Adam I know it's easy to get emotional after a poor performance but to put that all down to the manager is a bit daft, he's clearly part to blame but the biggest culprit is nerves and our players bottling it.

He took off Tomlinson for Mellis to try and get the ball down and play, it never happened like but he tried to swap it around to win the game but the players did not respond.

Saying that we nearly won it via Rose, not sure about the penalty shout either? didn't deserve to win mind.

The fact is we’re in the top 3 going into Easter which I was have been delighted with.

What I had an issue with today was how negative we were, we didn’t have a shot on goal other than the header, we offered nothing attack wise and set everyone back from set pieces which made no sense.

The players are obviously also to blame, it seems as if we were a mid table side going through the motions than one that wants promotion - if they’d have held on with MK winning they’d have had one foot in league 1, instead they served up that.

Good performance today from a very committed squad. Never easy, is it. Still think we’re the underdogs with everything going on off the field. A sustainable club will always be priority over promotion. Disappointing to hear Colchester fans singing about us going bust - especially with their reported losses!

Always wondered that at yours, why not just have some barrier or something up between the 2 stands? Last season that’s pretty much all that separated Mansfield and chesterfield and that was pretty rowdy as you can imagine.

Be a travesty if Bury go up at the expense of a team who can afford to pay their own players/staff/debts. What happens if they do get promoted then go into liquidation after the season ends? A reprieve for one of the relegated teams in the league above and one less relegated from this league?

We’re not going up don’t worry.

If Tranmere go up with their remaining fixtures fair play to them

We were poor today and a bit anti climatic as loads of fans left not knowing we were up but couldn't give a flying fuck, LEAGUE ONE HERE WE COME!

Not sure that's true- even the club hadn't considered the permutation of a draw when others won.

Clive Nates said on local radio he didn't realise we were promoted- focussed on a win to be promoted.

Players were leaving the pitch (some had already left and had to be brought back out onto the pitch when it was finally realised we were promoted).

Still around 6,000 left in the ground for the celebrations.

Today was never about the game but about the end result- shame it wasn't a win (because everyone knew what that meant).

Meanwhile I'll be with 2,400 other Imps at Carlisle to hopefully see something I have never seen in 37 years- the Imps win a league title (not including national league).

Concern for me is losing Perkins for the rest of the season, with McCullough already out. Good performance from Harris today, if could deliver more of the same, we may get by in midfield. Norwood being unavailable would be a big blow too. I think with the injuries racking up, if we don’t go up automatically, don’t think we’ll go up at all.

Well done to Lincoln on their deserved promotion.

This post (and 5 pints) has made me buy a ticket in the singing section.

Can't wait.

81/82 was my first season watching the Imps- last time we won a league title was 76/77.

Today was the first step, Friday I hope is history in the making.

For good measure, winning Friday would be 3 trophies in the last 3 years- only Pep can match that in English football....not bad company to be in!!

Singing section? Shouldn't the whole following be one when you've just been promoted?

Congratulations to Lincoln though.

It should and it is but we have a big family following away from home too- so we've worked out the singing section stand up when away from home and the non singing section (which includes the kiddies, families and old 'uns ) sit down. Works out very well!

We all sing but we don't all stand!

Weirdly anti-climactic today but after all the nonsense we've been through I'll take it. I sort of like how we've inverted the traditional "win at home, draw away" promotion plan. Three more for the title...imagine if we didn't do it.

Singing section is one of those things that sounds insanely lame in theory but actually works really well. Something had to be done after the Barnet trip last year which got really nasty between some of the families and the more...refreshed fans.

Bloody Lincoln as well! £172 if you won, fucked me over once again, bastards lol.

Anyway, well done, goes to show what can happen and what can be built on.

Sit back and chill with the 4 teams below you scrapping it out to join.

Brilliant win for bury given the circumstances and also Tranmere with a big win over MK, obviously less good for MK and Mansfield were poor in their away point at Northampton.

Easter will be big for everyone

Well done Lincoln, fantastic achievement and well deserved.

We are just about hanging on to the last play off place, hopefully Crawley will now feel safe and will roll over on Friday.

Barnet away was the worst I have seen Imps fans - fighting amongst themselves because we couldn't follow "allocated" seating and families ended up in the middle of groups of fans clearly a little drunk or high. Not a nice day out.

Singing section works really well and have had no repeats (that I can recall) since Barnet.

Well done to Lincoln. It's not easy to get promoted so any team that does it deserves praise.

Now if you could send O'Hara and Anderson down here you will hear an even louder cheer.

I wonder what Northampton must have thought of us today. What a slog.

I’ve saw countless sides up at the top and thought they were wank from what I’ve seen, and I’m sure they thought the same today.

We didn’t deserve to win at all, but how we went about the game after taking the lead left much to be desired

There's a lot of grinding out results going on at the top of L2 isn't there. Us included.

We haven't won a league title since 1976 under Graham Taylor so if we do it going to be very special, ,3 points required.

Certainly, it’s our defence which is why we’re so high, we were crap against Cambridge last week and won 1-0, another win like that against Morecambe next week would do nicely.
