Shock Waves (1977)

A group of travelers becomes shipwrecked on a seemingly uninhabited island. They soon run into an old German commander who tells them that the island is plagued by an old "death corps", an experimental Nazi unit comprised of the reanimated corpses of violent criminals.

Not bad - a zombie film that doesn't rely on gore. It was hard not to chuckle at the gang of Nazi zombies (in full SS uniform) popping up from beneath the waves, though.

A police officer chases two "hippies" around the English countryside believing them to be guilty of murders actually committed by...ZOMBIES!

Spanish/Italian co-production set in the picturesque English countryside with hippies, anti-pesticide/pollution messages and no-nonsense coppers.

Dunkirk is one of the most intense 100 minutes I've ever watched on screen. You get dropped into the situation, and it just rolls on at a constant pace for the entire duration. It's some accomplishment. Similar in tone, but very different in style to the likes of Saving Private Ryan and Band Of Brother.

Agree 100% Benji, I would have loved to have had my fitbit on to see my heart rate throughout. An absolute rollercoaster of a film, one of the best I've seen that has you gripped and there's no chance you can go to the toilet, I don't think there's a suitable point in the film. Soundtrack was immense too. I love a good war film but this is next level, just wow.

10/10. Will go see it again if any of my work colleagues are going this week!

A young woman's search for her father leads her to a zombie-infested island. Also, a zombie fights a shark.

I didn't think much of this one, it was merely OK.

A comet wipes out most of the life on earth. A small number of survivors, including two teenage girls and a love interest, find themselves fighting a horde of zombies and, later, some dodgy scientists.

Strange film. It started interestingly with the abrupt results of the comet but basically turned into an almost standard teen comedy type of film afterwards, with the twist of zombies and evil scientists being added to the mix. It didn't really work, but there was some fun along the way.

Force Majeure- 7/10. Swedish drama about a father who shits himself when there is an "avalanche". Good film but loses points for an ambiguous ending. I like an ambiguous ending but only in some contexts.

Haha "It doesn't really work, but there is some fun along the way" should definitely be the tagline to this film. Watched it a few months back. Did like the two sisters.

Das Experiment- German film which explores the ramifications of a normal group of people gaining power as prison guards in a role play situation. The other group are the prisoners. It's hard hitting and gripping.- 8/10

Dellamorte Dellamore (Cemetery Man) (1994)

A film about the owner of a graveyard which causes the bodies buried within it to come back to life within a week.

Good, silly fun but a little too Tim Burtony for my tastes. The scene in the hospital had me laughing pretty loudly.
