Bridge of Spies - 8/10 - I enjoyed it

The Nice Guys - 9/10 - I enjoyed this more

Marauders - 4/10 - I did not enjoy this.

The Legend of Tarzan - 5/10 - Margot Robbie and a 9 figure CGI budget and someone still managed to make it tedious. An impressive feat.

Clown - 6/10 - I thought it was OK.

The Funhouse Massacre - 7/10 - I preferred this film, decent modern horror film.

Into The Blue - 8/10 - I've watched this film a few times now, still enjoy it.

The Night Before - 7/10 - Fairly enjoyable, some funny scenes.

Whiplash. So good. Perfectly paced, it neither dragged nor did it feel rushed.

Jurassic World.

What a crock of shite. The disaster happens way too soon and it's just constant action there after with no apparent storyline. Too much CGI too.

Two Night Stand
I liked it, but not the ending. 6/10.

Shawshank Redemption
Excellent, can see why everyone raves about it. 9/10.

Ted 2.
Managed 25 minutes before I turned it off, just couldn't be arsed with it which is a shame given I like the original.

Land of Mine (2015)
Danish WWII drama. After the liberation of Denmark in May 1945 thousands of German PoW's are forced to clear the over 2 million landmines on Danish beaches by hand and with no metal detecting equipment. This film follows a group consisting of boys little more than children forced to clear one of the beaches under the guidance of an embittered Danish sergeant. An interesting and tense film about a subject I knew nothing about beforehand. 8/10

Independence Day Resurgence

My expectations were just too high for this. I'm not sure if it was good, but didn't fulfill my expectation....or if it was just shit. I came out very disappointed.

Ghostbusters

Pleasantly surprised. The trailer looked shit, but shit it was not. The Stay Puft balloon ghost was awesome too.

The Purge: Election Year

A little more stupid than the first two. Still great to watch though.

So Ghostbusters is worth seeing then?

Your Independence Day thoughts seem to pretty much echo my own... in fact, I'm still not sure whether I was just disappointed, or just thought that it was shit and I saw it day one.

To be fair though it's hard to tell off of a trailer anyway. The Ghostbusters trailers are awful, but the film is apparently not all that bad. Likewise, the Battle: Los Angeles trailer was fucking superb but the film is probably the worst movie I've ever seen in a cinema.

Yes. Go see it, Oafster!

I also saw ID on day one. Had to be done, after waiting 20 years for the bastard thing!

Battle For The Skies (2013)
Decent film about a South African who volunteers for The RAF in WWII who after serving 4 years his bomber is shot down over Germany and he and his crew try to make it home. Some of the acting wasn't the best but the battles in the air were really well done. 7/10.

Hostel.

It's the kind of film I loved when I was younger but it's not great, is it? It has so much potential. They should have explored more around what drives people to pay to do those things rather than make it a survival horror.

Rebirth
Bit daft with an obvious message. It's all about 'awakening' from a mundane life instead for just wake up, go to work, go home, sleep, wake up, go to work, go home, modern day slavery bla bla bla.

It was ok at best, worth a go for something that makes little sense until Eddie from Friends explains it all. 6/10.

I wasn't a big fan of the first film, but this one was even worse.

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me

Not as good as I had hoped following the series (it could never have been) but still excellent.
