Must admit, this film really impressed me. I feared the worst by them remaking a classic but they made it really relevant to today and made it really quite different from the original whilst staying true to it.

Very funny movie that I would recommend. And I also fallen in love with Madison Iseman.



Is it any good? I enjoy these films but not sure I like them enough to watch a series on it.

Yeah i must admit i was very impressed with Jumanji: As i say i'm not a massive Dwayne Johnson movie fan of his but he surpassed all expectations with his comical role he played. Yeah she's definitely one for the future is Madison Iseman.

I'm not sure? I'm in two minds whether to wait until season one is finished of The Purge.
And then maybe binge-watch the series? Apparently It's a 10-hour event series in which season two isn't confirmed and nothing is set in stone at this point, but the original idea is that The Purge will function as an anthology series and any subsequent seasons would travel to different cities, focusing on different characters.

A young man is away fighting, leaving his mother and wife at home alone. To make ends meet they kill travelling samurai and sell the belongings they manage to steal from them. Also they chuck them down a massive hole.

Beautiful setting and brilliantly shot in black and white. Unlike the previous samurai films I've watched, this one has one foot firmly in the horror category and it works really well. For fans of Japanese breasts, Salty, I'd recommend this one.

Only The Brave (2017)
A very good film with Josh Brolin and Jeff Bridges,it's based on the true story of The Granite Mountain Hotshots an elite firefighting team that tackle forest fires across The US,it started off a bit slow but got better as the film went on and the last 30 minutes were superb. 8.5/10.

An American comedy movie that really just can't make you laugh, unless your smoking pot. It's probably like dragging your fingernails across a blackboard. Very poor! Starring Steve Lemme, Jay Chandrasekhar, Paul Stoter and Erik Stolhanske.

I had to watch the first one in order to watch this one if that makes any sense, in which i should have known better having watched the first piece of garbage. And this one was excruciating from start to finish, comes with a warning do not watch.

Blade Runner (1982) 8/10

I can't believe i never got round to watching this film years ago, after watching it, I'd definitely say that this film is an absolute masterpiece. Special effects are really good for a very old film, great acting and a great soundtrack by electronic composer Vangelis. It's a solid film worth watching especially if you're a cyberpunk fan. Starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young and Daryl Hannah.

Blade Runner 2049 (2017) 9/10

After watching the original Blade Runner i had to watch this one, despite the length of the film, the movie grabbed me from beginning to end. It's a pretty decent sequel, and quite possibly the most visually stunning movie I've ever seen. I think the story is much better than the original with Gosling outstanding in his role as Agent K. He absolutely owned it. Starring Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Jared Leto, Ana de Armas and Robin Wright.

So they say, a bit of a more of a-miss-than-hit affair. It took nearly two decades to wait for the long awaited disappointment sequel Super Troopers 2, and that was like watching paint dry.

Super Troopers 3: Winter Soldiers is to go ahead

I haven't watched Hot Wet American Summer, at least it has better reviews with being described as a comic gem.

I'm not sure whether the reported $250 million production budget gives a good reason that the movie was a classic, nevertheless, i quite enjoyed the film it was charming and fun enough and will definitely delight the sci-fi geeks most of all, based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs novel The Princess of Mars, Kitsch fills the action-hero bill, also keep an eye out for the lagoon-blue eyes of Lynn Collins. Starring Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Dominic West and Mark Strong.

What a great movie in which it's pretty trippy with twists and turns that you wouldn't be sure which way to look. Hawke is absolutely brilliant! As the heart of the story, however, Sarah Snook delivers a knockout performance. Like all time-travel stories Predestination deserves a bit of respect for what it tries to achieve, either way, you won't be disappointed. Starring Ethan Hawke, Sarah Snook and Noah Taylor.

Absolutely loved it, a proper head-scratcher at times. I can see why Sarah Snook got cast in HBO's Succession. She pulls of her performance brilliantly throughout.

Black 47 ,set in 1847 in the midst of the Irish famine ,its premise being based on a returning Irishman who was shunned by his peers for his acceptance of the Kings shilling and on his return he finds his homeland and his kin are barely recognizable under the British.

A tale of revenge ,stolen completely and unashamedly by the indomitable Stephen Rea.

Annabelle Creation (2017) 6/10

A pleasant surprise, not a bad movie, a good performance from Talitha Bateman as the possessed polio-afflicted orphan. Several years after the tragic death of the Mullins little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from an orphanage into their home, they soon become the target of the dollmaker's possessed creation Annabelle. Starring Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Lulu Wilson, Philippa Coulthard and Grace Fulton.

Marshall (2017) 7/10

A well made courtroom drama about Thurgood Marshall as a lawyer in a town convulsed by racial hatred of blacks. It'a reliable solid drama film based on a celebrated 1940s trial in the early career of Marshall, features some great performances. Starring Chadwick Boseman, Josh Gad, Kate Hudson, Dan Stevens, Sterling K. Brown and James Cromwell.

In Darkness (2018) 5/10

I only watched this movie after seeing Natalie Dormer (The Fades) who is such a strong female character was in the lead role. This movie begins cleverly with some decent script and a strong performance from Dormer, but unfortunately as the plot unfolds it soon loses its way. Starring Natalie Dormer, Emily Ratajkowski, Neil Maskell, Ed Skrein and Jan Bijvoet.

Based on a true story about a whaling ship being attacked by a massive whale in 1850,the book by Herman Melville Moby Dick was based on the events,not a bad film at all. 7.7/10.

Operation Finale (2018)
A film based on the true story of a group of Israeli spies set out to capture Nazi war criminal Adolf Einchmann in Argentina in 1960. Not a fast paced action film more of a slow burner but Ben Kingsley was superb as the monster Eichmann. 7.8/10.

The Martian (2015) 6/10


Although it was a good entertaining movie by Ridley Scott. I kind of got a tad bored after the hour mark, Damon was at his best as per usual, he is essentially a shipwrecked extra-terrestrial Robinson Crusoe. But the duck tape fix all scene was a bit to much for me, still it was a fun film. Starring Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Jeff Daniels.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) 7/10

This film makes you realize how well made the first Jurassic Park was, still i enjoyed this film way more than i expected it obviously is setting the new franchise up for a potentially mad ending. The film stomps through its two-hour running time hitting a lot of action beats that the series has hit before, and the story is still pretty good. Starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda and James Cromwell.

Mandy is a twisted little tale infused with rage ,vengeance and blended with colours so vibrant they mesmerise and transfix the watcher in equal measure ,all the requisite ingredients to make this a cult classic.

Its almost like experiencing Purple Haze without the paraphernalia or indeed the product to evoke such a reaction ,it is without doubt a strange film and possibly the most peculiar cinema oddity of this year. I will say Nicholas Cage's metamorphosis from doting husband to the malevolent avenging angel he becomes and the directors and writers genius is only tempered by the quite visceral ending.

9/10 Simply a must see.
