Don't know if it's been mentioned or not, but Bridge of spies (2015) is definitely worth viewing, it's based on the true account of the negotiations between Russia, East Germany and America for the release (exchange) of Gary Powers, detained in Russia, and a Russian spy held in America, also an American student who crossed over to East Germany just before the wall was complete.

It's hilarious, let's be honest. 8/10.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle
Not quite as good as the first one but still loads of fun. Elton John's cameo was absolutely superb. 7.5/10.

Girlhood- 6/10- Average coming of age film about a Parisian teenager who joins an all girl gang. Dragged a bit too much for my liking.

Went to watch The Disaster Artist. Plans with friends broke down so I went to the cinema on my lonesome for the first time, it was very good. I might never watch a film with friends or partners ever again. The film is brilliant and hilarious, James Franco is spot on with his Tommy Wisseau and it's a bizarre and fascinating story. Dave Franco never seems to be acting, but it didn't take much away from the movie.

Blue Velvet- 7/10. Not the masterpiece some people say it is but still very good. Quite like David Lynch. Dennis Hopper was superb.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Colossal - 8/10.

Weird little film where Anne Hathaway randomly discovers that she is inadvertently controlling a giant monster that is attacking Seoul every night.

Agreed. It's an interesting and atmospheric film, but not without its flaws; like most of Lynch's stuff.

Paddington 2.

Thoroughly enjoyable family film with Hugh Bonneville in the main lead - still 2nd to Paddington though - I'd recommend making a few marmalade sandwiches and sit down with the family to watch this.

I love the film with one of my fav actors John Mills it's a true classic. In the new film the beach is almost empty but there were well over 3,00,000 men waiting to be rescued. I was looking forward to watching the new one but it goes all over the place, the only good scenes were the battles in the air between the Spitfires and ME 109's. I've not seen one good review of it by others who watched it at the cinema i was lucky to borrow the dvd off a mate had i paid to watch it i would have walked out within the first 45 minutes it was that bad.

It's a cinematic masterpiece.

Just don't go in expecting some sort of action movie.

If I had any complaint it would be that Nolan focused too much on terror and panic without enough of a nod to professionalism and valour.

What utter bollocks! Over 300.000 men gathered on the beach to get rescued yet the film showed the beach as empty except for single files of men who were desperate to get home. You would see more holidaymakers today sunning themselves on the beach than this shit film showed on the beach. Nolan's version of an important part of our history should be either ignored or binned it's that bad. Try talking to someone who was there like i have that i drink with every Sunday lunchtime you'll change your view of a crock of shit that Dunkirk is.

You'd probably be surprised by how little the production crew's inability to get hundreds of thousands of extras factored into my appraisal of the film. In my opinion it's actually quite an odd reason to dismiss it, especially while lauding the 1958 depiction that didn't convey the scale of the operation either, not that I think either did an especially terrible job.

The Greatest Showman
This was a lovely and uplifting movie, just what one needs to begin the miserable month of January. Relies on a lot of the usual musical tropes, but is very stylish and full of positivity which are the things which will stay with me.

I thought it was decent, didn't really understand why the critics went after it so hard. Already had a sequel green-lit too.

Another Mother's Son (2017)
Not a bad film it's based on a true story about a widow living in Jersey during WWII who hides an escaped Russian POW from the Germans. 6.8/10.

Hacksaw Ridge released last year was the best film i've seen since Saving Private Ryan.

It's not a true story, the Coen brothers just put that in for dramatic license. As for the German influence that wouldn't surprise me tbh as the German immigrants built houses and communities all over rural America.
