like they were running through treacle today compared to Oxford who are rapido. Rodrigues did a wobbler and got booked just before half time and then subbed off in the interval @Nottsfans  We had chances to equalise in a period of being on top and then Oxford score a second to kill the game with their first attack of the second half. Still we played some okay football and almost held our own against a better side.

Two tough trips down in the Home Counties (if Oxfordshire is counted as that?) for Artell to start with and we've done well in general. Looking forward to seeing what we're capable of at home with a full week's training put in.

Ruben always had a wobble in him as well as plenty in his locker.

Nice to see him reach the 3rd round, something we never came close to giving him. Although I'm sure Wembley made up for that.

It's the ref's call but he would no doubt have had some pressure in his ear from the television to try and keep it on if it's at all possible.
Yes guess so.

Tie is on Tuesday and still on the BBC in some form apparently.

*concentrating on the league.

the 2nd Maidstone goal was the 1st time they got in our half in about 20mins
So what?
Goals win games.
Well done Maidstone.

The game should have been called off earlier, I think that is clear.
I think Alfreton just really wanted it on, it was their big day and the TV money is no doubt huge to them (not insignificant to us) It sounds a bit like they tried to bluff it as far as they could get by keep saying it would be on.
It shouldn’t have got to 5 minutes before kick off before calling it off. It’s happened now so not much we can do. It could become an even bigger game if we pull someone good in the draw.

Some players avoid celebrating when they score against their old side. Macauley Bonne seemingly not one of those players.
Gillingham looking impressive.

bit disrespectful to Maidstone, who do Barrow think they are?
On the topic of taking their FA Cup exit badly, the 'even Bonne scored' made me chuckle. I wasn't really aware of the beef between the 2 clubs until yesterday, although the TV commentary suggested it may be more from Gillingham than Charlton. Amongst other things, apparently Charlton used to lay on free buses to their matches from Gillingham, which the latter took badly.

Got to beat Yeovil now, good draw although would have preferred to be at the Racecourse. Nice to get reacquainted with our farming cousins.

The other Forest away for us, if we a) don't get kicked out and b) beat Blackpool. Safe to say it's probably a bit early to book time off.

Norwich away, I looked at Peterborough away as the worst case possible, this pushes it close. Little chance of winning, miles away and not likely to make much money.

Bristol Rovers you're welcome to it.

IF we beat Ramsgate, Ipswich at home. They could possibly field a weakened team as they're pushing for promotion to the Prem.

It was around the time we had financial issues and were struggling to stay afloat basically.
Charlton were in the Prem but couldn’t fill their stadium because they are fucking tinpot.
They were giving subsidised tickets and coach travel to people in Kent and Medway, picking fans up from near the stadium.
Basically trying to put us out of business completely.
Classless, shit club.

Decent ground that the fans haven't been to since 2005, they are shite this season, they'll probably rotate. Relatively decent chance of an upset, no pressure on us should to perform or get a result. You realise draws like Stevenage/Port Vale, Gillingham, Oxford, Plymouth and Sutton were possibilities right?

They got 20k fans at £10 a ticket for their 3rd round game with Blackburn FA Cup game last season, if they drop them to a similar level and get even half that number, we'll make about £40k-£45k. Hardly a terrible outcome.

Yes, it's not a big PL team, but given our draw luck for the last 20 years, I'll take it.

The difference between our first-choice and second-choice midfielders is like night and day. This lot might as well not be there, they're that easily bypassed.

I once had a meeting with Charlton Athletic. Can't remember who it was with. The Managing Director in the early 2000s. I don't think it was Richard Murray, the Chairman at the time, but it was a long time ago. It was to do with the business, not the football side of things, but I remember being a bit surprised at the way he spoke (to his colleagues, but openly in front of us, people he should have been impressing) about the players, that they were a bunch of idiots that wouldn't be able to put a sentence together. The thing is, I understand that some players don't put a great emphasis on academic studies, but their 'job' involves spatial awareness and being able to think quickly. Maybe not all of them, but I talk to a few footballers, and I'd rather spend time with them than whatever smug twat it was that we met with, and I'd definitely have preferred to work with them, which is why I never bothered with a follow up meeting with smug twat.
My point is that I know I let the forum down by not insulting every other club and set of fans, but i can fully get on board with contempt for Charlton, even though this was a long time ago.

Always nice after being knocked out of the cup when the team that beat you get an absolutely shite draw.
Coventry away, you’re welcome to it Oxford.

Worst case scenario imo is drawing a team with near unlimited resources that you've seen play recently.

3-0 win for us, picking first choice team meant this was always going to be an easy enough day for us. Second gear for the whole game really.

Bring on Shrewsbury.

Pretty comfortable game in freezing temperatures, for all Adam Virgo talking Yeovil up.

Onto Slops.

Pretty boring game really, didn't have to get put of 2nd gear. Rather pleased had a big prem team away but Shrews will do

Terrible draw. Guess we got favourable 1st and 2nd round ones so swings and roundabouts.

Thought we were destined for Luton away when they were reading the away team's number out. What a shocker that would've been.

Conversely, the next 2 names out were Arsenal and Liverpool...

Yeovil absolutely garbage, didn't seem fired up at all.

I expected better from them tbh, I know they're lower down but they don't look any better than last season. If they go up I expect a swift return to the NLS.

London matches will have to be spread over the weekend so as not to swamp the Met. Nine teams definitely hosting plus potentially us and Barnet.

A Wimbledon supporting acquaintence is a sergeant in Hammersmith & Fulham which hosts three matches. I've yet learn what he says on the subject.
