A mystery/thriller part horror film involving 5 friends who get murdered at sea but don't Really die, if any of you film buffs have seen this movie I would appreciate it if one of you would kindly explain the plot as I didn't have a clue.

Exactly my thoughts when i watched this movie what the hell is going on. Ultimately the film doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and the real mystery is how a film like this ever got made. I couldn't make heads or tails of this film.
I thought it was great...
Arguably, the most important part of the film is the bit when the first bunch of friends get on the big ship and they're wandering around the corridors below the deck and they stumble upon a picture of the ship from way back in the day and they discuss the name of it, which is the same as a Greek god or something and one of the group says that this god tried to cheat death and had to eternally carry a rock up and down a mountain as punishment. This is important because it's foretelling the situation of the main character. Remember the scene at the end, when she crashes her car and kills her son? She gets out the car and nobody really notices her and she walks off? That's because she died in the crash. The only person that notices her is that taxi driver, right? Who she promises she'll come back to? That taxi driver is some form of death/grim reaper figure and by walking away from him and getting on the yacht at the end, she's essentially trying to cheat death by not going back to him as promised. Hence, she is locked in some kind of impossible time loop in which she has to kill her friends to try and survive and no matter how many times she does it, she won't be able to bring her son or herself back back because she's already dead.
...it's actually a really ambitious stab at a time loop horror film, in my opinion. It probably has a fair few plot holes but I'll end up watching it again now that I know from the start what is going on.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
I liked the first two movies of Hotel Transylvania. I thought they were pretty good when i watched them with the grandaughter. Other than not that great, the main thing is did the kid enjoy the movie.

Yeah, we went with her and her cousin and they both enjoyed it.

It was no Incredible's 2 or Teen Titans Go, mind. I think Wreck it Ralph 2 is going to be next up.

Final Destination (2000)
Final Destination 2 (2003)
Final Destination 3 (2006)
The Final Destination (2009)
Final Destination 5 (2011)

Been watching this franchise over the last few days, I really enjoyed the Final Destination series, I thought the 5th one was the best. And the first one was a satisfactory movie.

I think the second and third were banking on that late 90s/00s hot teen horror stuff that Scream and 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' paved the way for. But still pretty decent to watch.

The only weak link is The Final Destination, which is cheapened by the poor special effects.

I loved the twist at the end of the last one.

座頭市物語 (The Tale of Zatoichi) (1962)

The adventures of a blind masseuse that is also an expert swordsman.

Excellent - particularly Shintarô Katsu's portrayal of Ichi, the blind swordsman.

9/10

ポルノ時代劇 忘八武士道 (Bohachi Bushido: Code of the Forgotten Eight) (1973)

A ronin joins a clan of immoral misogynists and helps them to take over the local prostitution industry.

This one had its moments, but it was a bit silly and was basically a soft-porn film for half of the time.

You going to watch all 21 Zatoichi films? :D

I love the character, and Shintaro Katsu gave heart, warmth and comedy to him so well. He was an excellent singer as well, in the later ones he performs a lot of the music for it. Really need to get back into the tv series with him too but they are hard to find. Anyway glad you enjoyed the first film.

Smoking Guns (2016) 7/10

Fantastic film with a great cast, most of the action takes place in the local bookies. The film feels very much like a throwback to the 90s era of laddism, it's ultimately a very entertaining movie with some great performances from everybody involved. Funny, violent and true, also heartbreaking and steeped in reality. Starring Tommy O'Neill, Jamie Crew, Andreas Karras and Dexter Fletcher.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle (2017) 7/10

I'm not a particular huge fan of Dwayne Johnson, but for me this is a comedy that is a winner. The real fun is to be had from the interplay between the cast, especially with Karen Gillan she was awesome. I'd say with its smart casting and lively action sequences, this version of the game is an overall upgrade. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Nick Jonas.

The people under the stairs (1991)

The People Under the Stairs is the story of a young boy (Fool) from the ghetto and takes place on his 13th birthday. In an attempted burglary (along with two others) of the home of his family's evil landlords, he becomes trapped inside their large suburban house and discovers the secret of the "children" that the insane brother and sister have been "rearing" under the stairs.

I watched it on the Horror channel last night and it was excellent. It's the best film i've seen in a long while. 9/10

用心棒 (Yojimbo) (1961)

A ronin arrives in a town separated by two warring tribes and manipulates each side to his advantage, making sure to keep those he likes safe in the process.

Great film. Toshirô Mifune and Tatsuya Nakadai were both brilliant.

Powerful use of music and, as is typical for Kurosawa, the film looks great.

椿三十郎 (Sanjuro) (1962)

The main character from Yojimbo returns and is just as crafty and cool as ever.

Perhaps not as pleasing or interesting to the eye as Yojimbo but another excellent film - with a fair amount of comedy thrown in.

Wasn't that fond of the first Yojimbo film, but there is another film where Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo where the two titans of Katsu and Mifune do battle, and you may want to look out if you like both characters.

It was utter shite mate. I went to the pictures to see it, and from the opening shot with the burd over Hanks bed, I knew what the plot twist was going to be! Even my latest crush, the magnificent Sidse Babette-Knudssen couldn't save it, though all I did when she was on, was melt!

It was laughably entertaining pish though, not like some other big pics that half missed the mark completely (Indiana Jones.... skull thing I'm looking at you).

Hereditary (2018) 3/10

This was a strange film if ever their was one. I thought the ending was weird and a sort of ending that was thought of at the last minute. I tried to enjoy the film but it was very unsatisfying and disappointing. Starring Toni Collette, Milly Shapiro, Alex Wolff and Gabriel Byrne.

Avengers Grimm: Time Wars (2018) 1/10

If you don't like the other titles in this franchise this one won't change your mind. Some of the dialogue is well and truly pretty cheesy, the effects are patently obvious. A low budget movie with a few issues. Starring Lauren Parkinson, Christina Licciardi, Elizabeth Eileen and Marah Fairclough.

The Nun 5/10

Been looking forward to this and it was disappointing. The first half was well paced, racked with tension and intrigue. The filmmakers weren't giving you too many glimpses of the Nun which was great. Then about halfway through it introduced one of the most ridiculous plots involving the blood of Jesus Christ. I won't say any more to avoid spoiling but I started laughing in the cinema at it. The 2nd half of the film was terrible. It felt like a parody at times and they kept doing close ups of the Nun which took all the horror of the character away. If the whole film had been like the first half, it would have been a good Conjuring spin off. The 2nd half ruined it, although the last 30 seconds showing how it ties in with the other Conjuring films was a nice touch.

Avengers Infinity War (2018) 9/10

Breathtaking movie, probably a sense of relief from the powers of above that it proved to be a really good film. The story is energetic, the humor is spot on and the action is fantastic with some great epic superhero moments, directing duo Anthony and Joe Russo have hit the jackpot with this one. Starring Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson.

Top Dog (2014) 1/10

Top dog more like dog shit. It's absolute pants. Starring Leo Gregory, Dannielle Brent and Ricci Harnett.

全职杀手 (Fulltime Killer) (2001)

This one represents a temporary movement away from samurai films - a work colleague found out that I am watching Japanese films and lent me some vaguely related (and some completely unrelated) dvds.

This was a pretty standard Hong Kongese action film featuring two hitmen with differing styles. The film builds until their inevitable confrontation where one is victorious.

蜘蛛巣城 (Throne of Blood) (1957)

Kurosawa and Mifune team up again in this film based on Macbeth. A spirit tells two generals of a prophecy involving their rapid promotion up the ranks and into positions of power. They laugh it of until it begins to happen just as she predicted it would. The power, of course, brings its own problems and this is the crux of the film.

This one is regarded as an all-time classic and, while I did enjoy it very much, I don't quite rank it up with some of the best in the genre that I have seen thus far. The final arrow scene was bafflingly good, though - technically, logistically and emotionally.

Just back from the pictures wi the missus. Saw 'Equalizer 2' starring Denzel Washington (great actor imo). If you like an action film that doesn't go over the top then you'll enjoy this one. I think it was based on the character Robert McCall played by Edward Woodward in the tv series The Equalizer from the 80's I think. Thoroughly enjoyed it...10/10 for me.

Must admit, this film really impressed me. I feared the worst by them remaking a classic but they made it really relevant to today and made it really quite different from the original whilst staying true to it.

Very funny movie that I would recommend. And I also fallen in love with Madison Iseman.

I see The Purge is now a (TV series). The ten-episode series premiered on September 4th.

Is it any good? I enjoy these films but not sure I like them enough to watch a series on it.

Remember the theme tune of the Equalizer? And Woodward looking hard as nails on the intro? :D

I loved these cheesy 80's shows, not enough cheese around these days on telly.
